This piece is really pretty! There’s one part in the middle that makes my ❤️swell n I almost cry. That’s why I love the violin It’s an instrument that can make you want to get up and dance or bring you to tears because it is so beautiful. I’ve wanted to play since I was nine years old and I am, well let’s just say I’m approaching senior citizen status, LOL and I have been practicing for about six weeks now and I love it even the mistakes I love because I know that with practice I will get over each little hurdle and hump. Thank you for your wonderful videos I wish you lived in South Florida.❤️😃👏🙏👌🎻😘🤗👊⭐️
Your love of violin is all you need! You will get joy out of every step along the way. (and that is good.....because the destination is only 1% of the journey!!!) Keep up your great work!
Dear Lora, I’m not much educated in music, but I both laughed and cried during your performance of this piece. Will someone please tell me that I’m not getting this wrong, and there were indeed both humorous and sad parts to this song. 😅
Wow, one of the best performances of Humoresque ever. Stunning phrasing and vibrato. Plus tone so wonderfully nuanced and original. Bravo. I'm saving this one in mý favorites to use as a reference for mý own learning of this piece.
We did this recording session in ONE DAY. (the whole book).....and there was only time for 2 takes. This was take 2....and the dang mailman dropped mail into the slot at 1:50.....I was thinking, "NO DO-OVERS....KEEP PLAYING!"
My 8yo son and I were watching this video together. I didn't really notice the mailman at 1:50 but he noticed immediately and for the next stretch of music wanted to know exactly what had caused the noise. So was pleased to be able, at the end, to give him the reason :) We enjoy your videos and I really like the camera angle in this one. Thank you!
@@pennydutra4291 I love knowing you were watching this together with your son. This video is now a precious memory, as my beloved pianist Jed Moss passed away very suddenly last year of cancer. I'm so glad to have these videos to cherish his memory! I hope they will help many people.
@@RedDesertFiddle Laura, what a tragedy! Even on video, simply accompanying on piano, Jed comes across as a very decent, good-natured and likeable person, of course talented.....and young! Heartfelt sympathy on your tremendous loss, you are in our prayers. Many thanks again for your excellent videos, they are most definitely helpful. We are dedicated fans since discovering your channel in the past year :)
I learned how to play this a few months ago but seeing you do this has opened my eyes to a whole better way and nicer way to play it - this is truly amazing
You are very kind, Kyle. This piece can be played on MANY LEVELS! It can be played with tons of vibrato, with lots of shifting and 3rd position, or WITHOUT those things. I'm sure you did a great job! Now you can add some of the little extras to it!
Thank you! That moment is special because my pianist, Jed Moss has the sensitivity to let that time stretch before going on. He was such a pleasure to play with.
...says the man who plays Czardas on a SAW!!!!! I wasn't going for danger that day....I was going for survival. Bravo on your Czardas! (I tried to play on a saw once....but I couldn't even get one note out.....and it ruined my horse hair because I played on the TEETH!!! LOL......I was in 11th grade, so give me a little bit of a break) But bravo to you.
Dangerously... that was the word I was searching for! :-) Dvorak wasn't Mozart nor Beethoven, he was slavonic, and that should come out in the playing.

Wow, thank you sincerely, Paul!
0:50 section 2 ( for those trying to play along) I love the wee smile on your face when the post comes in the letterbox 😀
Wow, you are observant! (we had limited time.....and we HAD to keep going!)

Sounded like a snare drum, what a beautiful rendition. I’m so envious of your effortless vibrato.
