Best teacher online. You not need any fancy video editing or what. The way you explain it is very simple yet easy to understand. Thanks for the lesson!

Allez j'écris en français. Juste pour dire que cette vidéo est absolument brillante. Toutes les explications sont claires et je suis abasourdi de constater la quantité phénoménale d'informations dans celle-ci et la simplicité des explications. Non vraiment bravo.

David, I simply am blown away by the quality of your work, the materials you provide in your free download and the clear, down to earth way you present. Thanks so much! If I can't improve my playing now, it's no one's fault but my own :)

Great lesson, I've been playing for years but been stuck in the minor pentatonic forever and been expanding to dorian and it's really opening up my soloing and this lesson was really helpful. Thanks!

seriously a very concise yet extremely interesting lesson, so much better than majority of modal lessons out there that just teach the positioning.

Thank you so much ... I've been stuck in the minor pentatonic scale for years and just haven't been able to get into that zone of soulfulness when soloing. Just adding a 2 and a 6 to my solo takes me there. Thanks so much for this!

Probably the most valuable channel when it comes to pedagogy. Period. As a guitar teacher for intermediate to advanced level, i use a lot of playbak and ideas to explain modes from this channel. Also, the way to explain theory, musical ideas are perfectly balanced and to the point. Plus the solos , rhythm etc... sounds really great . Congrats on the work.

David! I've been watching your videos for a few years, but now I've signed up for your channel and started learning from you. The different moods I've already learned couple of years ago, but I couldn't apply them, I was just running through the next not, used simply the scales of this moods but now I'm starting to understand the concept you've revealed to us. A BIG thank you my friend!

AHAHAHAHAHA!............... Not Playing well today?... David, let me tell you something!!! This little video right here shows me that ""YOU"" need to be creating a record, get with a female blues type singer and get at least 6 songs done with your soloing with your form.....Please, if you haven't as of yet, then you need to get it done, it needs to be done and should be done! ! David, you are far better and mores so unique than most of the guitarists here performing on youtube. This is in no way slanderous towards any of the guitarists that are out here performing, of which many, and I do mean many are Fantastic,,,, But, it just goes to show that you have a very unique Playing skill that would be very much appreciated and very well received. God Bless you Sir! ..............Now David! , get cracking on the record young man!

That backing track instantly reminds me of 'She's Not There' by (The Zombies?), or some song by BTO.
I remember humming to my moms vacuum cleaner when I was around 4 and thinking how neat it was that the 'warbling' in my head stopped when I hit the right pitch. I've been an ear player all my life and can pretty much play leads over anything due to the 'feel' of the progression and completely understand the 'attraction' of notes to the other and the relativity of notes within music. One is nothing without something for a comparison, as with most things. I always wanted to fill the enormous gaps in theory that I have as that's the true key to writing actual memorable music. It's interesting to see how much I actually know but don't know if that makes any sense. Been enjoying your videos for a few years now. Thanks David!

I appreciate what you are doing here. I used to do this back in my teen years - switch from "thinking" a line or riff, then playing off of that with the one scale I knew. Eventually lost my enjoyment of improvisation. Hoping you can help me rekindle that.

Your backing track is in the key of Amajor? Or Aminor? I'm confused because dorian is a minor mode right? So basically you can't use it in A major isn't it?

    • @Wallimann
      @Wallimann  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Right! The track is an A minor vamp. Dorian is part of the minor fam because it has a minor 3rd

Can somebody please explain if its sane to use b minor pentatonic over the progression at 14:15as David suggested? The progression seems to be Am - D-C-Am. IMO since the progression doesn’t even contain B minor chord in it, playing B minor pentatonic won’t always sound good. Ofcourse we can choose notes of b minor pentatonic scale in such a way so as to represent the underlying chord progression. But not all notes of this scale would sound good. e.g. if you play 5th of b minor pentatonic i.e. note F# over this same chord progression then it sounds pathetic.
Let me know if I’m wrong or missing something

Whatever / At the end we have to go back home ;)
    David, entends-je le bon chemin?
