I literally couldn’t pay attention to rest of the comic because my mind when on this tangent of “What happens when a teen shows a superpower in the marvel universe?”
Like do they call their parents and give them a pamphlet “Your child is a mutant, what comes next?”
Do they forward professor Xavier’s information? Are there other non-combat base mutant schools?
Do they have educational videos about it? “Your body is going through changes, not all of them are normal”.
How can schools possibly accommodate for children that can summon lighting?

Well, as far as I know, there were quite a few schools for superpowered kids at one point. Xavier's, the Massachusetts School, The Avengers Academy in Wisconsin, The Future Foundation...uhm...yeah. that's about all i can remember. Some schools don't even have things like this to turn to. It's weird. You would think the mutant scare would have calmed down a bit over time. But no. People are still weird about mutants.

Then the kids make fun of that kid for being a freak who can summon lightning then he begins to be a villain and summons a storm over the school
However in real life that wouldn’t happen at all

He also looks like John Wick. Maybe the hook hand is a ploy. He has a real robot hand that's all weapon-like because he's secretly on a hunt to kill all the villains of the world, Punisher style... or just because someone thought it would look cool. (spoiler: it doesn't).

How does Peter Parker know how to build the web shooting toys, the formula for webs,
afford either one, repair his costume, so many questions...
Must be knowledge from the Spider Totem event, some inherent genetic fate whatever.
Lost touch with the narrative of 20 years of comic book facts...
I do not expect to see the crude functions of a potty break, however, the basic functions
of reality do not play out, so the surface seems to work, the "rules" of fantasy grind on.

@@theunknowngamer5477 The sci-fi knowledge isn't that complicated. Peter is a science wiz and made during the Silver Age when kooks with gadgets that only they seemed to know how to make was pretty standard fair. How did Paste Pot Pete make his paste pot? I do appreciate the things that bug me in canon bug you. Seriously Peter could have grown another arm by perfecting Connors formula, fashioned an arm out of scraps in a cave himself or Deadpool could’ve forced Cable to give him an arm (you know he would’ve). The hook hand could be that Peter does not want everyone to know that he was Spider-Man, maybe he went to the hospital in civies with MJ in his arms and normal people do not get prosthetics from superheroes. It is obvious that Peter has not been Spidey since the death of MJ so he would not need a cyborg hand to fight crime. Maybe his powers ended after the bridge incident, we have seen his powers disappear due to emotional trauma.
BTW, Spider-Man is back in the MCU for at least one more movie!

Judging this by its intent, it was pretty bad. It wasn't shocking by any measure. Nearly everything in it has been seen before (in universe and out) and there are literally no stakes raised by the end. With that said, it has a typical Abrams "mystery box" that he puts in all of his stuff. But the answers for the mystery box is rarely satisfying. I give it a "meh" rating of ten.

In July 2002, Abrams wrote a script for a possible fifth Superman film entitled Superman: Flyby. Brett Ratner and McG entered into talks to direct, although Abrams tried to get the chance to direct his own script. However, the project was finally cancelled in 2004, due to Superman Returns.

It was okay. I'll be honest hearing about whos behind the book and how all that worked kinda bugs me. Getting into comics has kind of always been based on who you know so I can't really hold it against Abrams. Still kinda sucks because if this book takes a turn people might hold it against Henry in his future endeavors in comics and that would be a real shame. The hole Mary Jane being killed and then possibly cloned thing doesn't really do it for me either so I don't think I will keep up with it.

    Untitled Black-led film
In February 2021, Ta-Nehisi Coates was revealed to be writing a new Superman film for the DCEU that was in early development. J. J. Abrams was set as producer alongside Hannah Minghella, with no director or actors attached to the project yet. The film was expected to feature a Black actor portraying Superman, with potential for Michael B. Jordan to still take on the role after previously pitching himself as a Black version of the character. Coates said he was looking forward to "meaningfully adding to the legacy of America's most iconic mythic hero", while Abrams said the film would tell a "new, powerful and moving Superman story". This was reported by outlets as being a reboot of the franchise, but Richard Newby of The Hollywood Reporter felt the film starring a Black actor could indicate a new version of Superman that could exist alongside Cavill's portrayal within the DC Multiverse. Newby also noted that Coates' history as a non-fiction author and journalist focusing on African-American issues would give him "the insight and experience to delve further into the [Superman] mythos in a way never seen on screen".
Jordan said at the end of April that suggestions he star in the film were a compliment, but he would not be signing on to the role. The studio was in the early process of finding a director for the film at that point, and had committed to hiring a Black filmmaker for the project. They had met with potential directors by early May, working from a list that included Steven Caple Jr., J. D. Dillard, Regina King, and Shaka King; Dillard later said that he had not been approached for the film. Coates was not expected to deliver his script for the film until mid-December, and was believed to be introducing a new version of Kal-El / Superman in what was potentially a 20th-century period piece. The film was believed to be set in a separate universe from the DCEU at that point. In July, Jordan's reasoning for distancing himself from the film was reported to be due to the decision to portray Kal-El as Black rather than introduce a different Superman character that is already portrayed as Black in the comics such as Calvin Ellis or Val-Zod. This was seen by some as racebending a white character while "erasing" existing Black characters, a conversation that Jordan did not want to engage in. Instead, he began developing a limited series for HBO Max focused on the Val-Zod version of the character. In October 2022, Abrams and Coates' film was revealed to be set in a separate continuity from other DC franchises, similar to Joker (2019), and the film remained in active development by December under the then-recently formed DC Studios when its co-chairman and co-CEO James Gunn announced that he was writing a new Superman film.

