This brings back so many memories! I got one of these for Christmas 2012 after virtually begging my parens to get one and it was my first new computer, my second ever after a 2005 IBM thinkcenter pentium 4. The thing was amazing and got me through a good proportion of my life. I still have it, although the screen is broken, but I'm going to get that fixed. Thing's still running an updated verssion of mountain lion, with the old iMovie 11 and everything. Even that's so different from how mac os is now.
I know that feel bro, I bought a wii when I was 10 with my own money for christmas an I felt so excited when I gave the money. Now I keep all my money and wait till I get enough to buy something, you learn how to take care of things and how much you worked and waited to buy it make you learn how important is to be nice with your things.
i got the Macbook air 13" 2012 base model and it is really fast and runs Minecraft perfectly. it even runs some other, more "hardcore" games, like Assassins Creed 2, though not as well, but playable on max settings, and pretty smooth on lower settings. note that Assassins Creed 2 is a pretty old game though. Im happy with this laptop, and it should be more than enough for what you need it for.
Im getting this 2012 MacBook air in 2018 *used* I already have a gaming PC for gaming and other stuff..I wanna buy the MacBook for school work and just bit TH-cam.. oh and it will my first Apple laptop any suggestions?
I think a 13" inch is sufficient. I have a 13" MacBook (White). I have been eyeing up the Air for a while; I love how slim it is. I'm also really interested in getting a Pro, it seems more powerful than what I have. I agree with you on the price for the 15". It's pretty ridiculous. Over 2 grand for a laptop. I would wait to get a refurbished one. I have two Macs that are refurbished, and they are just as great as getting one brand new, for hundreds of bucks cheaper.
I own a thinkpad. I own two, actually, and I'm really not fond of them. I'm not terribly fond of apple either, but I get special hookups to both lenovo and apple. I'm tired of the poor build on my thinkpad convertible tablet, and how slow it's gotten over 2 years, while my friends with macbooks 2-4 years old are still running strong.
You cannot say that the portability is remotely close on the two units. I realize the price is $600, but adding an SSD will cost a pretty penny extra. The portability of this kind of unit is really hard to quantify in a dollar amount, and I don't think any amount of extras would make up for it to a lot of people. For someone like myself, having a laptop with you for about 10 hours per day, 3 pounds extra is a significant difference which is worth the small premium.
Can't decide between this or a windows ultrabook. I'm not an Apple fanboy, and I don't have an iphone, an imac, or an ipad, so the whole Apple ecosystem doesn't appeal to me. I'd essentially just be using it as a tool for school productivity office tasks, as well as video streaming and browsing, I have a PC desktop for gaming, and I have an android so all the "cloud" services I need will work with Macs OR Windows laptops because both can download chrome anyway. So ultrabook or MBA?
If you don't need much connectivity, (like FireWire) or DVD, I think Air is your best selection... It's light, and the performance wasn't too different from Pro... May be just RAM that less, but you can upgrade it.. But, if you care much about DVD and FireWire, then you should buy Pro...
I just ordered one of these last night and I'm hoping it was the right choice.. I'm in my second semester of year ten and need it for research for assignments, twitter / facebook / youtube / tumblr, etc.. but I guess anything is better than my old laptop which worked like it was made in the stone age. Haha.
I am thinking of getting a mac... it would be great if u can do a comparison (speed, tech etc) with ur other mac's ( i am thinking if i should get a upgraded macair or macpro... i am sure many others would like to see that too :) thanks
Since the new Mac pros don't have the disc drive anymore, would it be better to just buy a Mac air and deck it out with tons of upgrades???? Or should I just get the 15" retina pro
The old Macbook air which the Zen has alot better specs, also SSDs are used for Boot drives NOT for storage you only need 64GB for a Ubuntu or Fedora Install with plenty of room. Also my commute is take the buss to school walk to my classes around campus then walk to the buss and too work. I have a hefty commute and that laptop is light as a bird and has a very nice screen.
Hey! Thanks for the great high quality video! As always, this is a great channel!! I was wondering if you could do a game test on the Mac...! Diablo III is a huge game and with all the new specs on the MacBook Pros, could you do a demo on how the game perform on the different models?!? I would greatly appreciate it!!!
I wonder what Apple has planned for the future. There are continuity flaws with their current rate of upgrades... How will they improve the MacBook Air, apart from bringing in better internal specs. Any thinner, and they'll have to ditch USB.
Both of them will give you what you want, but the MacBook Air has a better integrated graphics processor than Windows ultrabooks "at the moment". So if you're looking to do a little bit of minor gaming on the go, then I recommend the MBA, but if you're not then I recommend the Windows Ultrabook.
He got it in late 2011, and he plays a lot of games on it. I would have recommended a better laptop for around the same price, but he bought it without informing me.
Yeah please compare it to the old and tell us if the improvements are worth buying it! :) By the way, my sub has been canceled o.O I was shocked when I realized there is a new vid by u and I haven't been reminded... Anyway I've subbed again! :) Can't wait for more details on the new MacBook air!
The love is mutual... goes out to all the supporters.

