    If you like hiking, Wesminster MD is within an hour of the Catoctin Mountains, Soldiers Delight, Morgan Run, Piney Run Park, McKeldin Area of Patapsco Valley State Park, among others (plus PA).

      BTW, every time you say Taneytown you disturb the spirit of Raphael Ta(w)ney lol I'm curious where you are from originally and don't say MD.

    I’m 43 years old I live in Westminster all of my life we don’t need any more people moving here in town in the county or congested enough . All of the real estate agents are doing are bringing more and more people into this town which is making the cost of living in Carroll county expensive like Howard County and Baltimore County.

      The job of real estate agents is to help people buy homes in areas they want to live in. They love Westminster for the same reasons you do! Great place to live 🙂

      @@movingtomarylandyou don’t understand man. You’re defending those killing an agricultural country with overpriced homes for people who move here from D.C.

    The cons that you described are not cons at all. Remote; stuck with what you got; too far to commute to big cities- those are the PLUSES. That is what has kept Westminster quiet and happy and relatively little debelopment.

      This is true, remote and slow paced is a great thing for some people

    I was raised here, and I do not agree with your con list at all. 10 mins outside of Westminster, is Liberty Reservoir. A great place to hike, fish and kayak. As a matter of fact within a 20 min drive of Westminster there are several lakes and plenty of places to hike or fish. Lots of nature to explore, just look up Mineral Hill. Secondly, while you may not have all the high end shopping of a big city, Owings Mills is again 20 minutes away with a great shopping area, and 30 mins away is Hunt Valley. The town itself is very quaint and quiet.

      Those are in the surrounding areas, sure but not IN actual Westminster (I was raised there too)

    So, as someone who was raised there and whose family has been in Westminster since Carroll County was still part of PG, Baltimore and Frederick Counties, I can tell you that I’m really disappointed that one of the most glaring cons about living in Westminster was left out of this video. It’s not a place that is psychologically (and sometimes physically) safe for Black people and other people of the global majority. The amount of discrimination that I experienced growing up and then again when I moved back and stayed for an additional 10 years in my 30s, is beyond sad. I’m sure there will be some folks who look for a lack of diversity or who wish so many of “those people” would stop moving there. Again, my family didn’t choose to live there. We were among the enslaved folks/families who couldn’t escape. It is a hellscape wrapped in pretty idyllic postcards.

      😂😂😂😂😂😂 You are so full of 💩! Yes, Carroll isn't as diverse as Baltimore, or Fredrick and other counties. However to say it isn't physically or psychologically safe for non white people is utter nonsense!!🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

    Westminster is a hell hole of GQP ignorance. I won’t even drive thru town. If you want to live there, get yourself an F-150 with a Trump bumper sticker and you’ll fit right in.

      @movingtomaryland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It sounds like you shouldn't buy real estate there!

      However, my experience is not many people are nearly as conservative as you portray. Would seem you are the ignorant one.

      Thru town is the most diverse part… go to city park in when it’s nice outside
