Woooow it’s impressive how I managed to totally get this uploaded on the day of the direct hahahaha!! Wait…what do you mean the direct was last Tuesday? Uhhhhhh…OH HEY LOOK- a Zonai swirl’s over there!
In another four months I'd like to see a collab video with Monster Maze about speculating what is and is going to be Fujibayashi's headcanon, and eventual actual canon of Zelda, in the case they do the same kind of consolidation as Sonic is assumed to have, going forward. Myself I think his personal tropes are Mirror worlds, reflections of what you DON'T do, seeping into what you DO do (Shadow Link)... And ACTUALLY just the movie The Flight of Dragons by TopCraft that preceded Studio Ghibli. Giving rise to a lot of the dragon imagery in the later games. And he just IS the Happy Mask Salesman. I think people were joking about him going on about masks even during the Majora's Mask development, which would soon materialize in his work with the Capcom staff of Zelda games and the maskedness of the Champions.
Personally i lean on both Link and Ganon having become _enslaved_ by the new villain after they "absorbed" their echoes similar to how Zelda can do so with all the enemies shown during the trailer. The final battle might involve having to free Link and Ganon from the villain's grasp before using their echoes to help Zelda deliver the finishing blow.
You know, that's an interesting theory. Imagine if both Link and Ganon have been captured by the game's actual villain and they're using the two's echoes to help take over Hyrule. Somehow I imagine that the villain will also have their own ability to create echoes similar to Zelda's.
@@davisbowe8668 Exactly what i predict is going to happen in the story as a clever subversion to prevent the story from following the usual formula of "get items, complete dungeons, fight Ganon, The End" we've seen all across the top down 2D games since the original The Legend of Zelda. Since this will be the first instance in the series where Ganon is being _controlled_ by a brand new villain i'm super hyped to see them make their appereance and wether their introduction will affect the Lore in a way we've never seen yet.
Too bad my birthday is on the first week of September but I’m glad we are getting this game and I was just thinking a few weeks ago “Nintendo should make another Zelda game just like Links Awakening use that graphic style” and boom Nintendo drops this style once again!! 🤩I am so hype!! Can’t wait for this game to come out.
28:29 if you look in the top right, each skultulla costs two tri fragments. with two skultullas summoned and one fragment following Tri, that makes five total fragments, confirming that you will be able to upgrade your echo count
Just noticed that during the Skulltula shot, Zelda's actually got 5... ammo(?) for Tri. Each Skulltula takes 2, but she's got one left after summoning the second skull. So, in case anyone expected there to be exactly 1 upgrade for that, confirmation that there's at least 2, I guess.
My theory is that “Tri” is the Triforce of Wisdom, and the growing amount of triangles behind it are shards making me think as Zelda the main thing we will be getting from dungeons are Triforce shards. I think it could also be something interesting like in Avatar how Aang can commune with past avatars, maybe *this* Zelda is able to commune with past incarnations of Hylia, via Tri
I’ve been thinking about how or why Zelda would end up in a prison cell in Hyrule castle. We know it’s in the castle because of the later scene of seeing Impa (maybe) fighting the soldiers in the same setting. I have one plausible explanation for it. Zelda is brought back to the castle by the soldiers. She tells the king what she saw and says she wants to go out and search for Link. The king says no. Zelda says you can’t stop me. The king says try me and locks her in the dungeon. That could be the reason she’s kinda under lockdown and the tutorial will be to escape the castle to start our search for Link.
Although I like your defiant daughter, Strict King (Very BOTW) idea, I have a feeling the King will be corrupted by evil and order the guards to capture Zelda cause she is a "Fraud" or something. I dont believe the guards themselves to be corrupted, since they look normal and Nintendo is not usually subtle with those things (Purple or Black fog surrounding corrupt characters usually.), but we 1) havnt seen the king (Probably because spoilers) and 2) can assume there is a king and the guards would listen to him over the princess, although Impa would side with the Princess and likely is the one to let her out of the jail cell.
@@takedownthelights537 i'm also in favor of the over protective father exclamation for Zelda's imprisonment it dose seem very plausible but as for your evil king theory maybe instead of the king being evil maybe there is an evil echo of zelda created by whoever our new villain might be that tricks the king into thinking our Zelda is a fake Zelda.
