Am i reading this right, during the flat spin execution youre giving full elevator and full left aileron, but then it acrually spins clockwise with the nose turning rightwards ??
I don't always use full pitch up input, at really high angles of attack I just need to command counter roll, and yes, just as you noticed, roll to left produces yaw to the right and roll to the right produces yaw to the left. :) I have an entire video explaining interesting things about post stall maneuvers, this in particular is also explained there towards the end (I leave the link below), but long story short, you kinda need to see the jet like a windmill at such high angles of attack. ^^ th-cam.com/video/vhF8TLkWCtM/w-d-xo.html
Thanks! I've done some even slower rolls than those actually! The trick is to fly veeeeeery fast xDDD And pitching up slightly before beginning the roll also goes a long way in alleviating pressure from the rudders, which in turn allows for better control ^^
@@double_0_6ix26I feel the same about the Sukhoi line, hahaha! But yeah, the Raptor also has wicked looks! (I wouldn't have bought one otherwise). It looks kinda 'alien' :D
@@RC4ever still looks futuristic considering how old it is. However I do love the su-57. Possibly cause it has that similar look to the f22. I wish one of the top companies would release one already so I can add it to my hanger. Do you ever plan to mod your f22 with thrust vectoring?
@@double_0_6ix26I do, but further down the road, when my other projects are more advanced... I wonder at what point in time people will look back and see the F-22 as an 'old looking jet' hahaha! It's kinda hard to envision, but guess so did think the WW2 pilots about their birds ^^
Beautiful video from a very good pilot who shows the fantastic features of this FW F22. A Fantastic wide flight envelope has this beautiful model. I also appreciate the slow flight characteristics that may also make it suitable for less experienced EDF pilots. Do you agree?
Thank you very much! Yes, I agree the F-22 should be suitable for RC pilots entering the EDF world! It's obviously not an aircraft for beginners, but should make a great first jet for pilots that are already somewhat proficient at flight, particularly if they regularly fly aerobatics :)
There are very good quality and low-effort 3d printed vector nozzles available - I totally recommend installing them, I use them and they are totally worth it!
I have this model basic 6s version, got it used for a great price, partially modded to 8s version I think, it is still on 6s ESC but has the motor swapped or the fan or both I believe. It's still on 6 channels, no gyro, so its a handful and lands very fast. I get maybe 2.5-3mins flying time on 6s 6000 packs, it's underpowered and nerve racking as hell and it's almost not worth the trouble to fly it, but I love it! Yours seems amazing though! I need to finish the conversion to 8s and upgrade my 8ch non as3x receiver to a 12ch with as3x to bind to my IX12 transmitter. For the record I fly the crap out of my electric P51 mustangs and other WWII fighters, and am known as somewhat of a hotdog, but this jet is a handful for me for some reason.
Is this your first jet? Sounds like something's totally off. Even with the abuse I hurl at it with intense aerobatic flying I get 3:30 to 4:30 min of flight time on average, on 8S 4200mAh batts, which woulf be equivalent to 6S 5600mAh batts in terms of energy. And even though I'm on the 8S version, I don't think I saw anyone describe the 6S one as underpowered as you report. I suggest you make sure you know what gear is installed on the jet, and its setup, including the timing of the ESC. Also, 6000mAh packs are pretty heavy. You'd probably be better on 6S packs instead!
I'm not sure it has a name as such... when I perform a complete turn like that I call it a loaded roll, and if it's really violent/ high AoA, cobra spin or cobra snap. But here it's only the first half of the maneuver until the jet is facing down for a vertical dive-exit and direction reversal, so that's that! :p Guess we could say half loaded roll then ^^
@RC4ever thanks, I've noticed f16s and other fighter jets with full stabs pulling that maneouver in air shows. Always looks so cool, great flying as always 😀

@@RC4ever thanks, good to know I wasn't going crazy!!! 😄
@@EDF_FANaticNopenope! Good eye!
And BTW, these are the kind of comments I like the best, thank you! :DDD
Man, those slow rolls were way smoother than I would have expended for an airframe with slanted rudders like that!

Sick take off with the roll at the start. Man I love this bird. Best jet in the business ❤
Thank you! :D
Su-35 is even better! (at least aerobatic wise), but this one's clearly a top tier contender! :D
@@RC4ever 😂 Yh I know that's your top choice. But there has always been something about the f22 that makes me feel I could look at it for hours on end

I will certainly do!
It's only I have too many unfinished projects at the time, so my airworthy birds are untouchable in the meantime, lol, hahaha!
i made some for mine too and they make the flat spins slooooow so it look just like the real thing
@Estuardomendez13 In the meantime, I've been mastering the art of slow flatspins without VT, hehehe!

If you are thinking about the F-16 one, then it's definitely a loaded roll ^^@@EDF_FANatic
