Oh man, Silent Bomber cardinal Syn Wild 9 are some of my absolute ps1 favorites. thanks for mentioning them and it is a shame that they did not make it on the part 1 or part 2 lists :(
To me Its 2024 and the PS1 is still Awesome! I love watching your videos to see what games are out there that i didn't know exist. I enjoy the thrill of the game hunt! Thank you for another great video!! 👍 😎👍
This must be the first time I've heard a youtuber say anything about vampire hunter D before 👍🏼 I completed it when I was in my teens over 20 years ago and this upload brought back a tidal wave of nostalgia my brain has had locked away for decades 🤣
Saiyuki Journey West is such an easy recommendation. The magic system is so much fun and has incredible effects. If you haven’t played it you should! Great music and great fun.
While that's true, it doesn't usually happens the other way around. When north american youtubers talk about games only released in NTSC region don't actually mention it.
Not so popular, but really good games I played (some of them could be already covered): > V-rally 2: really good alternative to Colin 2.0, but having way better 4 player races. Multiplayer just rocks. Cons: sometimes you can slow to 0 on a nearby rock, but it's an added value in couch competition :) ). > Tombi (EU) / Tomba: best 2d adventure. > Soviet Strike: introduction to the series on PS1. Only 5 stages, but atmosphere and tension are doing the job. > Worms Armageddon: should be launched at any couch party when you have 3-4 players. > Forsaken: best entry for "Descent" like titles. Really polished title. > Rage Racer: to me still the best game of the series. Even with small amount of tracks the championship mode with its competition and car upgrades is just on another level. > Bust-a-move 3DX: what I remember is a good challenging arcade mode and level customization. Spent much time on that, especially on Multiplayer (for me better than S puzzle fighter 2). > Twisted Metal 2: not gonna talk about this one. Best split-screen 2 player action game.
For those who don't want to look for a PS1 copy of Battle and Chase; you can pick up the Mega Man X Collection on PS2/Gamecube. You can unlock it just by beating the first 3 games. The Mega Man Anniversary Collection (PS2/Xbox/Gamecube) also has both the Power Battle arcade games as unlocks.
Great channel and some awesome recommendations. No one talks about Kagero: Deception 2 though and it’s a shame. Fantastic game about luring people to their death in your house of traps. Like Home Alone except dark and gothic.
There are a lot of great games I have played on this list as well as ones I still have yet to play and even a few I hadn't even heard of previously. Thank you for the reminder and for showing some interesting games that are new to me. Variable Geo seems to often get overlooked as a fighting game series and part of that might be because it originated from the eroge scene. However, the games had solid fighting mechanics and a charmingly quirky theme that I think a lot of gamers would enjoy. The games released under the Advanced Variable Geo name don't have any kind of eroge content to them and more players should give them a try. The eroge games in the series are also worth checking out for those who like those kinds of games.
Some awesome looking games here! The Adventures of Little Ralph looks like a sweet side-scroller hybrid, and Vampire Hunter D looks intriguing. Speed Punks I’ve never heard of, but looks like a solid cart racer. Awesome selections here man!
It would be good to mention that Strider 2 would not have been possible if not for the character's popularity due to his redesign in Marvel vs. Capcom. His appearance and all his moves are completely based on his MvC1 appearance and play style.
i happened to play and finish Speed Punks/Freaks not long ago, i loved it but damn the physics are more akin to a simulator than an arcade kart racing game.
Little extra info: "Speed Punks" is the US name of the game, PAL territories might know this game under the slightly different name "Speed Freaks". Why they felt the need to change that name is beyond me though...
I don't know why but the first one looks so familiar to me 🤔🤔🤔 Never heard about Ray crisis determination, definitely I check it out. Thanks for another hidden gems section... I love it.
It’s on the switch and ps4 too in an Hd collection from M2! Also check out Galactic Attack / RayForce / Layer Section (ridiculous that it has 3 names) also in that collection and on the Saturn. It’s the best game in the series.
Little Ralph looks pretty fun! I may have to give it a shot! I remember seeing Saiyuki in a magazine and my friend was really interested in it. As far as I know, he never played it. I didn't either lol! Mega Man Battle and Chase always seemed fun, though I haven't played it myself. I think it's unlockable on the Anniversary Collection?
I wish JRPGs on the Playstation were a dime-a-dozen! Beyond the Beyond & Legend of Dragoon (complete-in-box/CiB) are just under $50! Xenogears (CiB) is $150! Suikoden II is $230 (CiB)!! Persona (CiB) is $390 & Persona 2 (CiB) is $370! Valkyrie Profile (CiB) is $250!! Vagrant Story (CiB) is $90! Tales of Destiny 2 (CiB) is $215! Thousand Arms (CiB) is $145 - I shudder to think how that price increases when bundled with the mail-in music/multi-media CD!!!
Just an fyi to others, i beat Vampire Hunter D 10 years ago, and the tank controls mixed with platforming sections are tediously janky and hard, but it is a good game
I've always been really interested in beyond the beyond, since I love golden sun, but I've heard some bad things about it so I'm not sure I'll get around to it
5:43 dude! I always wondered where the game of variable geo was! They had an anime in which the loser would have to take off all their clothes. It was so out there. They had a tan chick i couldnt wait to see lose lol.
Ok after years of wondering what bgm you used for intro, i just found it was tekken 2 intro bgm...where nina siting on chair.. Thats why this bgm very familiar to me...🤣🤣🤣 And yes...i play tekken 2 on psx on that time... 96-97.. Damn...what a good ol’ times.....🤣🤣🤣
Strider and its sequel on PS1 are very fun. Too bad the price for the physical copy is way too high. Emulator will be a better choice for those that dont have the game.
Finally, Advanced V.G. 2 was mentioned on your channel. While more derivative than innovative (think of SF Alpha crossed with KoF), it's still quite a solid fighter on its own, and definitely a step up from the first game which is kinda... stiff, so to say. In comparison, combo chaining feels so fluid in A.V.G. 2 and some characters can do crazy combos, including infinites when the player is skilled enough. Super jumping and performing attacks out of the dash is also possible and enhances the gameplay a lot. Another thing worth mentioning about this game are character designs done by (unfortunately late) Takahiro Kimura, known for his involvement with Betterman, Dirty Pair Flash and Code Geass. For me personally Advanced V.G. 2 is *the* game that got me into fighters, a genre I avoided like plague for years. And Yuka is the best shoto-clone ever ;)
Beyond the Beyond aged like milk even for one of ps1's earliest jrpg. A mix bag of terrible game designs, a very tedious random encounter rate, and the active playing system that neither game nor it's manual explain to you along with a forgettable story makes it one of the most forgetting dud among jrpgs.
the guy doing the voiceovers sounds bored, this would be fine if it was a small channel with a few hundred or under 10,000 subscribers but having this large of an audience it's inexcusable. Games to mention. Tomba 1 / 2 , Team Buddies, Tron Bonne and possibly threads of fate all immediately come to mind. Maybe 102 dalmatians as well as it seems everyone played and somehow loved Toy Story 2 on PS1.
vampire hunter d. mib game really hard games but amazing games. on that time there was game on pc more like resident evil style but this game blow everything out graphicly. Nocturne. terminal reailty survival horror adventure game. Nocturne supose to out dreamcast if console not shutdown. graphics of nocturne look better than today games.
There's a really great PS1 game from Konami called Hellnight. I really think you would enjoy it
Silent bomber, cardinal syn, wild 9, assault, terracon, millenium soldier: expendable, adventures of Lomax, some of hidden gems that come to mind.
Great suggestions!
You are an awesome commentor😊
Oh man, Silent Bomber cardinal Syn Wild 9 are some of my absolute ps1 favorites. thanks for mentioning them and it is a shame that they did not make it on the part 1 or part 2 lists :(
Silent Bomber and Wild 9 are great games! Specially Silent Bomber, imo one of the best action games period on the PS1

