7 and 8 strings are still awesome and actually being used to better effect by some musicians but nowadays there's more accessible baritones for people who *just* wanna dig into some chunky tunings, and bands like Loathe are making them cool. The novelty factor has definitely worn off.

    • @jacktowers7533

@@actuallyasriel yeah unless I need to use the higher strings in my compositions I just use a Baritone or Bass VI for Low tuned riffs instead of my 7 string, my 7 string is Tuned to C standard with an extra high F string tho so it's more a Stoner Metal and Jazz guitar where I can get the Low C but shred higher than a normal 6 string
When I need CHONK and shred tho I have a 9 String just so all my bases are covered
But it's curious how both Big Drums in the 80's and Big Guitars now are a creation of the Progressive and Metal scenes, More is More as Yngwie Malmsteen said "How can less be more? It's impossible... More is More!"

The 80's 2002 Ride is so nostalgic to me. I never considered a cymbal could give a lifetime brain imprint. The first set I played with, was my sisters boyfriends huuuge Tama set with Paiste 2002 cymbals in the 80's. I especially remember that ride and how huge it was. Love that sound so much. Hearing it just now gave me the chills.

That's why I don't Put my entire guitar collection on social media display for eg 4-5 tops and not the good ones. I don't even want people knowing I posses them, let alone where they are, they're for Me. It's such a shame when you have people with real passion wanting to share the joy they get from it but the very act of sharing puts it all at risk 😐

Some of the best cymbals in my collection were found out by the street in people's garbage..no kidding. I found an old Zildjian 15" with rivets and an old Zenjian heavy15" hand hammered out by the road in somebody's trash. They were with an old 'MIJ' 4-piece drum set put out by the road for trash (!!). Paired them up to make a set of hi-hats and they are one of my best hi-hat sets. The drum kit I restored, played for a while then donated it to a local drum shop that donates percussion instruments to schools, etc. 'Payed it forward' but I just had to keep those cymbals.

if you paid with paypal.. doesn't matter if you waited beyond the return/dispute window of whatever online store/marketplace you bought it from (i.e. ebay).. as even if for example you are beyond ebay's 30 day return window, you got like a whole year to open a dispute if you paid with paypal, and just explaining that it was a scam sale and explaining you did not learn until later that you were indeed scammed after learning of evidence/details.. paypal will still take your case and likely rule in your favor
while not something I bought off ebay, proof that paypal will take a case even a year later, recently I had opened a dispute for something i paid for 1 year prior (commission type work). Paypal refunded me when i showed that the maker wasn't keeping their end of the transaction (haven't even started work after 1 year and was BSing me over the months).
