- Keeping it simple is always the best solution. Start with whatever bait you've got until you can upgrade and catch the fish you want. Everything eats shrimp, so it will always catch good cut bait, or may even catch the target species for dinner! And, as always, the Fishbites put out some extra scent, and keep something on the hook with that soft shrimp gets picked off!

I swear by adding a bunch of wraps of elastic thread to help keep the shrimp together.
I've seen that used for ghost shrimp, but have never really needed it for regular shrimp. Seems extra
I just got stationed up here at HAAF, I’ve tried fishing local public ponds but haven’t had that much luck. I don’t know if you’ve fished many of them, I’ve been scrolling through your videos tonight and see some canal videos but nothing that looks familiar. I’ve tried just about everything, top water, spinners, divers, suspends, swim baits, just can’t get anything to hit. Any advice? Are these places just over fished around here or could it be the lures
I've had a really hard time getting bites in the ponds. I have had some luck with finesse techniques like wacky worms and small paddle tails worked along the edges. I do primarily focus on surf fishing these days. I tend to have more success there, and catch more variety. And more edible species.
@@dustinmeador1079throw a green pumpkin chatterbait and slow roll it and give it some occasional fast half turns with your reel and then let it fall and then keep slow rolling it and you will catch fish
And use a green pumpkin craw as the trailer rigged vertical so it best represents a brim . My favorite is a speed craw
Be easier to just throw a 2 oz silver spoon. Lol
Except I literally never catch anything on one here. I caught like a dozen fish in a couple of hours
