    Good shooting.That Ronin red dot is a nice addition for your Rossi Rs22. Looks like a fun day shooting.Thanks again for another good video.

      Nelson. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. The Ronin is a nice red dot and worked really well with the Rossi. When I get out a little distance my eyes are not so great with a red dot, but they are nice to shoot with. It is always a nice day when shooting especially with a .22. Thanks again and take care.

    Always a pleasure to see your work. Thank you for always documenting it so well, much appreciated!
    Now if we could only cut the breeze down a bit. LOL

      74Willy. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing. The wind is a bit of a pain when I am shooting. I probably need better cameras than what I have to cut down on the wind noise. I am not monetized so it is all on my dime, plus I'm old. It is just fun shooting. Thanks again and you take care. PS: my plan is to go shooting again tomorrow, probably accompanied by the wind (bummer).

      @@bobcatforever3485 No complaints from this end about any of it, you do an excellent job on every facet. Wind is what it is and you do a great job dealing with it, never what we want but most of us can feel your pain when it rears it's ugly head. No apologies needed for what you do, like I say it takes a lot of work and time and we appreciate it. Always enlightening.
      Thank you sir!

      @@74willy81 Thanks. Sorry, I was off a bit with my comments. I was down shooting again today, along the way the wind picked up off and on. Not only that a I think a bird poo'd on my one camera lens and I did not see it until I was packing up. When I copy the files it will be interesting to see what it looks like. Thanks again and take care.

    My Red dots obscure the target at 50 yards or more. Good Shootn

    • @bobcatforever3485
      @bobcatforever3485  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Arro. Thanks. I did not really plan on shooting from 50Y. I actually sited the gun in at just 20Y and was planning on doing some free-standing shooting from 20-30Y, which I still plan to do. I had the same issue as you, red dot covers too much of the target at further distances. Thanks again and take care.

  • @johnh4957

    nice to not get any duds! On 20yd with minimags I get frustrated with a group that is a circle around the bullseye, like there is some force preventing them hitting within that circle! The 50yd from bench comparable to the 20yd from tripod I'm thinking.

    • @bobcatforever3485
      @bobcatforever3485  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      John. Thanks. You're right, for the number of rounds I shoot everything ran fine. The first 20Y shooting without the camera was ammo from my friend Jim, that must have been really good consistent ammo, probably subsonic. The Mini Mags at 1235 fps tend to spread out a bit more. I agree with you, I was a bit surprised with the 50Y results. The low-cost red dot on a low-cost rifle makes for fun gun to shoot. John, thanks again and you take care.

      Steven. Thanks. Sorry to hear about the issue with your eyes. That must make things very difficult. My main goal with this was to set the gun up so I could do some free-standing plinking from 20-30Y. Still to be done. Thanks again and take care.

    Hey Bobcat, don't beat yourself up, that 50 yard group is pretty impressive with the red dot there. Could you mount it closer to the bore line? It looks like you don't have a good cheek weld.
    Them mini mags can affect your groups i have found, Maybe try some Norma subs if you can get them where you are, they work well for me, plus they're a lot cheaper than mini mags. I know you guys across the pond can lay your hands on a lot more ammo than us in the UK so keep trying different rounds.
    I really enjoy your no-nonsense, real world presentations mate, keep 'em rolling.

    • @bobcatforever3485
      @bobcatforever3485  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Buckshootaaa. Thanks for viewing and commenting. That group was better than my normal, but I'll take it. I took another look at the red dot mount, there is an adapter to get from dovetail to the standard rail which raises the red dot up an extra 1/2" or so. If the red dot were setup for a direct dovetail mount it would be better and save that extra 1/2". In regard to ammo, I generally like to shoot CCI Standard Velocity when shooting groups, not sure why I was shooting the Blazer that day except that it was cheap back when I bought it several years ago. Hope things are well there in the UK. Thanks again and take care.

      Fls360. Thanks Very Much. I always appreciate you taking a look and commenting. The optic worked just fine considering its relatively low cost. When I get out too far with a red dot, I don't do very well. But that was fun. Thanks again and take care.

    Red Dots may be alright for some people but i will stick to my scopes

    • @bobcatforever3485
      @bobcatforever3485  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gary. Thanks. I mostly agree with you. Most of my rifles do have scopes on them mainly because I don't shoot red dots very well. And for me beyond 30 yards or so it is hard for me to see the target very well with a red dot. My original plan was to set this gun up so I could plink around with-it free standing from 20-30 yards, I actually sighted it in at 20 yards. Thanks again and take care.

      @@bobcatforever3485 you're enjoying yourself and that's what matters. Your clusters weren't too bad either. I need to get one of those tripods. I have a rail adapter and the ezshooter red green dot tactical sight that should be here in the next couple days. Have a good one buddy.

If you pick up one of those tripods, I think you will like it. It is handy when shooting from odd distances when you just want a little support. Hope you get a lot of use out of you new red green dot. Stay safe.

    That’s a sweet little 22Lr 👍🏻 And that Red dot looks consistent Boy it sits high is there a low mount configuration as well? Another fun Vid.🍻🇺🇸🤜🏻

    • @bobcatforever3485
      @bobcatforever3485  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No Pro. Thanks. I did replace the higher mount with the lower one, but it is still really high. The red dot for the price seemed to run well, that is as well as I am able to shoot it. Plus, Mini Mags are not necessarily the best for shooting groups, at least for me. That ammo from my friend Jim was actually better. Thanks much again and take care.

    My Rossi seems to like the standard velocity ammo better than the hot stuff...🙂

      @bobcatforever3485  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hoosier. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. I agree with you, when shooting groups, I tend to use CCI Std Vel or something similar. It seems that the higher velocity ammos shoot more inconsistent. Thanks again and take care.

    The mount for the Red Dot has what looks to be "excess" pointing back towards your eye! Should it be set more forward, or can it be set more forward? Know you used the lower mount, but it is set so high that you had to use a "chin weld" in place of a "cheek weld" Over all how do you like this Red Dot for adjustments?

    • @bobcatforever3485
      @bobcatforever3485  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      SC Rider. Thanks. I appreciate your taking a look. I'm not sure I can give you a good answer to how I set up the Red Dot. I used a dovetail adaptor that I just happened to have on hand and likely did not get it set up as to what would have been best. A side note, on another video I took a look at a Votatu P3X red dot, much nicer to shoot. The adjustment on the Ronin worked fine. Thanks again and take care.

      Farmallchris. Thanks. I appreciate your viewing and commenting. That is a good question, I wish I had a good answer. I expect I had a 3-9X40 scope on the RS22 prior to the Red Dot, but not sure (sorry). Thanks again and take care.

    Did you have to drill holes in your Rossi I just bought one today but don't know how to put a red don't on it

    • @bobcatforever3485
      @bobcatforever3485  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Victor. Thanks for taking a look. What you need is an adaptor to go from Dovetail Cuts on your Rossi to a Picatinny rail. I believe that is from 11 mm to 22 mm. Type into Amazone "Dovetail Adaptor" and lot of stuff will come up. Most red dots will fit on the Picatinny rail. Good luck and take care.
