Grew up in Potomac and it was gorgeous and so peaceful with lots of great outdoor things to do like hiking and C&O Canal. My parents live in Rockville now and it's also great just much busier but more convenient. Can't really go wrong! Kentlands area is also really cute with lots of great dining options.

Odd. No mention of Ft. Detrick and it's responsibility for Frederick's status as the top 5th Superfund site in the US. I would kinda think that drinking Frederick's water is and has been for over 50 years, a primary cause of the cancer cluster that earned the Superfund designation. The US Army Chemical Corp's presence at Ft. Detrick throughout the 50s, 60s, and 70s during and after the development of herbicidal weapons including the various 'agents' such as agents orange, white, purple, and green including spraying all designated areas within Detrick's: A, B, C, D, E, and F, and the resulting runoff into Frederick's water table, discussed for years after entire families died of identical tumors, should be known to Frederick residents who've been there any amount of time.

I see 2025 will be a repeat of 2024. High interest rate, high home price, and low inventory. keep waiting on the sideline. 😮

I lived in Maryland for over 30 years. The housing is overpriced, and I find Western Maryland beautiful. You can find a great home at a great price. Some great secrets and great living in western Maryland.

The cons that you described are not cons at all. Remote; stuck with what you got; too far to commute to big cities- those are the PLUSES. That is what has kept Westminster quiet and happy and relatively little debelopment.

I absolutely love your videos, Eddie. Thanks for posting. We lived in Frederick from 2020 to 2023 and decided to move to the Richmond, VA area. Needless to say, there's no place like Frederick...so we moved back in May of this year, 2024 lol.

The "charm" of Frederick is superficial. It is three blocks of G-town and otherwise overpriced tract housing.

I lived in Frederick County for over 30 years, and I can attest this video is authentically about Frederick County (unlike some other stuff on TH-cam that purport to tell you about someplace but give you bad info and photos of other places for clickbait). Federick is a lovely place but Frederick does, however, have a major traffic problem. US 15 is pretty much the only way from where I70 from Baltimore and 1270 from DC meet, to the northern part of Frederick County where Thurmont, Catoctin Mountain Park and Cunningham State Park are located, and US 15 is almost always packed with traffic. Note also that Catoctin is where Camp David is located and if it is being used, hiking trails in the park can be closed without a lot of warning. The Appalachian Trail runs through Frederick County at its western edge, and there is a big parking lot where US 40 crosses it. A couple Civil War battlefields are in Frederick County too.

Like Former Gov. HOGAN said: high tax Maryland has been hemorrhaging HIGH earners ( and tax payers) for awhile. The in-migration replacements are lower income, lower skilled and from places like Mexico, South and Central Americas
