Hi! I was reading college confidential forums about Barnard Housing (idk how good of a source college confed can be). But a lot of the posters complained about upperclassmen housing at Barnard, saying that it was far away from campus, above restaurants, etc. Is this true? How good is the housing for the upperclassmen? I’m really interested in Barnard. I haven’t been able to tour them though, so I’m just curious about this... thank you for your helpful videos btw!
Hi! first of all thanks for watching! and I love upperclassmen housing, but yes it's true some places are "far" from campus (depends what you consider to be"far") and yes just like "normal" housing/apartments in the city, you might live above/near a restaurant. My sophomore year I lived at 110, which was on 110th and broadway. My dorm was directly above the vitamin shoppe/chipotle on the corner of 110 and bway! lol our window looked out to the CVS across the street. But I lovedddd feeling removed (if only by 6 blocks) from campus. I felt more independent/more like I was living as a "real" New Yorker in a "real" apartment, not so much a dorm. The furthest housing from campus is probs CG (cathedral gardens) its 110 and Manhattan ave (I think??) so about 15-20 min walk from campus depending which entrance you go to. and Plimpton is about a 7-10 min walk, again depending which entrance you go to. I loved housing as an upperclassmen, and if you really dont wanna live "far" from campus you can live in Hewitt (in the quad) or the 600s (right across the street from Barnard near shake shack). Hope this helped! and thanks for watching :)

It’s assigned so you can’t pick :( unless you enroll with disability services I think