Play it again with Duckstation
Really wish Ghoul Panic wasn't a PAL exclusive. Great list of games!
Little Ralph looks awesome.
It’s well worth playing!
@andrewdowell6474 not for the 300 bucks it goes for.
@@PT-vv3ep 300 is a bargain

Quickly has become one of my favorite gaming channels!
Thank you!
Always was for me that opening song hit my inner child
You should mention when certain games are PAL only. There is no Ghoul Panic for the NTSC region.
stuff like the region and if the game's been translated could be added under the title of the game on the top right and it would help a lot!
While that's true, it doesn't usually happens the other way around. When north american youtubers talk about games only released in NTSC region don't actually mention it.

Uprising X, Backyard Soccer, Top Shop, Battle Hunter, 102 Dalmatians : Puppies to the Rescue, and 40 Winks are pretty good, underrated gems as well.
These are my favorite videos to watch before falling asleep
Adventures of Little Ralph is super fun and memorable but it can get hard too! Dont be confused by the nice visuals
youve probably already covered it but one cool game was ray tracers. its an anime type racing game w unlockable cars and characters
Thank you man , might try that out
this channel is so legit, could not make my game list for emulation without it. thanks!

K1 World Grand Prix Kaimakuban, Pop'N' Tanks, Dioramos, Rakugaki Showtime, Misadventure of Tron Bonne
You had a light gun game in the video. Whether or not light guns work with modern LED TVs is a valid question.

"Beyond the beyond" is the game made by Camelot Software Planning, between "Shining Force 3" and "Golden Sun".

Take a zero off the going price for The Adventures of Little Ralph and I would certainly have that in my library.
