  • Well, my blender went belly up and it was time for a new one. Figured I'd give this a little test to see if it was worth the money. Let's see how it did.

    loved the review. Just bought my yesterday. Never thought about peanut butter. We made ice cream the first night with a bag of frozen strawberries, 2 cups of fat free milk and 2 table spoons of splenda. It was excellent. My picky eaters (Kids ages 7 and 9) loved it. Now I am buying tons or frozen fruit.

    We purchased the Ninja Professional Blender almost three years ago, and it gets used all the time. The one we bought has the 72 ounce pitcher, the two single serve, blades, etc., and It still works perfectly. We have made everything, including smoothies, milkshakes, iced cappuccino/coffee/tea, ice cream, snow cones, soup, chopped/grind coconuts( a lot better than having to grater it), salsa, mixed drinks with, and without, alcohol in them and a lot of other things. We usually do a lot of experimenting with it.
    Good review, and I'm glad you showed the part with the thicker smoothie versus the more thinned out one, because it let's folks know you can choose how you want it.

    A couple of comments: I've had my Ninja for years (5-6 I think), and I've loved it. I just got the basic unit before the processor and single-serve cups. First, The Ninja does a better job with a full jar. For the snow demo, FILL THAT SUCKER UP! It works great! As the ice is pulverized, it flings out and the cubes get to the bottom to get smashed. Many-a-roomie of mine has been surprised by the random summertime snowball. Second, pulse a bit and then go auto, and keep revving it up faster. The bar has grooves in it to move the food around, but it needs to be moving to work! Also, I've never thought about making peanut butter! Kudos! I'll be making my own from now on! Additionally, with the smoothie, remember that blending makes heat. so as you blend, things melt. Also, the big blades tend to whip air into the mix, so it can get foamy, where the single serve unit with the blades at the bottom... not so much whipping. My fav smoothie technique is to use all frozen fruit, maybe a banana, and juice... NO ICE! I also pass on the dairy stuff, but that's me. Let the frozen fruit be the thickener. As it melts, it doesn't water down, either. If it's a bit too thick, add some more juice or milk. I worked a pro smoothie bar for a while, and I think mine are better. For an adult version, add some wine instead of juice to the fruit for a frozen Sangria! Enjoy!

    I've had mine for years and still works like new. I saw Ninja ads and just thought it was an overrated blender. Then I went to my sons house and he made a margarita and all I could say was WOW! I went home and ordered one with all the works. Nothing can get away from 6 blades going up 3/4 of the way. I leave it on the counter, it's not too big. It also makes dough in a minute, then I through the dough in my Ninja Foodi that has a dehydrator button. I set it to 105 and cover it so no air blows on it. Then I put it in a bread pan turn up the heat and out comes a load of great bread. I actually use the Foodi almost every day. I found air frying doesn't dry out the food. I've cooked chicken, beef, fish, potatoes, bread, stews, etc..

    Sure, a Vitamix is a great machine and for its exorbitant price it should be. It blends smoothies well, no argument there. But for versatility (and price) the Ninja cannot be beat. I have the Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500 (1500 watts/2HP model, typically $149) which came with: 2 travel mugs/ 2 lids for smoothies, a 72 oz pitcher for all general blender functions, 8 cup food processor, and a mini-chop. It is the SAME power as a Vitamix. It quickly turns ice to snow. It macerates butternut squash. It grinds meat. It effortlessly shreds chicken, beef and pork. It makes fresh whipped cream, dressings, guac, frozen cocktails. It replaces your blender, stand mixer, NutriBullet /smoothie maker, veggie chopper, coffee grinder, bulky food processor, and it makes pie crust & pizza dough significantly faster than my $450 KitchenAid stand mixer. There is nothing this appliance cannot do. If you are on the fence, don't hesitate. You would never regret this purchase. The Ninja Mega Kitchen System 1500 is a powerhouse. It's affordable and far more versatile than a Vitamix or any other standalone blender. As info, my first Ninja purchase (a small 'master prep') is as sharp as ever and still going strong with daily use since 2009... over 14 years!! Let me say I have no affiliation with Ninja whatsoever I'm just happy to share my excellent experience with this brand. TIP: In my opinion if you were to add any-brand $29 hand-held IMMERSION blender (soups, fresh tomato sauce, mashed potatoes, dressings, etc) to this Ninja kitchen system, you'd then have every small appliance convenience your kitchen will ever need - especially if you are short on space, but love to cook and bake! Just my personal recommendation, and I hope some of you will find this comment helpful.

