Ken Griffey Jr., often hailed as one of the most gifted baseball players of his era, seemed to have it all. Fans adored him, and his career appeared to be a perfect one, filled with success. But behind the glory, there was a hidden darkness that few could have imagined. In a shocking revelation, it was discovered that the beloved superstar had attempted to take his own life and the manner in which he did so was terrifying!
I was never a Griffey fan I found him to be over rated in my opinion after he left Seattle he got injury prone while playing with Cincinnati ended up with the Chicago white Sox a shell of his former self I was happy he was no longer junior like before he was on his way out he hated the Yankees from what I heard billy Martin treated Ken Griffey badly while he was a Yankee that was bad on martins part if he did that to Ken Griffey senior I liked him I was glad that he was a Yankee but the bad treatment I didn't know because billy martin treated his dad bad while he was a Yankee that didn't mean for junior to take it out on all Yankee fans and the Yankees too which he did Yankee fans hated him back it is what it is
How is it possible that you thought Griffey Jr was overrated. Elaborate..
he never played in a world series just 1 playoff and yeah they beat the Yankees and then Cleveland took them out I thought Seattle was going to beat them easily with Griffey, Randy Johnson,Edgar Martinez they still lost the press made him seem like a great one man show to me he wasn't while he was with Seattle he was doing pretty good for himself there I couldn't figure out why he picked Cincinnati reds of all the teams that wanted him he could have gone to more contender like teams when he went to Cincinnati he just faded out not like when he was with Seattle I thought he'd stayed there till he retired he ended up with the Chicago white Sox at the end of his career that was sad but it happens sometimes these really good or great players end up with sub par teams in the end of they're time that to me is very sad
@eddieq2189 baseball is a team game. You can't expect one player to carry the whole team. If that's the case, then every other star player on that team was also overrated. The guy was a 5-tool player and did it at a very high level for a long period of time. He could hit, he hit for power, he could throw, he could run, and he was a great defensive outfielder. When he played, he was considered one of the best players of his era. He put up hall a fame numbers. Regardless of how his career ended, that should not tarnish his accomplishments. I wonder what you think about Mike Trout? Is he overrated also. He hasn't won anything with the Angels, but he has arguably been the best player in baseball for the past 10 years.
Yankee fans are mostly trash. My friends that are Yankee fans told me that
I guess he was overrated in an era full of steroids right? He was the only one that never used steroids during that era buddy so make it make sense
Still my all time favorite player..his stance and swing was smooth.
Best swing from the left side I have ever seen.
Have you ever seen Billy Williams?
And bonds
I was about to comment this but I was thinking best swing period
Best swing I've ever seen
Flawless swing smh
Griffey was my favorite player growing up and being a left handed batter I loved his effortless smooth swing that made great power.
Mine too
Loved watching Griffey, Buhner, Edgar and all the smash brothers that played for the zmariners in the 90’s and 2000’s. Fun to watch!!!! Go M’s!!!!
Junior was one amazing player ❤
Been watching baseball since 85 he’s the best all around baseball player I’ve ever seen.
I remember that 1998 season he hit 56 home runs,Griffey Jr and Barry bonds have the best fluid left hand swing I've ever seen
Yes his swing was different. We are all being taught to stay on top of ball with mostly a back hand swing. If you watch him, he is mostly front hand dominant with more of a pulling action.
❤
I met Ken at the Tucson International Airport years ago when his kids were playing here at the U of A. I almost cried, had to hold my composure. He said, "C'mon, let go take some pictures." And pictures we took. We talked and he signed a baseball for some kid there that just happened to have one on him for some reason. He's an overall great guy in and out of baseball and I'll never forget that day and will take that day with me to the grave.
He is my favorite athlete of all time. I KNOW I wouldve cried!!!!!
Most gifted baseball player ! May the universe create more Griffeys !