I think she was brought to a mirror world and attacked by this world's Link, assuming she controls Ganon. Reaching the castle town she admits Link went missing and is captured as an enemy or impostor of their Zelda. Wanda. It's a little weird how she inspects her arms soona fter being released from the crystal, so she might actually be somebody in a body that's not her own, BUT on the other hand that kind of emotive body language is ofthen pretty clumsily directed, like overacting for a theater play. IN which case it probably means nothing, just "oh, look at me, I'm freed!" chewing the scenery. Also I for certain reasons suspect the game is entirely worldless, in the same way as Paper Mario. This would be partly to hide the fact you're not actually playing as A Zelda, but it's hard to say to what extent. Could also be Zelda in the body of Wanda.
It's funny how the entire Zelda community when from "Who are the Zonai? Where are the Zonai? Why are the Zonai? We need more Zonai!" to "NOO GOD! NO GOD PLEASE NO! NO NO NOOOOOO!" in an instant hahaha
The Japanese name is mindlessly said to mean Tart Knuckle, but it's from Turtle Knuckle, very typical English words for a Japanese person to know. Probably from show wrestling terms, like turtle defense and I dunno, knuckle sandwich. Back knuckle tennis strike perhaps. Turtle shell design came to Japan very prominently in the form of high-quality eyeglasses, and the methods to manufacture resin alternatives that is a lauded ecological innovation. Similar to Japanese inventing the blue LED light, it's a household name still living on in Tart Optical Arnel. Nut like doughnut just means knot, there's nothing to it really except poor spelling to force a pun and laugh about everything being dirty if you squint and try to make it.
The most intriguing thing is definitely the way that concepts and motifs from different eras of Zelda, including stuff that was only ever in the 3D games before now, is making an appearance in this game.
Fantastic analysis as usual. One thing you might have overlooked (intentionally as some others have noted it?): the summoned enemy echoes begin to flash yellow after a certain amount of time which most likely indicates that they won’t simply exist until they’ve taken a sufficient amount of damage
If I recall correctly, there's an ocean zora in Oracle of Ages that mentions they aren't violent like river zora. If I'm not wrong, that could be precedent for the two disliking each other, even though Labrynna isn't technically Hyrule. Edit: Living candles too, except they only walk around lit for a very small amount of time after lighting them.
My theory is that Zelda is imprisoned by the King because she wants to go out and find Link. The king probably doesn't want her to risk her life like that, and thus you have to escape from the castle and hide your identity with the cloak. By the way, I love how everyone was speculating if we would be able to play as Zelda in Tears of the Kingdom, and now we're theorizing that we might get to play as Link in Echoes of Wisdom.
Another thing to consider about Zelda in Disguise, Link, while is able to make comments during choice dialogue, is often a silent protagonist, Zelda is more often than not, a much more talkative character. That said, since she’s now playable, I can assume her disguise is more likely made so she isn’t as talkative, to not give away those talking to her as THE PRINCESS OF HYRULE. Going undercover means limiting how she’s going to address others. We might even go back to naming her ourselves as an alias, like back in the day where we could rename Link to fit the save file. Wishful thinking, but it’s possible for Nintendo to do that call back, or simply use our switch profile name.
That's a good observation honestly, I think that'd be really cool! The game definitely has a more traditional set-up so having Zelda choose her own name might make sense.
Somehow I picture this having to appear in some sort of "Echo Realm". A void with a golden glow, like a counter to the purple one infesting the land. Within the defined boundaries of the space available in this realm, we can summon cost-free or nearly cost-free echoes (probably some purchase mechanic before we can use certain things and a limit on the total number of pieces that can be conjured at once) which have permanence instead of having a time limit to despawn. ... ... ... Actually, what if the stones that we activate with the yellow marks act as access points to this place? And maybe it could tie into some story purpose like we're constructing a defense against the infesting void by building something there?
There is zero evidence we play as Link. I'm good with it either way, but this has always looked like a cutscene to me. The spinjump doesn't look controlled to me. I'm worried people are hyping up Link segments, or Zelda with a sword, to cope with the fact that the game might just be different. I'm ok with different, in this case. I would like Zelda to get some Zelda-like abilities in addition to her echoes, but I have a sneaking suspicion the echoes and some utility items are all we may get.
