I think the simple answer is to have both going and also add crafting to the mix. Mogs sell BUT your AH prices need to be realistic. Just because the tooltip says 80k dont mean it will ever sell for that. Do some research, look at the sell rate, what the item looks like etc. weeding out the good mogs from the bad is a time consuming process. Dont bother with rings or necklaces, disenchant those. Once you have a massive amount of well priced and curated mogs you will make bank. Mats are a quick win and keep you interested, mogs are where the money is at. And like the man says, that RNG ping from loot appraiser always sounds good. 😀
Also, low pop server means no gains with mog
I don't know. I would have to say that old world mats are the way to go. Best to check your AH to see what the prices are at before going out to farm them. I'm on a high pop. server and none of my transmog has sold.
Great discussion video! And yay for discussion on a topic that is often one-sided (and fluctuates because it's not a static game or static market!). I think the biggest consideration that people don't often mention, but you do, is watch motivates you and what is fun to do. The happy moment of a rare drop ... I never would have considered that to be a motivate, so it was cool to hear that perspective.
I realized it was time to focus on materials farming after I heard the advice of minimum 1000 items on the AH. I post things manually...so I will not be doing that and honestly it was a huge relief. Also, if there is rare mog, I want the appearance for my toons first before selling it on the AH. So that means any rare stuff I have to find TWICE to have the opportunity to make gold off it. So, I'd rather gather materials & run dungeons/raids for fun because I like learning the maps and what routes work well...because I find that fun. And the mats bring in gold, which if always nice. Found your channel recently & have been enjoying your videos. Take care!
I've been following your gathering and transmogs tutorials and I've been able to purchase 1 wow token so I got to thank you for the videos! Yes, the rng is quite the appeal, on my 3rd run of shadowfang keep i got the shadowfang meanwhile i've ran uldaman many times and for most of the items they sell for 10g 😅
Recently got back into wow with a fresh account after not playing since WOTLK, been back for a few weeks and I was looking around for ways to make gold. I did the sunwell transmog farm the other day, got about 120k *value* in two schematics in 30 runs, the problem I have with transmog so far is my stuff just doesn't sell, I've got hundreds of thousands in value for transmog and over the last 3 weeks and I've sold a total of zero. Not sure what the turnaround is meant to look like but i'm high pop so I expected atleast the sunwell stuff to sell quickly. Word of advice to anyone new to WoW looking to break their first 100k, which I still haven't, is do material farms as they'll likely actually sell short term so you actually have some money to throw around, cause transmog just doesn't in my experience.
Cheers for the guides mate! Subsribed from Australia

@@extracify3229 checking this out now, appreciate you!
mogs sell for sure but its a patience game i only post those with good sell rate
I play on a low pop server and haven't sold any in 2 months
Materials. I just started wow again. By lvl 12 I had over 7k gold through Materials
😂😂 nice! Great start getting back into wow!
still to this day havent made a single gold from any tmogs from any videos from your channel, boophies, etc. no disrespect. i just wish there was more transparency in the videos, took me stumbling upon a youtuber named shy from the uk who told me the dirty truth about youtubes tmog farmers. mats def make you more consistent easy gold, and are the only reason i was able to get my first wow token. havent played in a week had over 500+ tmogs in my ah, totaling around 3mil gold and didnt sell a single one.just disappointing i wish youtubers would reveal the actual ways that making gold can be simple such as firelands tiny chests, old naxxramas tmog etc.
edit: just wanted to point out i do like your videos and am subscribed but this video is a no brainer and definitely seems click baity. dont turn into another boophie for youtube subs.
am not you tube dude and i made since 2012 around 350m solely from mog…its not for everyone thou…whoever says tmog dont sells its that they didnt have patience to deal with market or they didnt had good enough portfolio of mog or they play on dead&low pop realm .for example i have unique 5k pieces of mog on ah and montly is always 500-1.5m sales…literally always
@@lordanbuble5167 350 million isn’t a good example is 10+ years. hate to say it.
@@tyvert4882actually am posting on shy discord daily tmog sales aswell😂
I made over 1.23 millions gold in last week that :
1. Doing NO transmog farming.
2. Doing ZERO gathering of ore or herbs from Dragonflight or any old content.
3. Doing ZERO professional crafting, dragonflight or old content.
4. I only run single account.
So stop litsen to youtube gold scammer and just play the game and understand how it works.
@@jimmydance4840 fire lands tiny chest farming only for a week yielded me almost a million so like idk man. if tmog farming is for these people that’s fine but after a few months of playing idk kinda not worth doing just for an item you put today to sell a year later lmao. it’s not consistent so yea i think these people need to just learn how to play and how to spot a youtuber who’s click baiting
'Promosm'
clickbate
lol no
