    Brilliant. My chain jumped out of the sprockets, and I didn't know how to fix it. I also didn't know that when you take off the guard, you can just pop the chain out and re-connect it. I do now! 0:24 seconds into the video - and I had the job fixed and my awesome little log cutter working fine again! 🪚😃

    My friend, those wood chips were put there for a video. No way that saw was that clean! One minute of actual use would have put enough "gunk" on the saw to render is looking "used". I have one of these and keeping that chain tight is super frustrating!

      how do you tighten it when its too loose?

  • @TurfWars2025
    @TurfWars2025 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you replace it with a genuine Stihl chain, you can expect well over 500 2" cuts through unseasoned wood. No chain adjustment required. But do keep it oiled and clean after use. Supplied with a totally inadequate amount of chain oil. You will need to buy more!

    Not a very good design, there's no chain adjustment, after 20 cuts you might as well throw the chain away.

      You tighten the chain by pulling the bar out as you tighten the lock screw. He does this in the video 😊

    Does Stihl recommend a particular file to sharpen the GTA 26 chain?

    • @oaktree5943
      @oaktree5943 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just use a reg 1/8" Stihl round file.

    No adjustment?? My opinion on Stihl has just dropped a great deal. I guess I’ll have to order some replacement chains.

    How frequently should you oil the chain. Neither the instruction manual or this video cover this important point!

    • @gwgere
      @gwgere 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's in the manual actually. It says before each time you use it. Just a few drops is all you need. Remove battery first.

    • @WPFinlay
      @WPFinlay 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Would you say oil it each time you have to charge the battery? Oil both sides all the way round? Or a few spots on the visible part then spin it for a few seconds? It's great to have exact information.

    I have just used it with olive trees in Greece.....i was very dissapointed to realize that the chain goes off as you work quite often and the saw stops!!! You have to take the battery off, put the teeth of the chain back at their place and then again battery on and start again!!!it happened 3 times untill the battery was down.I have tried to turn the chain 2 rounds as per the instructions,but it kept doing it....also,all the time leaves and small branches get in the chain....as you work.....and finally,if you force it to a big piece of tree,it stops!for the money i bought it,although it is light and easy for women,it is not worth it...

    • @jaimealvarez912

      Poor design, there is no chain adjustment, you have to throw the chain away and get a new one

      Good question. Notice the video shows how much slack there should me to the millimeter but fails to mention that you couldn't do anything about it it it were off. However, I found a way to adjust the tension: Take a small piece of steel bailing wire, pound one end flat, push the piece into the area forward of what should be the tensioner, clip the end and tap the wedge into place. Its been working well now to extend the life of a chain that is still good but just stretched that little bit.

      You can tighten the chain. You use the wing nut. Crack it loose pull outward on the tip of the bar and chain and hold while you tighten the wing nut back up. Just watch your fingers don't slip

    Cleaning must also be done on the engine.
    It has to be blown with a motorized compressor, otherwise you will suffer what I suffered.
    The engine got dirty and the engine stalled and did not work until the engine was cleaned.

    Uma porcaria, não gastem vossos dinheiro com essa máquina. Tudo que vi como podam galhos só quando está no primeiro uso. Depois corrente fica deixa, uma loucura para tensionar. Já no segundo uso
