- Why are all the best songs leaks or unreleased songs? Today one of these lost treasures in music is a song by Kendrick Lamar called "Prayer".
Prayer might be one of Kendrick's most important songs ,today we dive into why.
Thanks for watching , please like and subscribe is you enjoyed the video
Like this comment if we should do a Deep Dive into "Sing About me ,I'm dying of thirst"
the video is already out
😂😂@@IconicVibes.
It's a really well put together song, a song that would've fit perfectly on Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, hopefully, it is released as a single on streaming platforms because this song has so much meaning to it. Great vid, hope it does well!
Thanks for watching! I agree, Kendrick should release it on streaming because not many ppl know about this song
Given the time it leaked it I'm pretty sure it was meant for DAMN. PRAYER would have fit on the tracklist alongside FEAR and DUCKWORTH.
He made the song in 2018@@habadasheryjones
ts does NOT fit in Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers
even the name of the song would fit perfectly in Damn, but he said he had to cut some song because of the narrative
Drake using The Heart Part 6 and ruining the series is proof of how horrible the dude really is. The series existed more or less to serve as a mirror of Kendrick's so-called "culture". The fact that Drake used that and ruined it. COLONIZER
THE HEART ONLY HAS 5 PARTS! Or CHAMBERS! There’s no 6, so stop tripping
@@Xcuvon bro where in my comment did I ever say the heart had 6 parts or chambers? lol
Drake having a song called the heart pr 6 did nothing. Kendeick Can still make a the heart pt 6. Out of all the horribke things drake has done this is really not that important. Im saying this as someone who loves every song in that series
Also keep in mind that Drake did that as a response to 6:16 in La’s title
@@RealFaodail I wouldn't see Drake's Heart pt. 6 as a problem if it was actually decent. Like I said, he "ruined" the series.
To me that song is one of Kendrick's best . Just the sheer concept and the way he executes it is actually unbelievable!! And that instrumental has beeen stuck in my head for days lol😅
Day by day, I realize how great Kendrick really is and he is the Greatest of all time
Need Untitled Unmastered 2!!!
lol I completely agree bro, I cant keep using soundcloud
I've been asking for the same
I can’t imagine writing an absolute masterpiece like this, and then just deciding that your not gonna release it, hope he changes his mind
Thank you for shining light on this masterpiece. Just heard this track 2 months ago and I was and still am floored by the storytelling and different perspectives. Kendrick Lamar’s artistry deserves all the praise!!!
Thanks for watching
I mean with the Michael allegations I admit I may have bias Michael has been my favourite artist since I was 3 years old when he died in 09. But when u really dive deep into the case, it’s hard to see MJ as guilty, if the fbi have been auditing and raiding ur house the way the did, with the whole industry against him for his vocalness and still be found innocent in a court of law. Then when u look at the accusers and their family and their contradictory stories and actual guilt for what they did to MJ it becomes even more evident. That’s just my side note defending MJ. Anyway this is one of the greatest songs I have ever heard in my life.
This is a fair point, I think that's why Kendrick is also so hesitant in believing these allegations coz they are so blurry in detail, but I would say most ppl are undecided because of the leak of evidence but also we need to believe victims when they come out with a story. Thank For Watching btw!
I agree with you on your comment for me I've been a Michael Jackson fan since I was 2 years old I've met many Michael Jackson fans that are older than me in actually been in Michael's presents and told me stories about a lot of things as far as the allegation portion go when I was about 10 years old I did take a Hiatus on Michael Jackson because I was conflicted with that fast forward to like when I was 15 and during all these trials and everything some of the older Michael Jackson fans put me on game to actually do research when they did that for me I made up in my mind the decision to stay at Michael Jackson fan because of the factors of being in this industry cuz I'm a producer and I do love music and knowing that gossip and people that be around you that are yes men and people that can take advantage of you if you are up big celebrity and all the factors that weigh into this situation with that being said I don't believe none of the allegations and there's factual evidence for me to even back these things up but I urge people to do their research in order to find all of the evidence there's key things that they can look up and see there's a couple of podcasts and a couple of sites that have may use scripts from all his cases even the current ones with the two guys that are trying to claim that he abused them there's a lot of interesting information that you can find out if you want to know the truth
This song is nothing about mlk or MJ
@@IconicVibes. It’s not just the lack of evidence; the way the media handled the trial and allegations against MJ was terrible. During the 2005 trial, the media only focused on anything that was negative about MJ. A video called "The Michael Jackson Trial: One of the Most Shameful Episodes in Journalistic History" shows how the media ignored evidence and testimonies that favored Jackson. Instead, they fixated on things like what he wore to court or his accessories, while mainly promoting the allegations without addressing the counterarguments given towards them. The media’s biased coverage made some people not believe the allegations against Jackson, while others who thought he was weird accepted them without question. If the accusations are false, it seriously hurt his legacy. If they were true, the sensationalism made it easier for people to doubt any real victims. That being said,
based on my own research, I believe Michael was innocent. However, I can’t downplay or justify some of his objectively strange behavior toward minors. Even if he had no malicious intent, he should have known better than to let those kids sleep in his bed, given how the media was already tearing into him for every little thing he did, it was just a very bad look.
1st view, this song fire man and i hate its not on youtube or spotify
Thanks for watching bro! this song is so hard to find too, I wish more people knew about it, Its so underappreciated
It was on TH-cam but it keeps getting deleted