    I have the newer version of this system, just got it a month ago on a great sale at Sams Club and it's amazing, very powerful, have to be careful the blades are very sharp. Yes it makes a lot of noise but with that power I am sold. It is great I have gotten rid of all my other appliances and just use this one.

    This is an old video but I just got my Ninja set a couple of days ago and I'm excited to try it. My son just broke his jaw in three places and had to have surgery to get his mouth wired shut, so I needed something to really puree things like smoothies and soups. He's still on the basic broth diet but when he can have more pureed food, I think this baby will get the job done. Fingers crossed! I just bought mine off of Amazon for $149.95. Great Demo! Big ((Hugs)) from Texas!! : )

      PerfectFringe It depends on what you need it to do. I got the "Mega Kitchen System" BL771, because I wanted the food processor portion also. If you look at Bed Bath & Beyond (dot com) they have several different versions with different setups. I also noticed that it's at Costco but can't recall the version.

    Nice review. I enjoyed seeing the ice crushed or pulverized... peanut butter... awesome... and the smoothie... though surprised you would use a cup of possibly store bought OJ... What about pineapple skin? what about veggies... how much does it crash them.... green liquids... I'm now liquefying my salads.. with veggies and fruits... love the product... feel energized and I'm slimming down... ha ha... Do you have another test for veggies please? Love the idea of having the individual attachments... Have you tried making bed or pizza or cookie dough already? thanks again... let me know....

    • @BurningcerealShow
      @BurningcerealShow  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Puneet Muddu - The answer is, and you may not like it, but... It depends, warm food like spinach I do not see why not, but I wouldn't take it from the pan to the blender. Let it cool for a little bit. As for soup or any other liquid, I don't think I would do that.

      If you have the one that came with the 2 different sized bowls (1 big & 1 small), the large blade stalk is used in the large bowl. The shorter blade stalk is used in the small bowl. To use the small one, attach the big bowl, insert the long black stalk with no blades, then put the small bowl inside the large bowl, then add the small blade stalk. The black plastic blades are used for making things like cookie dough or bread dough. I generally use the smaller one for little batches of salsa and pizza/spaghetti sauces. Hope that answers your question. If not, email me and let me know.

      Mary nou - It means the container is not lined up on the base correctly.

    If you'd added more liquid to the smoothie in the big container, it'd have been a thinner consistency. Both were as smooth as one another.

    I was never really impressed with my ninja. But I hope it works for everyone else. Just be very mindful of the sharp blades. I've cut myself a few times. I've moved up on my blender and bought a vitamix 750.

      @BurningcerealShow  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jason Johnson Hi Jason, thanks for your input. I too wanted a vitamin but couldn't bring myself to pay that price. We've been using our Ninja for over a year and not a problem yet. And I agree, those blades are razor sharp.

    Do you think it can be used as a juicer?

    • @BurningcerealShow
      @BurningcerealShow  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Elizabeth Bustos No, it's not like a traditional juicer. It will make a great smoothie, but I don't think it will chop/blend it down fine enough to be considered a juicer.

    I got it last year too but I'm not as happy since the "processor" does not do normal things like slice or shred. I use the blender for veggie juicing and it's horrible.

      I bought the Ninja Blender. I literally have used it every day for the past 2 years. I do protein shakes, and almond milk with it. The small, single serve parts are awesome. no issues. The big blender part, is starting to get cracks around the seams, but nothing leaks out. It's double layered. I think this may be from the extreme pressure of the dry almonds getting turned into liquid. That also creates a lot of heat, and I don't think plastic blenders are made for that. Still works for me. The only issue I have with this method of blending is mashed potatoes, or potato soup. This doesn't mash things, it cuts them. This means that potato soup is just micro small cuts of potato.
