Really? That such a hard job for doing two task at the same time and still maintain best quality for both creation project and the video. Thumbs up for you 👍👍🔥
Thanks man! I honestly wasn’t sure how strong the leg to case joint was going to be. In my mind I thought it would tilt or rock. But dado-ing it I’m definitely made it solid
@@BevelishCreations Glad you took the leap and gave it a go. Turned out great. Also, very impresses with your video/edit work. Easy to follow, and well paced.
I believe people who show more basic projects have bigger audience. Like making a square nightstand with pocket holes would be much more affordable to most viewers. This nightstand here is an eye candy and just the look of it probably scared the novice DIYer.
If I had any more room in my house I would make this for my office. My wife tells me anything else I build I have to either sell or give away. LOL. Might convince her of this one, though. She likes this style. Nice build, Alex.
Great design and video. I find it kind of funny that you have an industry quality table saw but no miter saw. Something for the Birthday/Christmas wishlist!
Lol thanks. I actually sold my miter saw because I normally use a miter sled with my table saw. It’s much more versatile and a larger capacity than the miter saw. I don’t think I’d ever get a miter saw tbh
Really beautiful design and execution, Alex! I know you did it partially for baby proofing, but I really like the aesthetic of the no drawer pull but bevel solution!
11k subscribers! Man, it seems like yesterday that I commented on one of your other videos and you were "only " at around one thousand! Fine job on your success 👏👏👏👏
Yeah I understand that sir. I'm not doubting your capabilities you are a master crafts man. It's just that you didn't support your off cut and just let it drop before the cut was even finish. But I love your work keep it up. Oh and did you get yourself a miter saw yet?
@@BevelishCreations I'm not that fortunate to own a table saw do all my rip cuts with a plunge saw. I'm from south Africa where we still use corded drill drivers.
Your design is insightful, elegant, and practical, However, as great as the design and instruction of this video is, there are some people who cannot afford most of the tools you use in this video. Could you please consider making a video with basic tools?
Thanks Chris. The only method that would change regarding tools would be the use of the Domino. So to glue up the top and bottom panels to the legs, you can simply cut dados with a router. You can achieve an equally strong joint. All the other operations should be the same regardless of the tools you have. Of course, you won’t be able to cut the tapers without a tapering jig and I highly recommend the one that’s linked in my descriptions.
Beautiful build, love the chill atmosphere that you make with music and narration. I am wondering what brand 90 degree clamps are the ones you have? I can't find them anywhere, thanks ahead of time. Keep it going, i too am learning off youtube.
I'm loving the leg design! Do you think it could be scaled up to say, something like a computer desk, or would it not handle the stresses and weight? I know bridle joints are dumb strong, but I have no concept of HOW strong
It’s VERY strong. I do plan to build a computer desk with similar type of construction. Just don’t know when. But I sat on these night stands and there is no flexing
It’s ok. I’m new to woodworking as well...I was concerned about strength at first too. But once everything came together, I had no question about how strong it was. The direction of the grain plus the joint makes it extremely sturdy
Hi love from Sri Lanka just so interested in to know what you use to the finishing in walnut wood that made clean endings in your work is so satisfying ❤️
This is exactly the kind of table I wanted to build for my bedside. I was worried about how thin the wood must be in order for the wireless charging to still work. What thickness did you cut it down to?
I think my charger was rated for 5mm. I left about 3mm of material. So just short of 1/8”. The phone case I use is only 0.3mm thick, that’s why it works. I wouldn’t use it with thicker phone cases.
Man, I love this video. The time you take to explain every little step is so helpful. Makes it seem more manageable to try making some nicer furniture :) To this point, my furniture attempts have been all about functionality with little to no thought about aesthetics. Trying to change that and your content on here and Instagram has been really helpful!
very nice work, I really like your designs... but that kind of card scraper was that? it looked super thick... I've been looking into using a piece of plate glass but I cant find to much info on it
Hey, i have a SketchUp file of this, but the height is a bit different from the one I actually built because i changed the height in the middle of the build
@@BevelishCreations That would be a great jumpstart if you wouldn't mind sharing. I grabbed some Padauk at my local dealer and thought a Cherry/Padauk combo might look cool in something like this.