Keep up the great unboxings man, I think they're the best on the Internet when it comes to all-around unboxings.
My wife has the 13inch MacBook Air. Primarily for school. It's very clean looking and not to mention SUPER FAST!
I near passed out when I saw this, I etch the keynote and I didn't think anyone would has this yet, thank you do much ( best unboxer on TH-cam
0:00 An Amazing TH-camr was born

Falcon Lover : I’d say this is his first high quality vid that hinted into the style we see today
Just got mine yesterday!! So excited and i love it!
Just walked home from my 2 hour maths exam, no better way to start the day than with an ice cold Monster Energy & UnboxTherapy.
When I was 14, i bought a powerbook, the latest model, with my own money. It felt so amazing.
will get a brand new air tomorrow from the office, Awesome!
Watching this on my Macbook Air 13" 2012. It is a magnificent notebook and i highly recommend it to everyone :)
I wake up everymorning just waiting on new videos !
literally just bought one!! i am so excited!

there so was much hype for this unboxing

This comments section is getting romantic.
I almost passed out thinking this was an unboxing of the new MBP with Retina display but awesome unboxing anyway! Keep it up!
I'm getting mine for school on Monday. I want it tomorrow!!
Lew you got almost everything you want you're living life to the fullest
Best ultrabook on the market right. I just got mine.
I am gonna have to pick one of these up i've resisted for so long.
I own a thinkpad. I own two, actually, and I'm really not fond of them. I'm not terribly fond of apple either, but I get special hookups to both lenovo and apple. Excited to see the new mac book pro getting unboxed
Ordered my Macbook Air 13" with 8gb RAM, 2.0GHz, and 512 SSD... Should arrive next week based on Apples time estimate. CANT WAIT!!!!
Sweet Lou.. I KNEW you would do an unbox of the new MacBooks. I wasn't wrong :D
Nice unboxing. I really can't choose between this one or the 15" Macbook pro. The 15" models are just so expensive:(
You have great style, good speech and a very smooth video. I will now watch more videos from you.

Lol the "paperwork"

I have an early 2011 13-inch macbook pro and I'm thinking of selling it and getting the early 2012 13-inch macbook air. Ugh so tempting.
You have the best reviews on TH-cam :)

got one of these. The solid state drive is super fast. apps like calendar open in like a second but apps like photoshop open in about 5-6 seconds.
Who is the best unboxer/reviewer on the web??? Lew is. Awesome video bro, keep it up.
Awesome, this is why i love unboxtherapy ;), always getting the latest and greatest products first.
sure. Its nice, but I'm excited for the Retina Macbook Pro.

really like the dolly part after the intro
i live in greece and i thank you because u buy stuff i cant afford !!!!
Om getting one in a few days. Was gonna buy an iPad butbthis makes more sense to me. Very portable and can do much more.
I just ordered one of these last night and I'm hoping it was the right choice.. Should I get this or wait for the 2013 Air? Will the 2013 be far more expensive?
I wish I could have one like this at least a 2010.....
NIce videooo I loveyour videos
Hey kid when i was your age, the mud was our Macbook !
the nikes on my feet keep my cypher complete

im 11 yrs old.... n im getting this MacBook Air 13 2012 128GB!!

