I'd recommend it in PvE for Warlocks. It's one of two void weapons that rolls demolitionist that I know of. Nezarec's Sin paired with either is nasty. It's essentially your contraverse hold build with more frequent supers, charged melee, and rifts.
Re-review Sunshot, especially on console, the mag size increase and the recoil fix made it amazing
IT'S NASTY BOYS! the explosive payload like perk really helps with damage fall off, a very consistent 4 shot kill at those longer ranges. I love it

It really has changed. It feels sticky on console, manageable without giving me a concussion while shooting it, and the magazine buff makes it worthwhile going into a fight. Honestly feels like the best energy hand cannon to take with me, even over Luna's Howl.

I'm sure at least one person has already pointed this out, but it can roll with demolitionist. The only 180 that can roll with it.
That's the "other" perk which stands out to me. Overall, trust beats optative out in base stats (+3 reload, +1 recoil are the only ones where optative is better), and both have considerably higher base stats than Service Revolver, which has sights rather than the barrell options that the energy 180s have.
Trust in general I feel is a slightly better weapon, but the lethality which kill clip has over rampage, and the demolitionist are really the only reasons which I would choose optative over trust. It is far easier to farm Trust in menagerie with a set range masterwork than optative as well. As a controller user, I feel that the adjustment to HCs has increased the viability of Trust, especially with explosive payload.

@@EMU1 the advantage that service has over optative imo is that it is kinetic, thus can be paired with multiple energy options. My service has rapid hit, kill clip, accurized, and sureshot and it absolutely melts.

This one actually has the same traits as my favorite Service Revolver with the Rapid Hit Kill/Clip combo very nice find I have the Pulse Rifle with the same model as the Machina Dei 4 that has Extended Mag, Feeding Frenzy and Rampage on the first one I ever got so far.
I have the same perks, and I haven’t tried it in PvP yet. Thanks for the vid!

Demolitionist on a hc is severely underrated for pve. Only austringer cannroll with it in the kinetic slot, so having an energy option, and a 180 to boot, is great imo. Love this gun
I like how Kill Clip just turns the slowest yet forgiving killing archetype of weapons into the most messed up shit you've ever wielded in you hands
so many of the vex offensive weapons seem great, my first weapon was the pulse and it's wonderful

I got a loud lullaby with demolitionist and subsistence, I am never switching off this hand cannon for pve. I paired it with my 85 discipline
I've got one that has Outlaw and Demolitionist on it. That for me is a god roll, because I can either pair it with a silly solo build that I like to use that takes advantage of middle tree Stormcaller and the Getaway Artist exotic gloves, or I can use it alongside middle tree Dawnblade if I dont want to use sunbracers and still be an effective healer. I think I was one of the few people pre-armor 2.0 that ran around with all grenade cooldown mods just for something different than the "Super Meta" that had become Season 7.
got this as my first roll, felt like west of sunfall so i brought it in pvp, its amaing
I'm on console. I had an optative with kill clip, but not super great other perks. Took it into PvP for a match, and had fun with it, but I prefer my newly amazing feeling spare rations. If I had a perfect or well rolled optative though, I might use that regularly as I use kinetic specials.

Hi aztecross, you wondered why the moon grenade launcher did more base dmg then all other ones. That's bc all moon weapons do increased dmg against nightmares (what includes most, if not all lost sector bosses), the Buff is activated, when the weapon starts to glow red.

I've got one of these with underdog and kill clip with drop mag. It's actually pretty dang good in gunfights.
I actually have a service revolver with rapid hit zen moment, it also has a stability masterwork
I got corkscrew rifling, tactical mag, outlaw, kill clip, and a handling masterwork last night
I got this roll as well as a multi kill clip SMG within 7 runs of the event. It's also a great way to get legendary shards

I got a Outlaw Demolition roll, sadly no accurized, but thankfully got a range MW. I use it a lot with my Sun Warrior Titan Build, which uses the new Titan Exotic. Could also work great with Hallow Fire heart.
I got a mulligan/4th times the charm Optative, with appended mag and fluted barrel, and a reload masterwork ,and it's pretty damn great. Probably one of the most forgiving handcannons that I've used.
I got the second best roll with outlaw and kill clip and I love this weapon. Three taps for days
I got this in my first 5 minutes being on the moon free roaming. Joined so random guardians in fighting a hydra and it dropped with demolitionist. Made me happy. My grenade regeneration was already ass to begin with but this thing helped out a ton.
The first optative I got was a godroll, it had full bore, ricochet rounds, substinence, kill clip, and a ranged masterwork

