      damn thats why K Nunn was out, well hopefully since Ja is young, he can recover soon, this sucks, he has a very reckless playstyle and he plays so much bigger than his frame, he can take blows like Lebron and other strong and big players, he has an AI build, but hes not even as big as D Rose, but he plays reckless, hes always falling down, trying to make a highlight play, hes going to have to change his playstyle in order to have a long lasting career cause hes just too little to try to poster every 7 footer lol just do a layup bro lol marathon not a sprint lol work smarter not harder

    Dr. Sutterer, as usual, you're right on point and a great informative breakdown of bone bruises ... From personal experience. I've been diagnosed with a bone bruise or contusion In a severe work accident that involved a very high level of force/ trauma. But when you hear the term " bruise" it really does no justice to the degree of injury and impairment it may really cause. I agree with you, and it's no minor thing when you require and demand peak performance of your body. Maybe mild in relation to true fractures, (which I have also had of my tibia) I really appreciate that you mention they are in fact "stress" fractures" of the bone. Thanks, Doc!

    Ja has to becareful he loves jumping super high and he has to be careful when he lands he can buckle a knee or ankle in the moment of the game. Not to mention he bumped his knee first when he contested Klay Thompson, not saying that caused the whole thing but it could’ve tweaked it and later when JP tried to steal the ball in the double team it got tweaked more.

  • @dahwe12

    The Grizzlies management should consider how much pressure they are putting on Ja to carry their team. There are a lot of examples in the NBA of Teams relying on their star players too much and running their health and careers into the ground. There are also lots of examples of players that like to dunk explosively, but land like rocks and eventually developing knee or leg problems as their careers progressed.

    Ja is a fantastic talent that much is obvious but his play style is going to lead to more of these type of injuries moving forward. It's very much similar to D Wade & D Rose where their explosiveness at this stage in their career is what primarily made them great but ultimately became their downfall as the constant impact from high flying plays and subsequent landings catches up with them. I hope for a speedy and full recovery for Ja but it's more than likely we won't see him again until 2023 season

  • @LASTRIKE
    @LASTRIKE 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    Ja should get some advice from Derrick Rose. He is a great talent but he can't sustain that kind of explosive playstyle in the long run. Ja needs to learn to slow down a bit.

      Compare Lebron's explosiveness with Ja's. Lebron has thick muscles supporting his knees...Ja's knees look like a 12 year old's...So while Ja isn't carrying a lot of weight, his super-explosiveness is enough to put a huge amount of stress on those junior-sized knees...?

    It's more likely a knee to knee type contact
    Or maybe even a knee to court...
    Which btw either could've even initial happened in a previous practice that any substantial contact to said bruised area was the final blow
    I don't see the tug playing a role at all tbh
    And review clearly proves that it definitely wasn't intentional...
    Nor does that reflect anything close to JP's style/persona to deliver any type cheap shot

    How did Jordan Poole touching the knee cause a bone bruise? That isn't possible. Ja was injured before this double team action. He was limping before this sequence. This is his previously injured right knee. Seems like he bumped it or otherwise injured it a few minutes earlier where he can be seen limping.

    Grizzlies without Morant: 20 wins, 4 losses.
    They are better without him. Morant is surely exciting player, he reminded me of Derrick Rose and Dwyane Wade during their primes, but that style of play is heavily taxing on their body.
    Ja tweeted a shot at Kerr's "the code" remark, but then deleted it. He probably is an honest guy, and clearly remembered that he already felt the sore even before Poole's yank.
    Tonight in game 5, they led GSW by 52 points, ending the game with 134-95 win in FedexForum.

    He did bump knees when he jumped to KT 3 pointer a few minutes earlier. Maybe it started here and got worse afterwards. Who (outside of Memphis) thinks a pull with a few fingers can damage a knee... you can stress a small injury by over extended knees, bumping into a defender, running and PLAYING basketball! I think coach should apologized to Poole, the accusation was not justified at all!

  • @heiroshi

    I'm a biased hockey fan... Hockey players play with much worse injuries through playoffs! A lot needing offseason surgery. What are your thoughts? Hockey players have played through torn ACLs, broken thumbs, fracture fibulas throughout the playoffs... a bone bruise keeps Ja out for potentially the whole playoffs? A whole month??? I understand the activities are different, but how does a bone bruise rule someone out for possibly the whole playoffs?

    • @tzehuan
      @tzehuan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am no expert but I am guessing the location of the injury and which type of sports you are playing, will determine how long you are out. I think if the bone bruise is in his back or shoulder, he might be able to play. But basketball is mostly on the knee since you are jumping all the time, that bone bruise effectively render you pretty much useless if you can't run or can't jump.
      Think like this, if you have an injury where you cannot lift your arm, if you are a hockey player, or a hockey goalie, you are definitely out. However if you are a soccer player, you may be able to play through it since it does not impact your performance like if you are hockey player does.
      That would be my guess.

    I suffered a non-contact bone bruise in my knee last year, probably from a hyper extension. Just felt a couple of cracks in ny knee and went down. No swelling afterwards but needed 8 weeks to be back. So I kinda believe the grab in an awkward position could cause damage.
