Hello Denmark, I am from East Germany and I grew up with Olsen-banden. I can't express how much I appreciate this clip and the fact that you uploaded it here. This scene is legendary where I come from (probably as much as in Denmark). The most hilarious heist of the Olsen-banden. I have seen all the movies multiple times since childhood. I love the Olsen-banden, Hans Christian Andersen, Friedrich Kuhlau and I love Denmark. God bless Morten Grunwald and Jes Holtsø, the only actors still alive from this scene (o.k., I don't know about the supporting actors) and God bless Denmark! Greetings form Germany!
1 av dom bästa scenerna i HELA film-serien. Älskar Olsen-Banden sedan jag köpte & kollade in Boxen våren 2019. Blev genast ett stort fan & sen dess blev jag en danofil. 💙
This is truly a timeless masterpiece, not only because great acting and the music perfectly fit together. Its espacially the timing and last but not least the idea.
My Dad grew up with the Olsenbande in east Germany and he discovered one day that they are going to be shown in free TV every saturday for three months, so he made my then 4 year old brother and 10 year old me also huge fans. This is in my opinion the cleverest thing they have ever done and now, seven years later I could still watch it without an end. I wish we could use TNT in our schools orchestra!
@@Furzkampfbomber Yes! In school we had a robotics club which of course I was part of, and with the LEGO Mindstorms NXT we tried to recreate something similar and attended a competition with it (Jugend Forscht). Those were good times!
There are two things about this that makes it AMAZING. 1. is Friedrich Kuhlau - Elverhøj which in my opinion easily could be on the level with the greatest compositions, but sadly is not that well known. There is so much power in this music. 2. Is the idea behind this scene. It's nothing but genius and I have never seen anything like it in modern cinematic. It's funny, it's tense, it's so marvelous and keeps the audience glued to the screen. I really wish the world knew about this scene and movie in general.
As a kid me and my sister constantly acted out this scene with any orchestra music we could find (mostly brahms and beethoven) what a glorious movie. My sister even learned some danish (though I cant speak or write it)
The song where they stand up is the first of the two national anthems in Denmark (yea we got 2). This is called "The King song" (Kongesangen), and it represents the monarchy. The other one we have is "Der er et yndigt land" (There is a lovely land) represents the people. Both songs are much loved.
Beste Szene in dem Film. Ich bin Deutsch und damit aufgewachsen. Beste Filme einach.😂👌🏻😊😊💗💗💗💗💗 (I am german and grew up with this. Best films. And this is the best scene of THIS movie.)
I'm British and prior to reading the TV Tropes page that linked directly here, I'd never heard of the series, and I've gotta say, this is a very impressive sequence. And it's not the 1812 which is a refreshing change.
@@tjudiUnder the page for Olsen-banden: Mickey Mousing: Invoked in one of the most famous scenes of the series is in "Olsen Banden Ser Rødt", in which the gang breaks into the royal theater of Copenhagen while the orchestra is playing (a rearranged version of) the Overture to the Danish national play "Elverhøj". As the break-in requires many noisy tools and explosives, Egon has brought a note sheet so that he can time the crime perfectly to the music so they won't be heard. It's quite brilliantly done. At last, a literal case of Orchestral Bombing!
This just shows that Olsen Banden have such impeccable timings that they probably could have been professional musicians themselves instead of criminals =)
XD

The only thing that bothers me, is that BFB on the dvd of this film says, no one knew and didn't complain - of course not, back then the social media didn't exist. I bet many musicians when they saw the film, said the same thing as my dad, after the credits had rolled, my dad said "somethings wrong with the overture" so my dad went home to check, and found something had been changed.
You guys don't know the amount of research i had to do to found this movie again . Had to go through a mission in a game called payday 2 to be able to find this and it was worth it

@@mortenchristiansen4331 Yeah, but I just can't believe you can fit 23 bombs in 8 holes. Also, there's a moment where one of the criminals activate the detonator but nothing explodes.
Yes, Denmark has two national anthems. One is what we sing when we have to be formal like involving the queen is "Kong Christian stod ved højen mast", the other we sing at the football stadium, meaning, this is for the people and that is "Der er et yndigt land". Hidden gem at 2:12: "Jerntæppe" means "Iron curtain", probably a pun on the geopolitical iron curtain back in the day.
I have a strong feeling it referring to the fire safety device that separates off the stage from the auditorium in case of fire.
