This game does look like a true evolution of 2D Zelda. Her first solo game does look like something unlike anything the series has done before.
It's just A Link between Worlds with Breath of the Wild mechanics added in so i hardly would call a blend of established mechanics an "evolution" of anything we haven't already seen before.

The art style of this game is amazing. Nintendo is throwing money away by not making these into plushies you can buy or something like that.

I would like a more traditional sharp pixel look like the SNES/GBC/GBA games personally. I think it's a bit of a shame what they've done to the style. I have no issue with how Wind Waker looks, but that sort of thing doesn't seem necessary for a 2D Zelda. The style here reminds me of TUNIC a bit also which is kind of funny with TUNIC itself being a Zelda-like.

@optimusN64 Yup. In Japan, it's called Triforce of the Gods 2, which, for context, Triforce of the Gods, is what A Link to the Past is called in Japan.

Everyone is excited but I’m a bit thrown off because I’m not a fan of BOTW TOTK
I’m very excited for this new Zelda game, so much so, that I’ve been playing some of the 2D Zelda games I haven’t 100 percented yet, such as A Link to the Past, Minish Cap, Cadence of Hyrule, and I’m thinking about replaying the Link’s Awakening remake before this comes out. Also, wouldn’t it be something if this game took place somewhere between Adventure of Link and Breath of the Wild, and it gets revealed that the River Zora become the Ritos seen in Breath of the Wild somewhere down the line?

Was it? I thought this game was developed by the same team who worked on the Link's Awakening Remake (Grezzo) with no direct input from the main Zelda Team.

@@NetBattler Seeing as it likely won't be an actual Zelda game, I will not count it as her debut. Otherwise, if we were counted non-Zelda games, then her debut technically would have been back in Melee.
@ClawsAndTeeth You make no sense. This is a The Legend of Zelda game. It's as much of a Zelda game as the original NES games, the N64 games, A Link to the Past, etc. Yes, Zelda's playable debut in a game was Melee, but that's a Smash game, not a Zelda game. What he meant is that this is Zelda's playable debut in a The Legend of Zelda game, if you completely ignore the CD-i games like Nintendo does nowadays.

Ocarina of time you had different horses too, no? Or was it majora's mask? I know one was faster than the other. 😂
You could ride other horses in OoT but only in Lon Lon Ranch in the adult timeline. Years ago I tried racing Ingo on one of those other horses and lost miserably.😂
