I’m a Junior in highschool right now and am going to be a Senior in a couple of months starting my college application process and I want to attend Barnard soooo freaking bad. I’m binge watching your guys’ videos and it just makes me want to go even more. Thank you for all this info on the school!!

Wow I love this!! I actually got into both Columbia & Barnard but I chose Barnard for this fall because that’s where I belong! I was a bit worried about how I’d be viewed as a barnard student using a “backdoor entrance” to columbia but this is really reassuring

do you think that Barnard will be test-optional next year due to the coronavirus? I know it's a very prestigious school but for an institution that claims so much emphasis on equity, it wouldn't make sense to me if they didn't? I'm just wondering what you as Barnard students think lol? Thank you!
Hi Anna! Although I am not sure exactly what they will do, I will say they have been extremely understanding and empathetic due to the coronavirus this year. All of the deans and faculty really care about the students and it has definitely shown during this time. I believe that they should make it test optional for equity reasons like you said, and I think many students and faculty feel the same way. It wouldn't surprised me if they do, however I am not sure what would go into making that decision

you're welcome! And we have yet to receive them via the mail (lol) but I believe that our diploma will say both (idk if it'll say "Barnard College/Columbia University" or like "Barnard College of Columbia University"). We can lyk in a few weeks when we've graduated officially!

you can major in cs at Barnard! no need to do it through SEAS. Diana was a cs major for a bit and ended up with a cs minor thru Barnard :)

Hi! good question. Do you want a liberal arts school or a large research school? As a woman, are you interested in an all-women's school or is that not a priority? The line between Barnard and Columbia is honestly so thin that really either decision you make is a good one, cause if you go to Columbia you have access to Barnard and vice versa! So I would really say it comes down to if you want to be part of an all women's college or not
@@mjdandnyc3193 the thing is, i dont mind going to an all women's college, which makes it more difficult to know which one i should apply ED😪

Do you have to dorm?
Nope, you can live off campus, but once you live off campus you’re out of the housing pool so you have to be sure you don’t wanna live in dorms bc once you leave you aren’t guaranteed dorm housing

seriously. Barnard is v misunderstood I think, especially when it comes to the relationship w Columbia!