I predict that Kendrick might drop this song or a song similar in themes as 'The Heart part 6' for his next album. Considering all the controversy that the Kendrick-Drake beef could impact how the masses view him or his art, and a lot of the points made in this video (mainly Kendricks worry for the irrelevance of his art because of his actions) ; dropping a song like this would makes sense especially after Mr. Morale. A Prayer type song would help clear his conscious after setting aside the character he built on Mr. Morale for the beef.
I agree , I do however thing that Kendrick is no longer worried about his art after Mr morale because I don't believes he has anything that might change how people feel about him after this beef with drake ,he has solidified him as one of the greatest already.
Drake messed that up😂
It might sound weird but this is actually the song that really got me into listening. I remember just seeing the leak on my yt page when it was first discovered and starting to get into the lyrics more and more. Loved the execution which Kendrick used and starting listening to his discography more and more and Im currently getting into his Magnum Opus to Pimp a Butterfly. God thank this YT Algorithm.
Well, How did you like it...?
I kinda like His pain with Kendrick and BJ the Chicago Kid. Also Fragile by Tech Nine and Kendrick.
Prayer by Kendrick Lamar & Javari by J. Cole are Grammy winning songs and it’s ridiculously sad they will probably never be released smh…
My fantasy alternate ending of the Drake V. Kendrick beef was Kendrick dropping Prayer officially the Sunday morning following the Saturday release of Not Like Us.
Imagine the gesture. Something like "I just sonned you, dragged your whole image through the mud. Now let me pick you back up and dust you off a bit."
Drake may have not even bothered with The Heart Part 6. I honestly have no clue what Drake's move would have been. We may not have heard from him all Summer after that.
Bro if he would’ve put this at the very end of Mr Morale and the big steppers that would’ve easily been a perfect piece of the puzzle.
Can I just say the tune and melody along with the heart piercing real lyrics that move the soul are amazing. Just the beat alone is chilling to me, Kendrick Lamar art comes alive and the msgs in the songs get better and better. No matter what anyone says he has proven his lyrical and heartfelt abilities in his music even winning A pulitzer prize for his art so is he one of the greatest rappers alive? Yes.
I'm stricken by what can only be described as the "pre-guilt" Kendrick has been feeling seemingly since TPAB. I wonder if these skeletons and paranoia he feels are valid concerns for actions he has committed and feels awful for, or if he's using the history of great figures before him as inspiration to write incredibly compelling music. In Mr. Morale, he took public responsibility for infidelity rather than waiting for it to get exposed or tossed through rumor cycles (or maybe it did, I never saw any famous headlines prior to the albums release about it). To address that on his return-album really stirred public opinion, but to openly admit to it was commendable. I think he knew a secret like this getting exposed wasn't going to ruin him or cancel him to many of his fans, but it was going to ruin him to SOME of fans. Thus creating a divide in his fanbase of fake and real, whoever leaves after "shit hits the fan" is fake, whoever sticks around is real. I don't think Kendrick would believe those fans to be fake nor even believe the others to be real. His morale compass is too strong to leave this to fate, which is why he came out with an album all about his imperfections and how he's healing, even doubling down and saying he's no savior. No savior indeed, but an inspiration to be the truth, he for sure is. Prayer serves as a reminder to himself that greater people before him have faced debilitating accusations (out of an artist like MJ's control) and what you've done in the past can and will be used against what you stand for no matter the cause you're yearning for (in MLK's case). if he must face this public shaming one day, all he can do is be ahead of it, show the guilt he feels and reveal to us himself who he is in forms of amazing art and just HOPE, that same art can still resonate to as many morale compasses as possible.
May have lost the point here and there but I can deep dive into this for hours, the poetry in this man's music makes other seem shallow-- I hate comparing art but as a small artist, I wish I could hear more of this level of emotion in others music.
You dropped this 👑.
lmao stop, im finna cry
Wow..... Speechless
THANKS FOR WATCHING
excellent video! this is an all-time track point blank period. It's def near if not at the top of his catalogue.
This is one of his better story telling tracks. But i think it can be edged out by sing about me or mother I sober
@@KvngBolt yeah most definitely, I made a video on sing about me
please do a breakdown of JAVARI by Cole..it’s one his best storytelling tracks, I haven’t seen anyone cover it
Thank You for this! This song has been in my top 10 for years
I only found it 2 years ago and i wish more people knew about it! btw thanks for watching!

