You can work as a wood-officer, not like a woodworker with wood-dust, sweaty and clutter of tools and plenty of wood pieces on the floor. Professional for everything. I can image you did all in a workshop equipped with full A/C. I admire of that. 👍😍 I did the same project few months ago with second role as i mentioned above (amateur woodworker) 😂
Merci! Plusieurs personnes ont exprimé leur aversion pour la musique et je promets que je n'utiliserai cette musique pour aucune de mes vidéos à l'avenir hahaha
I have taken only 1 woodworking class when I was in middle school. Majority of my experience come from trial and error :) it is important to understand each tool’s capabilities, and more importantly, I’m what ways can the tool cause accidents. Understand this will help in making a safer working environment. You can do it!
Very well Done. is the tabletop panel bought from home centre as it is? As for the walnut wood, it looks very nice but wonder how you get them jointed and planed? Do you have such tools at your workshop?
yup, the top was bought from Home Depot, then I sanded it and applied 3 layers of polyurethane. The walnut, some had holes which I filled with resin + black coloring, then planed them flat :)
@@getthingsbuilt1342 nope, I don't have a jointer :) so I tend to avoid boards that has a very bad bow or twist, but we all know that's not possible to completely avoid them :) so when I have a board that has a bow or twist, I place the material on top of a known flat piece of board (usually MDF); I then add shims from bottom to make sure the material does not have any wobble when resting on the flat board. this way, when I run the material through the thickness planer, the material will end up having the top side absolutely flat. Now with the new flat side as my reference, I simply flip over the material and run the other side through the thickness planer to get that side flat as well :)
@@DingsWorkshop well explained. How effective is this? I’d recon it is more effective for longer piece but less for short piece? Maybe I am wrong. I also thinking it is maybe relatively practical for hardwood pieces as they are in a better condition( normally ). But for construction lumbers ( apparently we all use a lot), they normally in a pretty bad shape so that we had to joint them and plane them every time we use them if we want to be precise.... I don’t have either a planet or jointer but want to know what to buy next. If I need buy both or can simply buy a planer using your method. I had some very bad experience using the construction lumbers without planing and jointing and the table I made out of them is a disaster
@@nickharvey1648 so based on my experience, the thickness planer + shim trick works pretty well. And I'd even say it works better on shorter material vs longer ones (mostly because shorter material only needs shorter flat board as the base). Of course the best situation is to have both thickness planer and a jointer, but frankly, I've heard many people say the jointer is probably the last tool you need to buy in your woodshop, because there are many ways to make a flat surface on lumber :)
Beautiful design and you make this look so easy. Question. What is the finish of the desk top? Is it a veneer or finish? Been looking to add furniture pieces to an existing furniture but can’t match or find the color/style but it’s exactly the same color/finish as your desk top. Thank you.

You made this build look effortless! The design is so simple and modern, I love it!
I like the cleanliness of your workshop especially the floor is clear of wood dust!

What does calls these type of wood?
the side panels are white oak plywood. the drawer plates are solid walnut. table top is birch
This is the most technological wood furniture taller