You should try and get your hands on the MacBook pro and unbox that.
Best review iv seen yet
I am thinking of getting a mac... it would be great if u can do a comparison (speed, tech etc) with ur other mac's ( i am thinking if i should get a upgraded macair or macpro... i am sure many others would like to see that too :) thanks

How much does it cost?I want to buy it.
Is this durable because when I held one in my hands I felt like I was going to break it.....
can you do a review on this? like test it with video editing and all the stuff that the last gen had a hard time with?
The old Macbook air which the Zen has alot better specs, also SSDs are used for Boot drives NOT for storage you only need 64GB for a Ubuntu or Fedora Install with plenty of room. Should I still go with the 2011 model if it's the cheaper and quicker choice for me? How much better is this one for XCode?
yay! i have got mine Macpro Retina here in Australia, waiting time was just a few hours.
would u recommend this to a highschool student who does a little bit of gaming and photo editing?
I wonder what Apple has planned for the future. There are continuity flaws with their current rate of upgrades... How will they improve the MacBook Air, apart from bringing in better internal specs. Any thinner, and they'll have to ditch USB.
Go for the iMac. If you are gonna do video editing, get a PC which is a bit more powerful. And the iMac is perfect for video editing.
finally a 13" unboxing. Should I get the basic 13 MBA or basic MBP
i ordered mine on black friday :3 im so excited
I am so glad I found you.
when are the 2012 macbook pros coming to the retail store?
no silly, he should give the macbook air away not just in the comments he will do a whole other video
Both of them will give you what you want, but the MacBook Air has a better integrated graphics processor than Windows ultrabooks "at the moment". So if you're looking to do a little bit of minor gaming on the go, then I recommend the MBA, but if you're not then I recommend the Windows Ultrabook.
Love this when you OPEN the box --33!!
Ive never had a macbook 😭
should i get this or 13" macbook pro?
is upgrading the base model worth it?
Just bought it and waiting for its arrival
It has an SSD, so basically this is what makes it faster because it reads from a chip instead of reading off of a HHD disc.
OMG im getting this computer soon!!! So excited to switch from windows to apple! IM used to apple tho.
I'm a college student? Is there enough space in this air for me? Is it too flimsy thst it might break in my backpack??? Thank you!
Is it good in gaming?
macbook air running windows is the best thing ever
He got it in late 2011, and he plays a lot of games on it. I would have recommended a better laptop for around the same price, but he bought it without informing me.
Great vid bro! You should unbox an Alienware aurora r4! I would love to see what comes in the box.
Whats wrong with ssd's? They're twice to five times as quick, just as reliable and far more compact.
Nice laptop, although price is steep for portability and storage
where do you get the money to buy so many stuff
13 inch Pro or 13 inch air? Please help as I need to buy one soon
I'm honestly curious as to what laptop has the same/comparable hardware for $600.
RAM is random access memory which temporarily stores the processing data. Generally, the greater the size of the RAM, the better.
I absolutly love the MacBook Air:)
Why'd you get the 13" model? Why not the 11" for a change. If i do recall, you already have the previous generation 13" Air.
dude, when are you going to unbox the MacBook pro retina display?
Nice video.
here's the classic!
If you want to play games or anything that's GPU dependent like photoshop, get the pro, if not Air is still overkill :D.
I specked out mine online. The pro came out to $1600. The air was at $1700. Which one should I get? Please someone reply. Thanks.
Yeah please compare it to the old and tell us if the improvements are worth buying it! :)
By the way, my sub has been canceled o.O
I was shocked when I realized there is a new vid by u and I haven't been reminded...
Anyway I've subbed again! :)
Can't wait for more details on the new MacBook air!
Greatest intro
Is it able to video edit and render at a decent time and not be slowing down the computer?
The MAC Book Air is not available yet, how did you get yours?
Should i get this one or the 8gb ram model?
Should i get a mac or an iphone 5? Plz respond