Griffey jr is my favorite player of all time tied with Sheffield. Loved watching those 2 growing up
I remember watching gary Sheffield for the dodgers growing up , he always did that thing wiggling the bat . Dude was a great player .
Ken Griffey Jr. should've been the greatest center fielder that has ever played... but my guess is, he was more interested in acceptance from his own father no matter what he chose to do with his life
In 1989 or 90 We had Griffey Sr and Jr at a baseball card show I was working at . I remember sitting with Jr and just chatting about baseball and working out. Who would have known he would have gone on to have an Incredible career.
Sweetest swing of ALL TIME!
Griffey had one of the nicest swings I’ve ever seen.
The man had over 600 homeruns over a 22 year career...extraordinary accomplishments despite the critics.
He would've had 700+ had it not been for injuries!
@@oscarlogrono511Shoot I say 800+
@@BigMike_RTTV most def. But I didn't wanna spazz!
Easy @@oscarlogrono511
@@BigMike_RTTVit could have been possible too! And clean too no additives!
I miss watching Junior play.
Griffey will always be the GOAT!!!!…….he changed the game, no doubt!!
If he would not have gotten so many injuries going to Cincinnati, he could have possibly been the home run leader. He would’ve definitely had at least 700 home runs
Amen.
The Greatest HR hitter of All Time the King of Swing made hitting a HR with Ease and Class making it look Smooth some with Say ahhht awwwh He isn't if he never Got hurt !!!! No one made it look Better The Man the Myth the Legend
JR was an Icon and made bridged the gap between old timers and the new generation in the 90s..once that cap went backwards it was like Rocky punching his gloves together! He was always around the clubhouse in his dad’s prime…no matter what color he was ICONIC!
He the only big hitter to never been alledged to have taken steroids
It really is cool that he didn't do that....but imagine what he would have done if he was on them.....man.....i really loved watching him out there........
Need to anchor our lives to our Creator,Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ🙏🏼
I found griffey j to be electric he was a monster on the field....if not for injuries he might well be the all time HR king I hope he has some luck........man he was awesome.
He was the opposite of bonds. He was the kid he got injured, he didn't take steroids, i respect that
That was real baseball , RESPECT,❤
I have more than 25 rookie cards in mint condition, and 8 pairs of the Nike Griffey shoes BRAND NEW IN A BOX.😮😮😊
How many of those rookie cards of Jr’s are from Upper Deck? Man those were a hot commodity when they came out.
@@cmqguy I have Topps, Upper Deck, Fleer, and Score Trader. 🤔💪👍
@@cmqguy A couple of Don Russ also.
At least he wasn’t a cheater like the bash sisters, d rod, bonds and the rest of those so called athletes.
Clickbait
The most beautiful swing of all time.
or Barry Bonds.
@@truthoverfacts9254 absolutely
@@jacksavage279 Just thought of Will Clark.
@@truthoverfacts9254 yessir.
THE GREATEST!!! BEST SWING YOU WILL EVER SEE!
He’s a legend tho🔥💥
Our favourite players favourite player
My childhood hero
I studied Griffey Jr. Growing up. He's my all time favorite player
Same here! I was such a huge fan.
Why does the thumbnail looks like he’s hit rock bottom on drugs? Click baiting like crazy.
And the AI voice is all choppy with the stats sounding all wacky…
Sweetest swing ever
There was NOTHING sad, I've been one of the better players all my life in NYC and the pressure from THAT is crazy. I couldn't imagine what Griffey felt.
I give up… who ARE you???
Griffey left the Mariners after the second game of a four-game series with the Minnesota Twins, leaving in the middle of the night for a cross-country drive to his home in Florida.
Classless move, that was.
It's called depression. He didn't feel well emotionally...
BEST SWING EVER!!!!!!!!
Tony Perez had his uniform number 24 retired in 2000 with the Cincinnati Reds.
