"Where's your faith, Father?"
"It's in the car, I'm going to get it"
😂😂😂
His "faith" must be in the form of a .357 Magnum! (Or, at least in the form of a 9 MM)!!! After hearing that girl make fun of his Mama, he probably felt like shooting her! When she said what she did 'bout his Mama, he was all like "Man... don't NOBODY talk about my Mama!!!!!

Too bad Saturday Night Live sucks now compared to these ones. Sad. They have too much political bullshit in them. I love the days may be picked on everybody and not just certain ones. Lol.
@@charlesott8216 Just shut up and enjoy the skit, crybaby.
On the floor first time I watched this 😂😂😂.Richard Pryor Absolutely genius..Now have this on my phone!! 😂😂
Pryor: A comedic genius. The guy was the gold stanard of improv, delivery-facial expression and timing. Peace to all. Have a better day than your last.
Thank you, Ed!! Most appreciated. You and yours have a magnificent day as well!
Ed Brown .....very well said
@X X , I concur
Eddie way Better...

I still remember this from 1975...I was 15! The Exorcist was such a hit, ripe for parody. So funny, Pryor ruled.
Epic 🤣😂🤣😂

Did Mel Brooks use this in the scene from Young Frankenstein with the "revolving bookcase". "Put ze kandel bek!"
This happened 10 years before I was born and it’s still funny.
2 universal truths:
1) Never kill John Wick's dog.
2) Never talk about a black man's mama.

Facts
I like Richard Pryor kept saying, "The bed is on my foot." I also like Laraine Newman saying to Richard, "Your mama eats kitty litter." Richard replies, "Say what?" Laraine finally replies, "I said your mama eats kitty litter." It is almost fifty years old, and this skit is still funny and comedy gold. RIP Richard, you are sorely missed.
Thanks for reminding me of what I literally just watched
This was arguably the scariest movie ever made, but after you this sit and see the movie it becomes a comedy. A testament to the comedic genius of Richard Pryor.

So sad that today comedy is under the control of the left. The political police have shut it all down! Thanks for voting for these dumb asses! Thanks for nothing!
The moment she broke the "yo momma" insults, all bets are off. 🤣🤣🤣
"Don't NOBODY talk about my MAMA!" Hilarious! X)
Richard Pryor always great but props to actor Thalmus Rasulala, who had a great career and especially in the 70s was all over movies and television, doing both comedies and drama. One role he played great was as Raj and Dee's dad in "What's Happening."
Absolutely. It wasn't the 70s without Thalamus Rasulala. He always had great dramatic, and comedic timing. Don't forget the movie "The Sophisticated Gents" which featured numerous big name and well known 70s black actors. Che k a t Out! Ciao!!!
He was the police commissioner in New Jack City.
Richard Pryor still makes me laugh my ass off.

No one has matched his excellence before and since.

R.I.P to the iconic Richard Pryor. He was a comedic genius. His performance in this SNL sketch was extremely funny. It is pure comedy gold.
And Thalmus too
Hands down one of the funniest skits in SNL history, the entire Richard Pryor episode is hall of fame worthy.
Seriously...my vote for best SNL episode ever.
God I loved Richard Pryor
Pretty much everything Pryor did should be dipped in gold.

" Just a little word association test no big deal"
Trivia: Richard Pryor improvised and then milked the bed on his foot until they lifted the bed off his foot. That was the genius of Richard Pryor. To be able to improvise something that works so well and then make everyone work around him.
Absolutely right if anyone noticed the first time he said it the other guy actually looks to see it the bed was really on his foot. Realized it wasn’t and just went right along with it.
@Cindi Thomas , yep yep
JT Michaelson this man is still the king 🤴🏿 of comedy nobody but Dave Chappell comes close to not having to say a thing and still be funnier than everybody else!

Doubtful. They lift the bed up later and Larraine Newman apologizes. Clearly written into the sketch.

