      that's a little early for them on the pier in my opinion I would try and stay inside the bay the flats and some passes

      Life Adventure thanks, I don't have a boat available I'm from europe. Hasn't to be Snook I will be happy with every fish I catch! can you maybe help me out with the species that are catchable in that time of the year?

    • @lifeadventure9229
      @lifeadventure9229  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +The European Angler early March is when things start heating up around here you can catch seatrout redfish flounder and Snook try and stay around the Gandy area St Petersburg or even East Beach at Fort Desoto there's plenty of spots to fish off sea walls try and stick the grass Flats the water will be warm enough to Wade a shrimp on a cork or jig or even at twitch bait should get you hooked up

    I was at that pier at the end with the rocks a couple of weeks ago and watched a guy fight a huge tarpon for about 30 minutes before it went under the dock and snapped off the line against the cement. It was heart breaking. Everyone on that pier was rooting for him. I also saw a manatee the size of a jon boat swim by those rocks. It was the biggest I've seen since moving down here.

    • @lifeadventure9229
      @lifeadventure9229  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      cool manatees are out there a lot that's good to see someone actually was able to hook up with the tarpon the porpoises love to eat the live bait

  • @adrianduque291
    @adrianduque291 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also what type of rig did u use for the snook?

    • @lifeadventure9229
      @lifeadventure9229  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      the rig I use when I'm using live bait 40 pound piece of fluorocarbon at least 6 foot and I like the owner octopus hooks size of hook depends on the bait 4 / 0 for small mullet number twos for greenbacks

      15 - 20 pound fluorocarbon free line or very small split shot next to the hook usually a number 2 Chum some cut greenbacks I usually use scissors then there's fish tacos for everyone

    • @daltondecaprio9590
      @daltondecaprio9590 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lots of mangroves off of that small jetty and the bridges around there. Liek Adventurer said, Greenbacks and split shots are key

    ...do you use a bridge net?..and why sling tthe back in the water and over the rail? If you did have a 40 inch plus fish..would you do the same?.. #respecthefishbro

    • @lifeadventure9229
      @lifeadventure9229  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I only use a bridge net if it's absolutely necessary wipe the Slime and tears up the side of the fish all the bridges I fish you can walk them down and get them on the bank at this particular Pier you got to be careful you can't let the fish go slow you got to make sure he gets down to the bottom of the flippers will get them
