    Why do the cables have to hang out over the speedo? That looks beyond terrible!

    you can buy a factory skid plate but not a standard item.

    I didn't get to test this one, but it seems like it would be a fantastic beginner bike for somebody who doesn't really know whether or not they want to move toward sportbikes or cruisers as their bike of choice later on (or something else). A good in-betweener to get their feet wet in the world of motorcycling.

      It kind of is somewhere in that line. Or a good urban commuter as well. Maybe if you throw on some knobby tires and some spoke type wheels it could then be called a "Scrambler" and that 399CC power plant would make loads of fun of the road.

      It's a bit small though ...
      The 800cc is for men and this is for boys ... no?

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well if you actually like to go and play in the mud this one could be bought a bit cheaper and put some tires and kits on it with the money saved to take this one out to play. Then again the difference is not that much in price and the 800 is much more power and ability.

      *****
      I am going for the 800cc displacement as I will be on the road. Perhaps a farmers track short cut (but NOT motor-cross).
      Also 'Intake express' don't do the PUK for the 400cc!
      In fact the after market is pretty good for the 800cc ... not so for the 400cc.

      That is interesting about the aftermarket.

    I was excited when Ducati announced this bike. Then I saw it was priced damn near as high as the regular Scrambler. Too bad about the lack of comfort too.

      @RabidHedgehog  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If this bike was closer to $6500 it would actually be a well priced bike for all the tech it has. And one could use that money saved on an excellent replacement seat :)

      +Rabid Hedgehog Good to know... maybe when they start showing up used on Craigslist in a year or two they'll be worth considering.

    MSRP sounds quite high for a city commuter IMO.

      I kind of is a bit much. It is not really much less than the full sized Scrambler. I just need to ride on those now.

      the price is the MAJOR negative for this bike, otherwise it would be great.

      Thank you sir! I still need to find a place that will let me take a KTM 390 out so I can be more informative.

    Between the Scrambler Sixty2 and the Kawasaki Vulcan S, which would you recommend for someone that has no experience with motorcycles before?

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Vulcan S. More usable power that you can grow towards using its full potential but also not super over powered where you can use it and still be comfortable. Also the thing is just darn more comfortable and for the most part cheaper (with exception of like SE versions of the Vulcan S) than the little Ducati even with ABS. So you get a liquid cooled 650 vs air cooled 399, more linear power from the 650 instead of a massive high end dead zone on the 399, more dealer support from Kawasaki as Ducati has not made a big splash into the market not to mention lower repair bills if something goes wrong. The Ducati is a fun little urban point to point bike, and is an easy to ride package. But with lower seat height, and a just as easy to ride package with a whole lot of other pluses the Kawasaki wins this.

    Would this be a good local commuter bike for a bigger rider? 6'3" 250 lbs?

    • @twiggidy
      @twiggidy 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes. should be. has enough power to carry you

  • @notstevelam

    how do you feel about this vs the suzuki tu250x as a city commuter?

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Duc has more power for sure and does get decent economy, but will need to have the seat swapped out immediately if you plan on urban commuting for more than an hour. The Tu250X will be slower but more comfortable. So in this case it would be a draw as they both have great attributes, like the TU and Duc are both nimble, lightweight, easy to push around in and out of tight spaces, and great fuel economy. The Tu is a more simple bike with less gizmos and such to work through such as ABS and traction control and such. But that is part of its charm. Like I said in the long run, it will be a draw.

    Im choosing between this (used) and a bnew sr400. Im 5”11 200lbs guy. I like the charm of the sr400 but i find it too small for me. Hard to decide. Help mr. Hedgehog!!!

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Sixty two has more spunk and will get the job done for you and it's seating and larger tank will help out for sure

    • @Dranreb865
      @Dranreb865 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rabid Hedgehog thanks! I was able to sit down on both. I feel scrambler fits me well ergo wise. If the sr400 could’ve been a lil bigger i would snatch it plus its priced cheaper. Problem here in my count only 1 dealer is selling and customer service for both sales and service sucks.

    • @VVoltz
      @VVoltz 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don’t get the SR400. You will regret not having an electric start when you choke it in the middle of the street

  • @Fossil_Fueled
    @Fossil_Fueled 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    What do you think is more comfortable This bike or the Yamaha sr400?

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      SR400 is much more comfortable.... We need this bikes power and that bikes plush seat and softer suspension. That's what would make it better.

    • @Fossil_Fueled
      @Fossil_Fueled 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you bought the bigger version and put an aftermarket seat on do you think it would be comfortable for mid to long rides?

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      graycows Yes. The suspension is still a bit stiffer, but no different than a Sportster. So add seat will travel :)

    wait is lane splitting illegal in the us?

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In California it is, the rest of the US needs to catch up.

    • @VittorioSergi
      @VittorioSergi 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rabid Hedgehog so what's the point of getting a bike to begin with in the rest of the us? 😑

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vittorio Sergi better fuel economy, cheaper to insure. And got the majority of US states plenty of open areas to ride in outside metro areas.
