    It also hurt and felt wrong when I learned that technique. Totally worth it in the end.

      Love that tone and the colors, the Aguilar look is highly desirable for collectors and players. 70's fender in general but these are having their moment

    i learned this as a guitarist, and its soooo fun
    itll be really hard to start but its one of my favourite sounds now - victor wooten has a really good video with sweetwater or reverb i believe that taught me a lot of the basics

    Thank you soooo much, I've always to get funky in the bass.
    But you just revealed one of the worlds best kept secret.

    First video I find of someone actually mentioning that it felt weird. Thought it was just be having a sensitive thumb so didn’t bother learning up technique

    I have giant man thumbs, so I can't play like that which sucks. Even with my BTB with 19mm string spacing

      Of course cheap instruments sound great, the idea that Chinese products are bad quality is a stereotype from 30 years ago. I think that a lot of older people who have money to spend and little time to play just get obsessed with brands because buying gear is ultimately their only way of staying connected to their hobby, through consumption (because of having little time to actually play, but money to spend at a whim)

    Because I didn't master this technique in less than 30 mins I figured I had no talent...I'm pretty hard on myself.

    • @slimeallthetime69
      @slimeallthetime69 ปีที่แล้ว

      Find some exercises, build it from the ground up with a metronome as slow as you need to be to be perfect. Good technique comes from consistency talent be damned.

    Yeah I get it???????? But I don't think the sound it makes is that cool!!!!!!! Make I could see if it was like a rocking slap sound!!!! But I just don't think the benefit is worth the punishment I guess?????

  • @drbassface

    I still don’t think the upstroke thumb is a tone suitable for a baseline in a song song.
    Great for flashy bass riffs…
    That’s it
