Looking forward to seeing future content, bro. I really applaud content creators like yourself with a full family, and all the things that go along with it and still manage to spit out quality content

I literally just sought out your channel last week since I always found your content so helpful and easy to follow. I was legit worried something had happened to you but glad that it was just life getting busy. There are worse things for sure. Loved looking at your toys in this video. Can't wait to see some new content.

Laziness was a big part of it too. I’m only human lol. I enjoy writing so the website was much easier for me to juggle with the kids and working from home. But now that I have my own office and things are much different here, I can make content now and then! Thanks for your concern but I’m ok and thanks for watching!

Glad you're back! I'm guessing you moved out of the DC area? I've missed your videos, man! I took your advise and started a little channel myself, although it's not technology related rather just for model railroad stuff.

Yes! Moved back to our home state. Maryland was beautiful but man was it congested there. I’m used to country living and glad to be back in it! I’ll check out your channel! Good to see you too Shane and don’t be a stranger on discord either ☺️

WOW 😳 how many Synology NAS servers do you have? 😂 I have bought a week ago the Synology Diskstation 224+ (I could convince my wife that it is useful😅) and also have raspberry pi 4, that's it for now with my home lab 😅

Since you brought it up, 😜 I'm running all SATA cables right now for my unraid setup with four spinning disks and 2 sata to SSDs. I will sometimes have system hangs for 20 to 30 seconds and when I check the CPU is pegged at 100%. This mostly happens when writing to the SSDs. From what I've read online I believe it may be the built-in sata controller that's not designed to handle that kind of IO with parity data and mirroring. I'm trying to stay on a fairly low power budget and I haven't found any sas controllers that check all the boxes. Any suggestions on dedicated sata or sas controllers?

One suggestion could be to use a PCIe adaptor to run nvme ssds through the pci lanes. This might reduce the load on your sata controllers and would also free up some sata ports. There are various adaptor options on ebay etc... I'm currently testing a dual nvme PCIe adaptor for a 2500k i5 on a 2011 motherboard to run the cache.
