Shared on our home page today. Looking forward to more great videos on your new boat, Chip. Hope to see you out there on the water. Just wave as you pass us in our 7 knot trawler!
cool- onscreen underwater map -theres a rock sticking out of the water offshore bois blanc island in the straits of mac- the map i had showed it touching the island, almost hit it planed out, 1/4 mile offshore -it was the same color as the sky and water, ergo invisible
+Jack Backstreet Have you seen what they did to the 29? Significant changes to the styling. The 25, 27, and now the 31 are the classic-style Ranger Tugs. (And of course the 21, but that's a day boat.)
Is the water always flat where you go? There is no way to see how she handles wake or weather from what you salesmen show. Are you all allergic to waves ? Every boat ad is the same.
Chip isn't a salesman; he's a world-renowned hydroplane racer who has retired and is now into exploring recreational boating in the Pacific Northwest. He doesn't represent Ranger Tugs except as an owner. If you watch all of Season 2 (this is Season 2 Episode 1) you'll see why Puget Sound and all of the Salish Sea is such a popular boating location: we get a lot of rain, but the seas are calm more often than not. However, if you DO want to see how Fluid Motion's Puget Sound-built boats handle less-than-tranquil water, see: th-cam.com/video/jRGr4_RhxNI/w-d-xo.html
Having lived in the area my entire life I can tell you that Puget Sound and the Strait of Juan de Fuca both get quite rough. Puget Sound isn't going to see monster 20' high breaking waves like you would see on our coast. But we do get waves in the 4-5' range and some of the more open areas might see waves higher than that. While that may not sound very bad or scary, the danger here is the frequency of the waves. The Strait would see waves much higher. Make no mistake, Puget Sound is a wonderful place to go boating but it can be extremely dangerous as well. There have been many boaters that didn't return because they underestimated the waters here.
Why does he "need" to? To please your sense of "proper"? He doesn't care. Also, if you freeze the video at 2:07 you'll see that the nails of his left hand are clipped short, but his right hand's nails are longer...just like a classical guitar player might have them. Hmmm.
I just found these. Please come bac
Amazing series! The Puget Sound is incomparable. I'm so sad I discovered this too late..Come back Chip!!
They treat all of their customers this way. I have a 2007 R25, Hull #7. Just an amazing boat and an amazing company.
