Lady M: Delivered, A New Yanmar Engine & all the pumps!!!

After a long break we are so EXCITED to get a delivery - the new Yanmar 4JH 110 HP diesel engine. We got the last of this model currently available in the United States. We had to go all the way to Florida and pay a little extra shipping, but we got it! Otherwise we would have been 4-6 months out and probably would have made this a next school year project.
We will be back to regular updates as our students are working on this re-power and installing all new pumps. Being the vessel is 13 years old and all of the pumps are super accessible without the engine in the way, we decided it was worth changing out all the pumps. Also, it was super generous of Xylem to donate all of them to the program!!! They know we'll get more money or at least make the boat easier to sell, and all of the profits go back into our account to help the program out so we can continue training new technicians.
As always, if you know somebody who would be a good fit in this industry and would like the technical training, Skagit Valley College has a place for them!

As are we - got concerned when we couldn't source an engine on the west coast and they started talking 6+ months out to order one!
