    Agreed on all counts. The Meteor has wanted me to ride it from the first time I let out the clutch. (12 lines of fawning redacted)

      I was worried about it not being fully LED, like the new Meteor 650. The reviews on that headlight not so good. So a mix of LED and normal is a good thing.

    I also love my Meteor 350 it is the perfect bike for me. I liked the heel toe shift so much that i put one on my Classic 500 and it made riding it more enjoyable. When the Super Meteor came out i thought yes i like that but soon dismissed it i would only regret parting with my 350. If i feel i need a bit more power i can use the 500 so i have the best of both worlds. I installed a DNA filter and cover, also a new end can and now the bike has more oomph it probably give an extra 2 horses it certainly feels like it and it sounds great. You will never get more top speed from it but who cares its fast enough at 70mph and keeps you the right side of the law. Ride safe and enjoy your riding.

      Thanks for the comment. I too would regret selling the 350 also. So May have to sell my old Honda VT600 to make way for the new 650 Meteor. Does the air filter effect mpg? I also hear 1 extra tooth on the front sprocket is a good idea for an extra 10 kph?

    I love my Meteor and concur with your list. The heel & toe is so logical, I can never understand why many bitch about it. It shows a lack of intelligence and understanding.
    Don't even think of it as a 350, it's just my bike.

    Had a Royal Enfield 500 and loved it, loved the kick start, nothing like starting a ride by kick starting your bike, Like the saying ( if it has not got a kick start it is not a real bike.) The 500 was a all round bike had the steel army side bags on it and went every where, paved, dirt and gravel roads. If they had a dealer on the island I would have one or two Royal Enfield in my stable. Thanks for the video, I can only dream of having one again, I agree with you that they are much better than the Honda CB500 X on windy roads. and I would go flying down dirt and gravel roads on my Royal Enfield witch I would never do on the Honda CB500X not even close. Every time I see videos on the Royal Enfield I wish some one would open up a dealer hear on Prince Edward Island, a perfect spot of that type of ride. I have been riding for around 55 year and on many bikes, and the 500 Royal Enfield was one the put the biggest smile on my face. It was also a bike that a lot of people would want to talk to you about, spent many times standing around talking to people about it, in parking lots.

      I just had to Google Prince Edward Island. I agree, what a lovely spot to go cruising on a Royal Enfield. 2 years ago I went on a one world tour with a Royal Enfield Group. My Meteor 350 would keep up with the 500 Bullets no problem. And even overtake them on corners. Great bikes with good heritage. I hope you manage to get your hands on one soon. Happy days 🙏

    Agree with all and add number 8, the Steller Red colour, real classy. Those new colours look like 1950s kitchen cabinet colours.

    between the meteor 350 and the classic 350 with is a better choice ?
    and what are your toughts on the new himalayan 450, would be a better choice instead ?

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Everything has to be your personal choice here. Even though the Classic 350 and Meteor 350 use the same engine and frame, they are 2 completely different bikes. Please look at the video I made about this if not already seen. It’s the riding position and handling which is different. Surprisingly. I prefer cruiser style bikes, so the Meteor firs me very well. Unless you plan a little bit of off roading, not a lot of point getting a, Himalayan 450 with twice the power. 🙏

  • @thepeadair

    That's very poor fuel economy. Is it because you ride in the hills all the time?

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. Lazy internet research on my behalf. Before I sold the bike I properly tested it. I was consistently getting 40km/l. That is very good. And I rode it hard and fast most of the time. My new Meteor 650 now 25km/l. Which I knew would happen. But rides over those hills so much easier and safer 🗝️💪🙏

    Agree with all of those except ,the gear lever and the headlight .The gear lever was replaced with the TEC replacement I just could'nt cope with the heel toe at all and the headlight on dip I find the beam too short and the high beam lights up the trees maybe over your way they use a different bulb ,but I still love my Meteor :D

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes the heel toe shifter is a love or hate thing. I’m surprised myself that I love it now. I didn’t at first. The headlight here is ideal. I just hear the new meteor 650 new headlight is all LED, and not as good.

    • @postal_the_clown
      @postal_the_clown 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Agreed about the headlight. I've been able to adjust it down a little without losing too much low beam. In a stretch, I can pretend it's one of those "Easter egg" nods to the artillery DNA as it's aimed to launch something into the next town.

    On the heel/toe Shift you should change the poor linkage for a rose joint one and possibly the hub where the leaver pivots 😊

      @@Teacher-T-Thailand I know it's functional, but it's sloppy at best, and will get worse with wear, a proper rose ball joint linkage will improve the gear lever response and feel 👍🏻

    Could you please do a comparison between the Honda Rebel 500 and the Meteor 350 -

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have owned both bikes long term in the past. Sorry to say I don’t have access to them any more. Both very good motorbikes. The Honda is a lower seat height, and obviously has more power being a larger cc and a parallel twin. Value for money the Meteor wins. But if you have a larger budget, I would choose the Honda Rebel. Still very economical, and that extra power when you need it. If buying second band get a model after 2019, with the LED headlight and larger front wheel. Hope this helps. 🙏

      @@Teacher-T-Thailand Thank you for the reply - I'm in the USA and both bikes are available. I will be new to manual riding as I ride a Suzuki Burgman 400 for the past 2 years. I really like the looks and sound of the RE. They seem to have more character than the Rebels, but the Honda dealerships are every where.