Great review bro, subbed ❤
Thanks for the sub!
That snippet in the not like us video will definitely be released on his upcoming album

That was an awesome review.
@@dianeclarkson9607 thank you so much for watching
Would you say that Prayer is kinda like apart 2 to Sing about Me??
yeah ,but not exactly.i think sing about me is for impactful and detailed
Technically These Walls actually continues the story from sing about me
Is it in the same key as Father Time? I'm not that well-versed in music theory nor the technicalities, but I think I pick up some similar chord progressions---just something potentially fun to think/talk about! Glad this video showed up on my home page
8:11 if I'm not wrong the guy on the right is Vivian Thomas, the first black heart surgeon or something
YEAH ,ur right
Why do you have only 273 subs, that's criminal
lol don't worry bro we finna make it one day
Make a deep dive for “Faith” please, it is an unreleased gem

Goat🐐
They took that song off some of the music platforms
Sucks I have to keep using SoundCloud to listen to this great song. 😂
brooo i know ,i wish it was released on spotify or apple music ,or even just youtube music lol
The problem with separating the art from the artist is that with music, the art is the artist. With a painting or taking photographs or pottery or literature, the artist isn't standing there telling you about it. You can go look at Hitler's art and never know it was his, right? When you listen to a Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, Drake, Diddy etc. song, you are hearing them read their poetry to you. No one likes J.K. Rowling any more. But everyone is still cool with Harry Potter. But I guarantee you no one would buy an audio book of Harry Potter narrated by Rowling, herself.
4:20 "drake and MJ have so many similarities" no shi
You are by no means reaching when you said Micheal and Drake have similarities because I promise right before you said that I was thinking to myself how eerie it is that MJ and Drake are parallel to each other when it comes to their success, their abuse of power, starting their careers in their adolescent years, their behavior when it comes to minors AND the abusive/absentee fathers.
@@mel9823 omfg right??? I was think the same too 😭I thought maybe I was reaching but I'm glad many people see these parallels especially when drake himself likes to compare himself to MJ...thanks for watching 🙂
@@IconicVibes. no you definitely hit the nail on the head with that one. And exactly. Drake’s constant comparisons just solidifies it even more. And no problem. I enjoyed your video 🤍😊
Awesome video! Can you do a vid like this on Abortion Money leak ?
Interesting 👀👀
whats the instrumental in the background throughout?
It's Prayer the unreleased song we are talking about, U can find it on soundcloud
Mane somebody and prayer been nice for the past years since i found it the generation needs but they to delusional

lmao thanks bro
wht was the instrumental in the back
nvm
The song is a black history lesson
Art and artist is not 1 thing
Who found that hard drive
Prayer is NOT Kendrick's most important song when SAMIDOT and Mother I Sober exist. Stop.
I agree that’s it’s probably not his most important song, but I don’t think it’s outrageous to think so. The song basically details his fear of how his art will be viewed long after he’s gone, which will ultimately be his lasting impact, arguably the most important part of someone’s career.
I agree but I meant it's his most important song in leading up to the making of Mr Morale because many themes such as, his stardom, fear, and forgiveness are heavy contributors to Mr Morale and they all come from Prayer.
It’s amazing how 3 songs can be viewed as such.
Bro got so offended I don’t even agree with you’re picks either💀💀
Maybe not his MOST important song but a very important song for that time of his career
I think his most important song is “Sing about me, I’m dying of thirst personally”
:)
good video but plz stop talking like a robot brother
thanks bro , im working on that
Kendrick rapped in different perspectives, yeah snd the sun came out this morning
If Ken isn't dissing Drake, I don't bother
What?
🧢
There's a possibility he did get physical with Whitney. Notice he didn't deny it yet speak directly to drakes kids as a father, a quality he is proud of about himself. This song may be in the background specifically for the moment it is needed the most.. whether it be in the event of his demise or behind being publicly shamed for something he may feel guilty of. Either way, both him and Cole are gradually developing into the men God created them to be. ❤❤😊😊
I don’t believe he put hands on Whitley because on his last album he put all his skeletons out in the open. I believe he had decided to go to war with Drake and he didn’t want Drake to have any skeletons to hold over him. This why Drake lied because he could not fine any truthful dirt on Kendrick
You look dumb
Dude, stop talking
@@jacqulynsmither8770Kendrick addressed the allegations in meet the grahams where he said “I guess integrity’s lost when the metaphors doesn’t reach you” he’s referencing how Drake made assumptions about Kendrick’s family dynamics based off of Mr. Morale, an Album Drake didn’t seem to understand at all…
