its the same thing how you can play as the Kingdom of France instead of the French Empire, using admin commands on a private server or by a real admin of the game, you can play with medieval weapons only with no surgeon or chaplain, the only one with a ranged weapon would be a seaman as others have swords and shields, except the musician and sapper where sapper will have that long axe (forgot the name of the weapon) and the musician will have that medieval guitar with a small knife