I have a rangefinder, rampage service revolver with range masterwork that has been my favorite handcannon on PS4 since i got it could be better if i got accurized or ricochet but light mag works pretty good on it

Hey Cross, while we're talking about new Hand Cannons, Loud Lullaby is a solid option down on the 110rpm end of the scale. I have a Drop Mag/Outlaw/Rampage with a Range MW if you're looking to check out some rolls. She's pretty fast and crispy.
What bungie doesn't want us to know is that the vex offensive weapons are just random roll versions of the lost prophecy weapons from Curse of Osiris
I got a rangefinder/kill clip Service Revolver w/ricochet rounds and a range masterwork. I'm only farming Optative for nostalgia XD.
I think you underrate how GODLY demolitionist is on something like a hand cannon. PvE that is always the roll I go with on mine because dropping trash mobs gives me my grenade which (depending on my class) I then use for it's full effect on priority targets. Don't overlook it as a perk on this gun if you like support builds like Well. Also, I used West of Sunfall to get my Luna's quest done, because it paired so deliciously with Fighting Lion. (This was before service revolver was a thing, to be fair.)
I have one with a rapid hit, opening shot great for finishing off midair sniper shots. range mw of course.
I got Mulligan on mine it's actually pretty good when you just missed a shot and need that extra bullet. Reminds me of the lucky bullet in hawkmoon but just not extra damage
I know Cross loves the PVP, but for PvE try getting Rapid Hit + Demolitionist. That with the artifact buff for gaining grenade energy on kills with shield piercing ammo (slot that anti barrier mod into this obviously) and you are generating grenade energy like crazy. I am currently running an Optative with Sunspot Titan + the new exotic boots and I am throwing grenades at everything at all times. It is amazing in the Nightfall.
Also worth noting, If you artifact spec to have void grenades disrupt, you can run 1 anti barrier weapon and save your primary for something like Izanagi's for boss DPS instead of trying to have an anti barrier gun and disruption gun. You get your grenade back very fast and can do so pretty consistently.
Service revolver with accurized rapid hit and opening shot is my roll. Extremely consistent with a bonus mag or icarus. I have the handling masterwork tho cus that's what I prefer and my dmg drop off is at 26 meters without opening shot

I was playing comp yesterday with austringer/service revolver/ AoS and service revolver is really the best had one hitting a triple tap was so satisfying. Btw I know you reviewed the eriana’s HC and the lack of handling and reload speed but you should try ophidian aspect with a enhanced hc reloader and its amazing!!
I find it best to pair it with either another HC or a sidearm. Something you can switch to fast. Get that headshot, then swap to put a finishing round on target.

you should do a video on the effectiveness of range perks after the nerf
go in tribute hall and put accurized rounds on and then off, or in crucible
with accurized rounds, lets say you do 50 damage at a certain distance
go the same distance, take off accurized rounds, and walk A HALF-STEP forward (almost inconceivable) and you get 50 damage

It’s crazy how I still use West if sunfall, the only good kinetic hand cannon I’m good with on console. And it’s still crazy. And the duke
180 HCs have a higher DPS out of all other HCs in PvE. So a Fourth Time's the Charm with a Drop Mag and Backup Mag mod to make sure you have 3 to 4 more shots when landing all crits as well as max reload. Or run Lunafaction/Rally Barricade and Extended Mag w/ 4th and Backup Mag to make sure you have even more shots to work with. Niche but very good at its alternate DPS when you have no more Special or Heavy to rely on.

I got a nice max range optative with Rapid Hit and Zen Moment, such a good dueling HC on Xbox, however I tend to still opt for Luna's in my energy slot
I hate lunas on console. The hc range makes it feel super inconsistent. I'll be within 25 meters and the thing will not consistently 3 tap. Just feels sluggish and laggy

I play on console. I have a service revolver with kill clip, rangefinder, AR, sure shot and stability MW. It feels great. There’s dmg dropout, but mine feels just as good prepatch.
I have a sureshot hcs/high cal/rangefinder/kill clip/ range masterwork service revolver and it is still amazing on console and pc I can vouch for that

You going to do a review on the Pluperfect Auto Rifle, i pull mine out of the season pass the other day and not gonna lie, for like classic mix/clash/control this gun is really fun. I have a ricochet rounds range finder kill clip roll with a stability master work. This thing kind of shits tbh, and I am not an auto rifle user at all lol.
Right off the bat the first thing I noticed was the brick on the side and how much it blocks my view.
There might be a hard cap on range for each HC archetype. 140-180 rpms (and Crimson) all seem to cap out at about 28-29m and 110rpms cap at around 32 I think. You heard about this?
