About Shepard being a "lawyer", there is precedent in many militaries. Before the US military created a branch known as JAG or Judge Advocate General Corps i.e. military lawyers and judges, an accused servicemember's Commanding Officer was the one designated to defend him in a court martial.
"Unsafe deceleration" and "unscheduled sub-orbital descent" sounds like the kind of gobbledygook the Hazard Analysis lawyers make us insert into technical design documentation at the automotive firm where I work.
Fun fact: if you chose "He can't escape the law now", then Shepard will hand Taylor over to the Alliance to face prison time. If you chose "I'd shoot him", Jacob will refuse to shoot his father but will give him a pistol and walk away and Taylor will look at the gun and said "it's got one bullet, it won't stop them" and as Jacob walk away he's say "it's not for them dad".
Jacob's not that bad. He's just plain. I personally think they should have leaned in to him struggling with the dark side of Cerberus. He's clearly a moral guy (as evidenced by his follower quest) so that can be played up. At least with Miranda, you get why she'd end up with Cerberus and try to justify even if she doesn't approve of certain things, but Jacob is just iffy.
You recognize Shoreh Agadashloo from The Expanse as Admiral Shala'Raan, but the other Admirals are VA veterans as well! Admiral Daro'Xen is Claudia Black, Admiral Han'Gerrel's VA voiced multiple characters in the Dragon Age series, and Admiral Zaal'Korris' VA is Alfred from the Batman Arkham games. There's a ton of unique dialogue if you bring your final squadmate with you to Tali's loyalty mission, but that'd screw up the timeline for the Suicide Mission.

Since you're close to the end of this game, I just want to say that I've watched a lot of Mass Effect playthroughs on TH-cam, but yours have been, by far, among my favorite. I almost hate to see it end, but I am happy that ME3 is still available for you to record. re: your failed tattoo story. I had been carrying around the idea for my first tattoo for a few years in my head, a celtic raven that ran down my upper arm, with wings outstretched to my spine and the top of my breastbone. I had saved for a while, and finally had the money, the design and the drive all at the same time. When I announced to my then girlfriend that I was going to start looking for the right artist to actually lay down the ink, she told me, in no uncertain terms, that she hated tattoos and, if I got one, our relationship would be over. I, being somewhat younger, more innocent & pliable, and a lot less like Zaeed than I am nowadays, acquiesced, and we spent the next few weeks blowing through the money (mostly, because I was dumb, on her). Not 2 weeks after the money was spent, she got a tattoo.
Nice to see another Expanse fan. If you talk to Veetor and Kal Reegar before going to the Alarei you can use rally the crowd and they both speak up for Tali and get her acquitted. It's the way to stop her from being exiled if you don't have the red or blue option available.
1:34:38 You actually got the low-key version of this. I've seen other playthroughs where Shepard yells "WE CAN USE THIS!" in this part. It's hilariously jarring.

The devs really did Jacob dirty. Sucks cuz his loyalty mission is one of the darker missions in the game. Smh missed opportunity. Tali's loyalty mission is by far my favorite of the crew tho

When I first started ME2 I really liked Jacob and despised Miranda. But Miranda developed and grew as a character, and Jacob...did not. By the end of the game Miranda was one of my favorites and Jacob was just there. FemShep getting all flirty for no reason was annoying, and I hated his Romance. He doesn't even really seem interested in her at all. "But the priiiiize" was a definite ick.

Jacob AND Miranda are my least favorite companions in ME2. They are jerks to almost everyone we meet and don't demonstrate many likeable qualities. Miranda is salvaged a bit with her loyalty mission, but not the case for Jacob. He's just shown to NOT be AS BAD as his father, which is a low bar.

Why do people keep saying they think scars are sexy. I guess they mean in fantasy as I doubt she or any other player want a scare on their faces. Like the choice she with Jacob's dad though as a lot of players send him to prison which keeps him alive which is what he wants.
