One of my all time favourite shows. I remember my parents tuning in to watch it after my dad got in from work. Id sit with them and we'd pick our winner. So much better than the crap that passes as Saturday night entertainment now a days.
Back when singing competitions weren’t full of criticism of their contestants. Stars in Their Eyes was wholesome family TV. And Matthew Kelly was a fab host. I would have been 13 when this episode aired. Miss those days. Miss the 90’s.
I used to love watching stars in their eyes it was fun show and Mathew Kelly was great and the contestants where good singer's in their own right i wish they would bring it back, thanks for showing it on utub it brings back memories of how good those songs were i like the boy George act me and my sister use to dance in my living room to boy George and other songs of the 80s &90 we had some good times then i also love patsy clyne and mo town rod Stewart and some Barry Manalow songs thows were the days.
It was bought back once more after this with Cat Dealey as host. Altogether 3 times, first time Leslie Crowther, Second time Matthew Kelly, third time Cat Dealey.
Me and my dad used to hunker down when my mum was on a night shift with a bag of sweets and watch this together. What I wouldn't give to crack this on with a bag of Revels to share with my dad today 💚
Boy George I was not a fan because of that fateful song. But then I saw and heard what you did for that girl on the voice and I am so impressed. I also liked the transformation from 1993 Boy Gorge to 2002 Boy George is amazing. Thank for changing my mind on a great artist!!!!!
I saw the best winners in Worthing theatre. Neil Diamond, Cher, Edith Piaf and Roger Whittacker. It was a brilliant night, must have been about same time as this video
It is just a real shame that television is not worth watching anymore as television was not full of criticism of it is presenters or contestants then unlike nowadays

It might have been partly because of Harry Hill, or maybe that in this day and age, people have even more choice on television and more choice elsewhere to other things. 😲

Classic sat night tv. I always thought it was always kinda embarrassing for the contestants to show the number of votes they got like lulu on 4k compared to Allison on 40k lol..poor lulu!
Six years later, they had a champion of champions special featuring the first ten series winners - Alison Moyet came last with 16k, while Chris De Burgh (from series ten) vapourised the lot with 481k! What goes around...
