Spider-Man and Invincible: A Battle of Beliefs - Video Essay

- Invincible has been out for some time now, and I couldn't help but notice the similarities between him and everyone's favorite super hero: Spider-Man. Both of these heroes face immeasurable odds and take on numerous sacrifices for the greater good, and that's what makes them feel so heroic. Despite the pain it causes them, they stick to their beliefs and win the day. Many super hero stories resonate so much because of this, stories where characters don't change, but triumph and change the world around them as a result. In this video, I take a look at two of my favorite heroes, Spider-Man and Invincible, and explore why their stories feel so powerful, as well as taking a look at the power of beliefs in storytelling.
Hello all, sorry this video took a bit to make, I've been absolutely grinding as of late. I also added in some other skit type things that I hope people think are funny, because I want to implement more of those into my videos. If they suck, oh well. I also wanted to thank you all for the continued support. I have a lot of ideas, but as I try to up the quality of my videos and my ideas fester more in my tiny brain, these videos only take longer to make. Sorry. But! I'll be working hard to make the best videos I can, so stay tuned.

great video essay, and pointing out what makes a good battle with the protagonist and the antagonist. i'd also say that netflix's daredevil could also go on there for the battle of beliefs, it's such a great show, probably the best thing marvel has put out there since 2004

On that beginning skit, the I wouldn't really say that the MCU has had a massive drop in quality. If anything, they're about the same quality as past titles. I don't know why there's a sudden shift in the narrative, that this quality makes all Marvel projects shit now, but they're not really any worse and they're just as enjoyable. Sure, there are a few rough ones, but it depends on the project. Just look at all the well-received projects, like Loki, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, WandaVision, Moon Knight, Werewolf By Night, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, and Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3. Not to mention unfairly hated ones like Thor: Love and Thunder and She-Hulk (just hear me out here, I'm not a film critic. I'm an average movie-goer. I walk in to a movie expecting to have a good time, and the MCU has mostly done a good job at being a good time). The MCU isn't the best superhero media out there, but it's not awful.

I was with you, until you digressed into video games, at which time I lost interest. I understand it was not integral to the video and you were talking about other issues; but I just can't take anyone referring to videos games to make a point seriously.
The video game told a story, he was talking about said story, not the game. Smh

@@IAmMega I am against competition. I don't like competitive people. In games where there is interaction between players, there are either rules limiting free speech or a toxic culture. When there are games played solo, a culture still comes into existence around them, or worse, they stifle social interaction. When a culture comes into existence around solo games, people then praise worthless skills. FPS games are used to desensitize people so they will be better soldiers. Should I continue? I could go on....
