I'm a longtime Berserk fan, so I am intimately aware of how it feels when a manga you love gets a bad adaptation. I cannot express how fucking grateful I am that Chainsaw Man has been given such a passionate team behind it who are giving it the adaptation it deserves. This episode was a fucking masterpiece.

Just to clear some confusion. The old man WAS NOT the Zombie-Devil, he simply made a contract to the Zombie-Devil. We don't know the ins and outs of the contract, but it was presumably "Kill all Devil-Hunters you're affiliated with for unlimited power". The "Unlimited Power" basically meaning "become a zombie".
I'm not quite too sure about that since we know from later in the manga (justice devil) that people can make contracts with a devil to become the devil's incarnation.

If that sounds familiar, that's because it's also the inspiration for Nobara's cursed technique
the reason why i love this show so much is because it's full of fictional stuff but it just feels so f*cking real! i got really emotional after watching this, heavy breathing, eyes wide open, completely shocked. kinda felt like i really just lost my friends. the way the characters interact with each other, the way they joke around, idk why but everything just feels so realistic.
It’s the animation bruh they make everything looks so fluid and polished. The first half of this ep feels like a scene from a movie with the way it’s directed you can tell mappa is putting everything they have into this fr
That’s the thing that I am really loving about the show/manga. These characters aren’t one dimensional or pure of heart like 95% of the anime out there. All of them are complex, multidimensional, flawed people and it’s so easy to get attached to characters that feel so incredible real.

I think the power dynamic for devils is similar to how popular horror movies are with objects/entities. Chainsaw has always been terrifying and guns are terrifying but are often disregarded because they are used in general movies too.
Nah, it's based on the fear that is associated with those concepts in the CSM world. Guns are strong already, as many people have a fear of guns, but in the CSM universe you have the Gun Devil, who was already incredibly powerful, kill over a million people in the span of 5 minutes all over the globe. As well as there being an overarching cold war-esque fear of global war present in the story. Furthering the world's fear of guns, thus making the gun devil even more powerful. The Gun Devil is way, way, way more powerful than Denji and his Chainsaw Devil power. Yeah, they're scary, but the whole world is afraid of the Gun Devil. Right now in the story, Chainsaw Man vs the Gun Devil is like an ant versus a dinosaur. The Gun Devil isn't even the scariest one out there either.

If the target is wearing any sort of clothing, it will instantly jam up the chains rendering it useless. The only known use of chainsaws I know of in killings are when they're used to dismember the body afterwards. The reason chainsaws are so powerful in CSM has to do with something they haven't revealed in the anime yet, and I won't spoil.

After the last episode I decided to read the manga since I enjoyed the show way more than I expected… this was the first thing I read and I was not ready for this… I thought that the show was more of a memeshow, but the characters are actually pretty deep and I enjoy the worldbuilding very much

In fact, Denji's relationship with Makima is so wrong that even the idea of hooking with the drunken Himeno seems mild by comparison. At least she doesn't use her body to psychologicaly manipulate people but to comfort them.
I’m watching snippets of chainsawman as I read the entire manga, and it’s tuff because u don’t want them to fuck ur baby up 😂 I know full well that if I watch chainsawman full I will find some way to critique it, and this happens with every series, 😅 If I see a reaction I don’t wana be the person that says "it was different in the manga if felt so sinister" or "they cut this part off" Again I do this with one piece, in the recent ep they took off a gorgeous panel a panel that oda the writer himself is rare to see, skipped in the anime 🤦♂️ When the seasons out ima binge the series

They decided that one guy should do a comedy manga. He wrote Konosuba. The other guy would do a horror manga. He wrote Re:Zero. You should SERIOUSLY consider doing Re:Zero reactions. I love the series and the reactions to it are classic.
This might be a hot take but imo the first season was WAY too short I haven't read the manga but I heard it's the same, there so nowhere near enough time with the characters, especially himeno, sure it's sad but it feels like so much wasted potential and so much more development, her death could have been so much more impactful imo

this episode hurt, Himeno was such a good character. Flawed but sympathetic, selfish but caring. At least she sort of got to leave on her own terms
