From what I can tell, he's essentially setting up his own small data centre in his closest whilst also upgrading his Router's and Switches to quickly put any recorded data down from his streams into either machine whilst being able to stream in 4K or something.
He's setting up a home server so he can better manage the backups, etc he needs for his streaming which at this point is practically a home business. Also probably got stuff like plex installed so he doesn't have to deal with netflix and the like. Lotta programs for home servers, they're insanely useful if you know how to build/configure/use them.
After all these years, robbaz's videos are the only ones on youtube that genuinely make me happy. Its the one thing still consistent with my childhood :D Also robbaz is actually insanely handy with IT stuff damn. This is way above the knowledge level of most people :DD
always interesting to see how people put together these kind of things to suit their needs, a much more realistic and acheiveable setup compared to a lot of channels
You might want to swap that powerstrip for a heavier built one. The cheap ones tend to melt and catch fire under heavy power loads. Also arrange the cords by most power demanding to lease power demanding. Place the most power demanding cord in the power strip closest to the powerstrips cord. In theory since the largest amount of power will have the least distance to cover it should reduce how much heat it produces moving that power.
I know someone who got raided due to suspicions of growing weed due to consistently high power usage. They saw his loaded up server rack and pretty much admitted it was a false alarm then went home...Luckily before they found his grow tent in the attic.
