Should we invest in DBS, OCBC and UOB today? Their stock prices might plunge!

- When I said $13 or $14 a share in 2016, I was thinking of DBS. Again, when I said $19 a share during the pandemic, I was thinking of DBS. I realized I didn't mention which bank I was thinking of when I listened to the playback. Growing old sucks.

one thing funny is when DBS $13 in 2016, STI is at 3100-3300 points. Today DBS is $35 almost 3x time price, and STI is still at 3100-3300 points.
🤣
A case for investing in DBS and not STI ETF? 🙊
Thank you AK for talking to yourself. Do you think it is a good idea to nibble more after XB where the share price of DBS (in theory) would go down by 10%?
I don't know if it is better to wait or not. But I know if the price plunges to $32 or lower, I would buy some. 🙊
@@A.Singaporean.Stocks.Investor. How about UOB and OCBC? 26 and 13?
@@iplayfwt6118 Those are good prices to add but I can certainly see prices going lower if Mr Market goes into a depression 😷
Do you have any suggestion for how to position size? I am using the kelly formula currently to size my positions
Aiyoh. Depends on our circumstances and risk appetite. Different for everybody. No one size fits all. 😅
AK, how resilient is SGD under a depreciating USD environment (i.e Fed starts to lower its interest rates)? Also what will be a non reversible weak USD implication on SG banks?
I don't know what MAS is going to do next. It would depend on the health of our economy and whether inflation is under control. That is my guess. Can only wait and see. 😷
If the FED cuts interest rates, the banks will see net interest margins being squeezed. Unless other major economies do exceptionally well, I doubt the dollar would weaken a lot even in a lower interest rate environment. 🙊
Ak my inspiration, reading competitor's annual report ....i too lazy to do that man xD
JP Morgan is way ahead of our local banks. They don't treat our banks as competitors. 😅
Second. 🎉

6% yield at $36 not considering bonus share, what’s not to like? Holding power is key tho.

Alamak... I just top up some DBS at 35.60 yesterday. 😅😅😅
@@woonhow5374 buying a wonderful business at a fair price 👌
Will Israel retaliate ? If so ,when ? Even though i am keen 2 buy some more DBS next week 😅
😱
Wait for ex-bonus for LT D05 accumulation.?

I have posted on a few of your video's on the local banks saying that in my view they are all overvalued. Probably 10% to 20%. Maybe the reality is starting to dawn? As Buffet says, buy when others are fearful. Right now the banks have been through a period of others being greedy, rather than fearful, and their values are way out of whack with the reality. Now is not the time to nibble, but it certainly is the time if you have significant holdings to be off-loading some with a view to buying back when Mr Market is fearful.
Trading is one way to make some extra money. 💯
I think if you get in at significantly low price and have spare cash, you could afford to average up slowly and surely at a steady pace just like AK.
Oops 🙊
I bought DBS on 3rd Apr
Am I entitled to the dividend and bonus shares this Friday
Please advise
Thanks
You better ask your broker who is the professional 😅
