Roger Hodgson was the creative, driving songwriting force behind many of Supertramp's most popular hits, such as "Give a Little Bit," "The Logical Song," "Dreamer," "Take the Long Way Home," "Breakfast in America," "School," "It's Raining Again," "Fool's Overture" and countless others. Many do not realize that while Roger and Supertramp's other co-founder shared songwriter credit, they actually wrote and composed their own songs separately, with each singing lead vocals on their own songs.

The chorus could be my biography the years after my husband died. I learned to be strong. I didn’t rely on anyone. I raised our kids and made it alone. Living that chorus can be hard. If you’re like that too long, and someone comes along who wants to be in your life, you find yourself thinking it over maybe too much. Company would be nice, but I don’t need anyone. I just as soon make it alone as I have been for so long. I may change my mind. Time will tell. If it doesn’t work out, that’s fine. I’ll keep going as I have for many years now.
Was awake late one night with my radio playing on a old Boston ststion WBCN and this came on at 2:10 am and said to myself what a beautiful song this is and bought it the next day. Only heard on the radio that once, what a shame as this is one great song to listen to and this song was ahead of it`s time. ( LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH )

Here is A Man that looks like he thoughly enjoys singing his music. His music sells itself. Though simple showmanship. No fancy song and dance "Easy" to list to. I've always thoughly enjoyed Supertramp right from the early mid 70's to now 35plus years. Compare to what we have Now. I wish in alot ways, we could have this kind of rock come back. I used to hear this song in class in the eighties. My drafting teacher always had a radio on. I never knew the names or artist and many years later when I started searching for it all I knew was a baby was crying at the beginning. I just found it today. Thirty some years later. Thank goodness this song haunted me until I found it again.
I thouight i would never get to hear this live. Well last summer I did and today found out he is again coming to the US and playing the same venue. Snoqualmie in the state of Washington. And it's not a dream! Thanks for the posting.

Hodgson has to be the most underrated and unnoticed guitarist out there. He has that rare ability to not overplay a solo but make it just enough to stick in your mind. Genius
. . . .This is one of the great songs that are always out there , but few from we old potheads can truly identify for thier greatness . . . . . .because we lived it . Its like being stoned for the first time all over again just hearing this great song almost 40 years later . Love it !

In my opinion, this is the best song never heard on the radio. Even when it first came out, it was very under-played probably due to its length or maybe it was because Roger had recently split with Supertramp and it was because of that. Who knows? Anyway thanks for posting the whole song not just the short version!!

Excellent video! When I was younger had a dream similar than the original version of this song. After, Roger Hodgson introduced this beautiful song with that video. What a marvelous theme, I remember nice times in 1984 in my secundary school... now I dance with this song, and the new video is full of energy, like this great piece of music!

I bought my copy of In The Eye Of The Storm back in the early 2000s. For years I had Roger's song Had A Dream (Sleeping With The Enemy) stuck in the back of my mind because I remembered it being his first hit of his solo career after departing Supertramp. When I got my copy of this CD, I actually ordered 2. I got one for my Sis and Brother in Law as well. Hooked On A Problem is a snappy tune on the album. Lovers In The Wind is a rather haunting melody. Give Me Love, Give Me Life is another awesome tune on this recording that really grabs me. I would highly recommend this album as it's a real treat for the ears and senses.
I had the distinct Honor and Privelage of seeing Roger 4 years straight from '05-'08 at an upstart Festival in Southeastern WI that Mother Nature with all her wrath managed to put a stop to this awesome festival. 4 yrs in a row and never disappointed!!

For 29 years the title of this favorite song has eluded me.I owned a 45rpm of it. I could only remember the crying baby at the start, a small peice of the tune played on piano in the few seconds between the prologue and start of the song. I always remembered the artist was the lead of a big group at the time, left and started solo, yet couldnt remember the group or his name...I have always known of both of them, but couldnt put them together til i knew the title of the song. Thus I could never put Group,Artist & Song together...29 yrs of frustration finally over...and i love it just as much at 46 as i did at 17 :)

thanks for the heads up! I saw them before they debuted that LP.. I love old school Supertramp!!! Their concert opened with School and was fantastic. When they got to Rudy the had a huge wide screen with a train and the camera on front. What a ride!. On a side note, my personal TH-cam account was deleted for using Even In The Quietest Moments mp3 as a background to a video. I am YT hero for Supertramp!! lol.. regards!