They don't make comedy like this anymore!!!
Richard Pryor was crazy, and I loved it!!!
I don't think they make comedy anymore. I haven't seen anything that comes close to comedy in YEARS!
Watched it 3x in a row. Haven't belly laughed like that in years. SNL writers and performers were creating comedic art back then. When SNL first aired no matter where I was on a Saturday night I always made it home in time to grab a snack, roll a joint and turn on the TV. I was 17 then. I'm 68 now. The only thing that's changed is the quality of SNL. Joints and snacks remain. ☺

I remember being like 8 at my grandma's house and listening to old cassettes of Pryor from the 70's that belonged to my aunt. I wasn't even 10 yet but his routine about putting cocaine on your dick was the funniest thing I'd ever heard, even though I didn't really know what cocaine was.

Especially when she throws the pea soup in his face, and then, looking him straight in the eyes, says "SUCKER"!!! Man, that was hilarious! Then, after offering him a rose, she breaks the vase over his head, and says "JIVE TURKEY"!!! He's still patient with her...until she makes the mistake of talking about his Mama. Oops!!! He looks down on her, and says "Say what"? I mean, he loses all his fear, right then & there! When she's stupid enough to repeat the insult, it's on! He's all over her like white on rice! Then the other Priest stops him...until she turns out to be too stupid to keep her yap shut! She insults him too-twice! Then they BOTH jump on her, strangling her!!! The morale of the story is:If you're gonna talk about a Black Man's Mama, be prepared to get yo butt strangled!!!

My parents took me to see Richard Pryor Live On The Sunset Strip when I was 12 .... he was a comic genius. Yeah, I had a great childhood.

As far as I'm concerned, this IS the real Exorcist 2.
I mean it was funny, just for all the wrong reasons.
Compared to all the stupid exorcism movies of the past 15 years, The Exorcist 2 really isn't all that bad. It at least has a fantastic musical soundtrack. Even several of the original reviews back then mentioned that.
That expression on Pryor's face from the bad breath at 1:26, I died
I saw this in the 80s as a kid and still remains one of the funniest skits ever! 🤣
When you consider this bit along with Pryor's opening monologue, Samauri Hotel, and The Job Interview, this might have been the greatest single SNL ever.
Arthur Shatz Total agreement! Classic episode from beginning to end!
It definitely rates way up there!
This was the very first show. I was 10 years old then.
The bed must be on the floor! The bed is on my foot!
Father please, let me help you 😂
How can this be? This skit is decades old; yet I laughed at this harder than the modern crap of SNL.
Back then it wasn't about political correctness, they just wanted to be funny! and they were!
You're so right! After Eddie and Joe left,I bailed out on the show.
Because they had better writers and wrote smart shit.
They also genuinely acted in a scene, and made eye contact with the other actors rather than just reading cue cards over each other's shoulders. Christopher Walken practically moves his head when speaking his lines
Better writers and performers. There was always political humor....but or was across the board. And they didn't beat the political humor into the ground like they do today.
This is one of the top funniest skits anywhere. "The bed must be on the floor, the bed must be on the floor. The bed is on my foot, the bed is on my foot". Absolutely a classic.

I can’t believe it’s 42 years old... oops, wait a minute you left your comment a year ago so it’s 43 years old!! Richard Pryor was an absolute comedic genius.
I always heard everyone praising him and I‘ve seen little bits and pieces on TH-cam ... A few weeks back I watched a full Richard Pryor stand up gig on Netflix ( I think it’s from the mid70s ; possibly between 1975 and 1979 )... He was/is incredible !! It was amazing inspiring to see him in his prime what a fast mind he had! so incredibly funny and this was a concert that was taped, so it was awe-inspiring to see him adapt his routine to whatever was going on in the audience! I mean we’re talking somebody with the ability to alter what they had planned to say in milliseconds.
None of his jokes were dated, everything he said was as true now as it was then.. watch it if you get time... I really was laughing so hard that I was crying. (People say that a lot and we even have emojis for that nowadays ,but we all know that level of laughing is rare.
