I can't imagine how blessed the people of this congregation and community are; here we are lucky if the church has 2 masses a week on Sunday. Many churches don't even have a daily mass, and all the time the church is locked. You can't go in to pray, and appointments with the priest are limited to 15 minutes, and you might have to wait weeks. Confession is only held 45 to 60 min a week, so noone bothers going. You know that unless you are first or second in line you won't get in. If we had a church like this, I would practically live there, and do my confession weekly. I hope these people realize how blessed they are; many of us struggle alone. Our only spiritual direction must come from God himself.

The orthodox church was established by Christ Himself our Savior and God .All the teachings in the orthodox church were given to us by the Holy Spirit through the Holy Apostles and the Holy Fathers
Everything beside the Orthodox Church teachings it’s heresy and it’s sin against the Holy Spirit
The most important thing is to find a spiritual father . No one can be saved without guidance from a father confessor. The Sacrament of Confession it’s the foundation of repentance.Your spiritual father will teach you everything . I recommend you to look for a spiritual father from monastery. They know the art of salvation through Inner Prayer ( Jesus Prayer)
You can start saying the prayer: Oh Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God have mercy on me the sinner !
The Grace of the Holy Spirit who work through the Prayer will guide you
      Say this prayer unceasingly

With all due respect to the Elder, and speaking as someone who has myself converted from Hinduism to Orthodoxy, and having also read his book “The Gurus, The Young Man and Elder Paisios”, I from the bottom of my heart wish to say that what the Elder is describing here is not Hinduism. Hinduism is not just a demonic religion of sorcerers and black magicians. Yes, some of this element exists, but it is a relatively minor part of the religion. The common Hindu person follows a religion where they see God in everything and try to know Him. Of course, they do not know about Jesus Christ and have not understood the good news of His death and resurrection, but it is not right or correct to condemn all of Hinduism as simply black magic and sorcery. There are in fact some parts of Hindu practice which come very close to Orthodoxy, in terms of deep and heartfelt devotion to a personal God. Apologies to all who may be offended by my statement, please remember that I’m also now your humble brother in the Orthodox faith, but I was born a Hindu and cannot agree with the way the Elder is describing it. That was not my experience of it.

...I mean, it's cute and all, but when someone says "i was studying comparative religion and chose hinduism", and then show extremely weak knowledge about the absolute basics of hinduism, and proceed to explain how he was in a sect that even hindus themselves condemn... you can see how it doesn't sound too good, ye? From the hindu points of view, there is only 1 god, in many different persons, which shouldn't be too hard to comprehend for christians, out of all lol

I love Christ but I also love Hanumanji and Neem karoli baba the Great Saint from India and Om sai Ram. These guys all preach love love love and when you mention Christ to them they are in love with him to. I believe that this dude and his friend were just on the demonic path period and Hinduism itself isnt really to be blamed perhaps it can be more easy to go down the path of the demonic with Hinduism more so than with Christianity though. But yeah being obsessed with Gold and power any proper Guru in Hinduism or priest or spiritual practitioner would tell them this is not the way. Plenty of people get demons exercised through the Hindu religion.

    • @daggerfighter

"These guys all preach love love love and when you mention Christ to them they are in love with him to." - sorry, but how else do you expect it to be? Almost every cult on earth proclaims love and acknowledges Christ by words. This is no news. But Christ is of other opinion and says there's only one way which is through Him and the one going not throught the main gate but over the fence is a thief and a robber. That's literally his words (John 10) to take into account while speaking about other sprirituality. So if one seemingly agrees with Christ but denies his own words is a kind of hypocricy.

@@daggerfighterthe fact that christians are divided in many different churches means that the real teaching of Jesus is being changed, mixed, deleted . or wrongly interpreted .
The hindus believe that God is Love and that Love is for all creation , and that everybody that follow the 5 spiritual values ( Shanti- peace , Prema- Love , Sathya- truth , Dharma- right way of live , Ahimsa- non violence ) deserve that love and salvation . Hindus also believe that at the end that there is only one God , with many names and different forms . Christian instead believe that God in not so Great , loving and compassionate and that will save only the people that recognise Him only in the form of Jesus .