Artistically, Peter Parker looks very harsh and his hair looks like it was colored too darkly. Good comic so far, but not revolutionary.

Peter looks kinda like Keanu Reeves here, and if they ever made this into a movie, I'd love to see a hook-for-hand Peter played by Keanu, which would be **sick guitar riff** excellent. Also, about the Faye Ito thing, they might have been referring to the Japanese tradition of addressing people by their last name and then first name (so if Peter were Japanese, he'd be addressed as Parker Peter), but it doesn't make sense why they're doing it in a non-Japanese environment, and if they're following Japanese traditions for some reason, why aren't they adding an honorific like san or chan to her name like it's done in Japan? (The honorifics wouldn't be used only by people very close to her, so it's not applicable to all her classmates) Why only go halfway? And why the hell are they calling her by her full name? That's so funny XD
Also, Ito means thread in Japanese, and the video I watched before this one was the one you made about AU Spideyfied Aunt May (Spiderma'am) who used knitting thread to catch criminals, and I really want Faye Ito to follow her footsteps

I always hated the whole "Son/Daughter of" legacy trope, because it doesn't make any sense.
Heroes lead dangerous lives, so why would they want to get their own flesh and blood involved? That's just insane.
This is perfectly showcased in Watchmen, where Laurie Juspeczyk walks around in a costume because... Her mother trained her to be a super heroine?
"Suit up and go out there to kick some drugged-up, violent, knife-wielding Knot Top ass and make mommy proud!"
Laurie hates being the Silk Spectre, because in her thirties she has no idea how to interact with normal people or how to even live a normal life.
I would play with this cliché trope though and set up the son as the potential new hero ready to follow in the footsteps of his father/mentor.
... And then kill the son off and have the father reclaim the mantle to avenge the death of his son.
Just because super heroes have children, doesn't mean those children are supposed to become heroes themselves.
It's a lame and lazy cliché.

Its easier to copy paste powers and persona to the offspring of a well established and loved hero instead of creating something new.

Astro City played with this trope with the hero Jack in the Box. He was payed a visit one night by two future versions of his unborn son, both of whom went down some very dark paths because of their father's death in the line of duty as a super hero

The issue of this comic is that it was kind of trite.
As an avid fan of Spider-Man I felt it was bits and pieces of other "Spider-Man is a father", especially Spider-Girl (down to 'Peter retires after a terrible fight against his enemy makes him lose a limb'). It doesn't help that to fridge a woman is seen very lazy in comics books and it is MJ, who is known to have very protective fans and to be usually ... contentious for editors and Marvel higher ups
The cinematic approach also remembered every teen drama.
Was it a well done one?
    KINDA?
Nothing really stood out to me to make me intrigued, and the ludicrous hype around it .... was kind of hard not to be extra-judgemental

The funny thing about "fanfic"... We use it to insult bad writing, then we demand that our movies, comics, and TV shows are made by people who are fans of the genre.

Meh. Even if I did care enough to pick the comic up and had never heard of J.J Abrams or his son, I'd still say the comic was average.
I'll point out that there are those J.J. isms that spring up here. Such as the dramatic opening involving a grim threat, followed by a black screen (or page) with white text telling us where we are now, and the main characters either bickering or not getting along.

Hook hand not the first time it’s happened in comics and it always bothers me. Although if he’s hiding the fact that he is spider man that is the best route.

If Peter Parker showed up with some Weird Hand and Spiderman "Who lost his arm in public" had an arm too it would cause problems. Spiderman is rocking Crazy New Arm under the panties and Peter has a normal prostetic.

the nepotism is pretty frustrating. The kid version of myself would probably really enjoy this story. While it does seems like an interesting comic, I feel for all of the writers who have honed their craft for years, who will never get to write for a SPIDER-MAN comic, while some kid (I'm sure he's a great kid) gets to go co-write one just because he was born. Spider-Man is not small potatoes. Or am I taking it too seriously and it's just a one time thing?

Oh,...the story??more of the same, not nearly enough story to give any meaningful commentary,......you know just set up for another typical story arc. PEACE dear sister, till next we meet around the comics rack.
