Gross !!! I've no desire whatsoever to live a life of a dog or any other animal fir that matter. There's zero comparison as to the life and achievements that Shawn has accomplished to that of his dog. Unless of course you are so totally anal you want to lie around doing nothing your entire existence. No independence, totally at the beg and call of a human being , dependent on him for food and entertainment, so conditioned out of its natural existence that it relies ona human for everything. Def not the manner it was created to live by. But for a human to desire to be a dog says alot about your mental & spiritual state.

I find it rather facinating how a dog can lift our spirits just by being by our side. Cali's personality comes right through the computer screen and gives us all a sense of joy. May she live a very long healthy life for all the smiles shes brought to our hearts

You know? I figured out why I love all of this. It's all so logical and peaceful. I live down in Fort Myers and I miss my cabin up at Houghton Lake Michigan so much. You bring me back to the woods where I love to be. It's not logical down here. It is a retirement area, and it seems like I am living in "Grey Gardens" City. People are rushing to relax, and they are all really bad drivers because they are from everywhere across the US and used to different driving regulations. Anyway, where you are is so very logical. Thank you so much for filling my soul with peace.

I see scene after scene of amazing beauty, glorious peacefulness, wonderful isolation without being too isolated and cold. Many degrees of cold that my body unfortunately can no longer withstand. Using a outhouse and sauna is nothing I haven't done before but digging my way through snow up to the tops of my knees in the dark is something these old bones and bladder can't do. For years I fed the wood stove when my body woke me up in the middle of the night, that I can do, but not the snow. Having my home stay in the 50's (10°C to 15°C) all day and lower at night would keep me wrapped in a electric blanket 24/7. I both envy you and congratulate your ability to live where you do. It is a dream many of us spend years trying to achieve. Sadly by the time we can our bodies can no longer withstand the elements from all the abuse we put it through trying to get there.
Roughly 6 years of watching your channel... never once have I been bored or underwhelmed. Always, always beautiful, educational, fascinating and food for the soul ❤
Recent days have been especially good for me. In my gratitude I had the thought that … “ it could not last”. Then I watched this video and smiled…’so it continues’.

I like watching when you come home to your cabin from a blistering cold day to a nice cozy fire, while seated with a good book in hand and caly by your side! I love the windowed wood stoves where your able to view the flames licking above the warmth of the coals! Relaxing gives one time to ponder of what tomorrow may bring, and the accomplishments that bring them closer to their goals! In all actuality it would be nice if you had matching recliners! Of course getting them there may be problematic! 😅
I think he needs a sofa or love seat, the room looks incomplete. I'm sure he could build one very easily. Hopefully it wouldn't be plaid or brown, lol...
That shot at 0:25 of you just sitting in front of the wood stove, with the foot stool and the loyal hound and a hot drink... That, to me, is what makes all the effort worthwhile. Being at peace.
