They did! It came out around the time of the whole "indie horror game" craze. It kind of fell flat but it did serve to introduce a lot of people to the source material :)

Ok here's my theory: the stairwell is never-ending and desires to have as many people as possible descend it for an eternity. To accomplish this, the stairwell either mimics a crying child to lure people down or at an undetermined point in time it lured a child down and is now using the child as bait. Someone who is lured into descending the stairwell and becomes incapacitated is revived to continue descending the stairwell. This is shown when the second participant suddenly revived after an unnatural heartbeat and low cracking noises were heard and an unknown substance was left behind as well. Any light not being used by an active descending or ascending person will be extinguished and replaced with an unknown sticky substance. I have no explanation for the hole found while the third participant descended or the light being seen within it. I believe the third participant is still descending the stairwell to this day and will do so for the rest of eternity due to the overwhelming fear caused by the face and other unknown factors that may arise the further one descends the stairwell. I also believe that anyone who descends the stairway can overcome their fear and ascend and escape it if only to embrace the sweet release of death. A preferable fate to an eternity of terror.
Pretty solid theory. I do think that when log 3 mentioned they were sticky where 2 put the lights, it's just the residue left where the adhesive lights where peeled off. But I'm really curious about the mysterious substance and the broken stair with the light shining up. I wanna know what log 4 says dang it!
