I cant thank you enough for your videos... i watch as many as i can (and occasionally comment using my other youtube account) and even though this subject doesnt seem relevant to my situation, i am really grateful that i clicked on this video today. The bit im particularly interested in was the risk of encephalopathy with dialysis... literally in a couple of days time i have to go with my mum to the kidney specialist as her gfr is only 15ml and she may have to start treatment. Its been a surprise to me that her kidneys are so bad, i didnt even know she had ckd 'till a few months ago. Ive taken notes from some of your other videos, and Ive already bought the lee hull book youve mentioned before and the accompanying cookbook. Ive also just ordered your book on quotes as a present for her, it'll be fun to read over christmas, i think she'll like it (and i know i will too!), she's also part irish-catholic - loves reading literature (favourite author is charles dickens) and likes philosophy/theology. Thanks for sharing your spare time to help people, your videos have really helped me!
What does the kidney do? Main job = excretes nitrogen from protein. Carbohydrates and fats do not have any nitrogen. If a person eats a very low protein diet, then the kidney has more time to "rest," and maybe heal a little bit. Kidney also excretes acid. Avoiding acidic foods like meat and sodium choloride also makes life easier for kidney. I made videos about this. Kempner had great success with kidney pts. At Chef AJ you tube channel, there is a lady dietician who talks about how to try to maintain kidney function. Best wishes
My uncle was just diagnosed with Lewy Body Disease. A form of dementia I believe. He drank cans of Diet Coke every day. I'm assuming the soda and the aluminum cans contributed. Any thoughts on that Dr. Rogers? Thanks
We cannot change the past. We can only try to improve for the future. He's probably too confused to improve his diet. However, if it was me, and I had the understanding and motivation, I would avoid all the things that cause dementia and Parkinson's disease. I've made videos about all this stuff.
@@PeterRogersMD Thank you Dr. Rogers! Do you recommend any brand of revere osmosis, or any particular brand of it? I am curious why distillation in the kitchen is not good enough --- I thought we just did not want to drink water with aluminum in it. In other words, why would I care if I use water with aluminum in it for washing and cleaning?
@@PeterRogersMD Thanks! What kind/brand of reverse osmosis do you recommend? Do you use it both for kitchen and for cleaning and washing? I am seriously thinking about getting one.
Dr. Roger’s I have recently fractured my ankle and was pleased to see your video on opioids which I was prescribed by NHS (UK). Do you have any advice on anti-coagulants that are also prescribed routinely for this injury?
Yes, Thank you for those. I have been sticking to the diet inspite of some fierce resistance from some of those around me saying I need good fats 😅 and more protein to heal
I always enjoy your videos highlighting Dr. McDougall's work. I watched this video yesterday that Dr. Greger posted about cookware. He discussed the aluminum issue and referenced a study that demonstrates that the aluminum in antacids does not increase dementia rates, which you contradicted in this video. This is the link, is the effect of aluminum open to interpretation or is Dr. Greger more up to date? th-cam.com/video/a28SaKWbEHc/w-d-xo.html
I sense that he means well, but he's an ignoramus. He has not done his reading on nutrition, and routinely makes a fool of himself. He's so ignorant, that he doesn't know he's ignorant.

Thank you for the great reminders. (I have watched several of your lectures.)
Thanks!
This is why we listen to Dr Peter Rogers: he's smarter than all the others.
Thanks!

@@PeterRogersMD Very true. Thanks
Thank you Dr. Rogers for this! What filter do you recommend for removing aluminum from tap water?
Reverse osmosis is best option for most people. Distillation is a more cumbersome method and only for the kitchen.

@gracezw1389 ...maybe bathing in it? Brushing teeth w it? Coating washed veg?

Everything heals better with good blood flow. I made videos about that.

It's probably the new "magic" al that doesn't cause any side effects, ever.