@@MarlonMPerez Tony was a great player and a very good 1st baseman he deserved that honor a great power and rbi man no question especially with men in scoring position he was very dangerous to pitch too men on base or off he could hurt you with his bat
Les and Ken see" that's the way the truth is " life saving work...Fritz...Heudepol Classic..lol. save me a seat least seat at the Winton Terrace Bridge... No Way!! When I said beautiful part [ with all these]... the screen color change..❤️🩹🤍❣️💋
Had he not left seattle or gotten hurt he would have 700 plus home runs
Bro that big skip at the end ruined ALL momentum u had building up to a good ending. 🎉
If he could have stayed healthy he would’ve been the all time home run leader ever. Not Barry Bonds!
My gawd this thing is all over place. Could have been better put together. Some of the footage doesn't line up with the narration. These AI voices are faulty too
Not a secret, it’s in a kids autobiography book about him. Knew this in 95.
Just unfortunate he wasn't healthy once he was entering the 2000s. Otherwise we might have seen him crack the 700s.
1:15 that Reds footage is of Sr, his father.
Ample eyewitness testimony....
DUDE THE THUMBNAIL, He doesnt deserve that..I get ,i watched, but cmon
Ken griffey was an American league player.😅
👍
The narrator is disconnected with baseball.
Who were the .62% that didn’t think he was good enough!
Wait, isn't that the same reason Vlad does want to play for yankees? Is Vlad making his up?
Mt. AIRY, Mt. HEALTHY. Mt. AUBRON. North College Hill..
This is such old news.
😮
Img if he was on roid how much hr can he hit??
He is still alive!?
Cal Ripken!!!
imagine Griffey on steroids he might have past Hank, what a beautiful swing
At the Lords Evening Meal..
Maybe a little less AI next time.
JR
AI click bait. “The Kingdom” hahaha
Griffey or Griffey Jr?
@11:11 Shout out to LeBron James!
The swing that every kid in little league tried to mimic. Good times.
Could have shown the plauqe
He drank too much tonic head got too big coach had too boot him
He’s still being paid from his contracts
Definitely an AI video
Any time I hear one of these videos that have been robo-voiced over, I immediately stop the video and block the channel permanently.
If you can't narrate your own video you shouldn't be making videos.
Ken wouldn't play for the Yankees.
that slot of asprin . hevmust hadcsome headach i rember when i dod 200 bottles of asprin what a pain stocking that shelf i had just hesrd kenny was alive when everyonevsaying tgey just killed kenny lol south park i think i had south park pharmacy route i fodnt work i made belive i did just soni could stock the house of marine celona lol she krpt complaing about somr one named kevin so i became vinnie the asprin when ever marie had a problem she would call me to end it one time shevhad math problem i said count my money lol bu time she was donr inhad a headach incalp it my brain headsche
This AI narrator sucks. E-S-P-Y award? "point blah blah batting average"?
A least seat...
he still made millions after retirement. how is he sad?
Hate to break it to you $ don’t cure everything.
There's a void that only Jesus christ can fill. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul
Money has nothing to do with it. Sucks when u think success will cure it an it doesnt....extremely lonely feeling after you realize it.
@@pnajera3938 that’s Right Amen 🙏 Brother couldn’t of put it any better.
The bigger the bank account, the bigger the problems...
JESUS is the only way to true happiness..
Money alcohol drugs etc nothing brings you true happiness and comfort like the only savior..
Try it, you won't regret it
Yankees suck
Cano had a sweeter swing ?
Sounds kinda weak. Talking bout, I'm a millionaire baseball player. Muh Dad got me in. Now I go home and he's bothering me. I'm gonna kill myself. Really?
Maybe you should get a narrator who has a clue what sports are….”Griffey hit point three three three”. “Earned an E-S-P-Y award”. Who is this? Or is it another AI garbage channel?
Make the videos align with the commentary. Every single video!
Thank you for your feedback we are continuously workking to improve our videos
What a stupid premise for a video. Dude is only a Hall of Famer. You start by talking about something from like 35 years ago. Yeah. He's lived a horribly privileged life.
