I have no idea about public spots on that lake. I was fortunate that my boss got us a nice Airbnb with a dock for a gig we were working up there.

I did too. I was bummed that it broke off.

It can get really frustrating. Especially when I make sure to go to the spots where I'm as far from condos and hotels as possible, and try to set up where nobody is swimming. Folks are just oblivious

@@adventureandmore3947 I use braid on all my saltwater rods. I do indeed recommend it. I use power pro on my longer cast set ups, and reaction tackle for everything else to save money.

With the glasses we were able to see the 70ish% coverage. Not nearly as impressive as when we were closer to the path of totality. But it was still fun. And hey, I caught some decent fish. Win win. 😃

@@fishincontrol jekyll is beautiful isn't it. The only time I ever saw an eclipse, full eclipse was in 83. In Georgia. That was really something to see. Even if you in shade it was obvious. It got so dark and it to was around 3 in the afternoon. Anyway I'm headed back to jekyll in October. I try to get there 3 or 4 times a year. It's been a short ride to vacation since the 70's for me. Still relatively a quiet place to go for me to get away. A lot more crowded but still quiet and peaceful. Definitely not a spring breakers place and I hope it always stays that way.

Nice! This time of year you can end up weeding through a lot of those. If you aren't finding whiting, try closer or farther. Sometimes they're almost right at you're feet

I haven't much, but am getting more into live bait fishing. So will likely give that a try at some point.

There are definitely not any walleye in the saltwater creeks around Savannah. It is for sure a spotted sea trout aka speckled trout.

No worries at all, glad you had a fun trip! I ended up getting a couple of small pompano, 5 whiting, one sail cat, and had a big shark break of right at the beach. Did you get to fish more than the one time before you left?

I don't tend to fish for large sharks. Usually just going for sharpnose and bonnets, which I get a bunch on cut spot or Pompano heads

Thanks! I'm hoping it's just a wheel balancing issue. Just had to take care of some bills first. Gotta get a jack stand so I can pull the wheel and take it up to get balanced, so not too bad if that's all it is.

This could get philosophical real quick on us, but I'll give it a shot. I think if it has eyes and/or feeds line through it it's a rod, and if it has fixed line it's a pole such as with a cane pole. But I'm open to it being pretty interpretive