I'll reserve my "multiple character selection" expectations for some future title after this one. The purpose of this one will be to flesh out an alternative play style from everything we're familiar with. We've got decades of experience with how somebody aligned with the Courage value system approaches combat and problem solving (although arguably some Links do get some splashes of Wisdom (any time we've had access to magic, especially if it could manipulate a situation to our benefit) and Power (trial by combat to earn Gorons' respect and to get the Bulblin King to back down, plus some of the overpowered war machines that we could build in TotK) mixed into their journey as well). Now it's time to really establish how the Wisdom way of thinking is different from that. Functionally, as a playable character. Some other game in the future (possibly after a Power aligned character gets a solo game as well) can have a team dynamic with a Link and a Zelda and... a Groose, I guess? A trio sharing a journey together and filling different niches in the team. Or more than three characters to be more like what TP's freedom fighters or BotW's champions or TotK's sages could've been like as active party members. A great big mashup of all of those concepts where the party includes 2 or 3 members per each of the 3 mindsets (6-9 characters in total, including Link) but at the same time some of them might be hybrids between a couple mindsets to some degree instead of them all being 100% one way to make the gameplay more unique for each of them. (Pure Courage, Pure Wisdom, Pure Power, Courage with a splash of Wisdom, Courage with a splash of Power, Wisdom with a splash of Courage, Wisdom with a splash of Power, Power with a splash of Courage, Power with a splash of Wisdom. Each with their own signature weapon and their own bag of tricks.)
While I agree with the overall message of your comment, there is teeny tiny sugestion that the Ganon part might be playable as Link. All npcs and enemies in game as well as in cinematics seem to have normal shadows, but playable Zelda and Tri have just plain circles under them (not taking sun position etc.). Zelda has normal shadow when the opening cutscene plays though, so we have some info to understand that circles are only under Zelda when she's playable, and Link during these stages has indeed plain circular shadow. I'm not so sure about regular swapping of characters in later games or Hero Mode swap, highly unlikely, but they may want to repeat that TotK vibe from the beginning
@@karolfortuna8522 you could have a point, but I think it might be static npcs have better defined shadows. I dunno for sure, but maybe npcs that move have the circular shadows, or as someone else argued, the circular shadows could be to help better determine the landing position of some attacking creatures, since it's top-town. I can't explain the shadows, but something tells me it's not for controllable characters. It would be super cool though. Don't get me wrong, a playable link would be great, but I think Nintendo might be coming from the perspective that this isn't links game, so we don't play as link. I don't believe we require Link as a main protag anymore, but the fans... and you know, other trash opinions about gender etc. Even more exciting than that would be a playable Ganon, but I see no chance of that. Nintendo likes their villians 2d. Perspective grants nuance, and we fight ganon, not empathize, as cool as a "breaking the cycle" storyline would be where they all team up.
I think the "spotlight item" from 28:07 is actually a wind blower like we see at 15:38 except it's not mounted on the wall. The tip of the canon looks identical to the wall mounted blowers, and the environment appears to be the same desert themed dungeon or cave.
Link’s disappearance to the void dimension after freeing his princess had a cool parallel to Zelda’s fall before sent back in time in Tears of the Kingdom. While some people claims the symbols on Link's hood is from the Twili, I believes both the hood and the bow Link had used to free Zelda is more like a Zonai design.
I just realizing something, the scene with the spiders, Zelda has summoned 2, each spider costs 2 triangles, Tri has 1 triangle floating behind it, thats a total of 5 triangles. One more than the max of 4 we saw elsewhere.
So someone else covered a lot of this mere hours after the trailer dropped, but yours was more in depth and best for me, you were the only one who has brought up the bubble stream. Most just say "oh the gauge is gone maybe she can get an item or something" I bet you'll have to try and hit air bubble spots to get through more of it. Thanks for the video
4:20 now hold on, you do need the Master Sword for the end of TotK. Sure you can beat Ganondorf without it, but the game literally hands the sword to you for the Dragon fight.
Also good to note that the thing you’re besting in BotW with whatever weapon you’d like isn’t capital G Ganon Anyway I’m so excited for this game and I think that people already screaming that ‘classic Zelda is dead forever’ or that this game will also lack more linear and tightly designed dungeons are getting WAY ahead of themselves. Top-down Zelda games and the dungeon spaces they contain are far more easy to build limitations around. Furthermore, brute-forcing the same or similar solutions to most puzzles/challenges is not going to be the same issue as it was for some in TotK. 3D spaces are easier to exploit than ‘2D’ ones
Three minor corrections: 18:20 I believe that would be more of a brazier than a torch. Torches are primarily a single piece of wood. 23:19 That is a seagull, not a crow. It has a stereotypical coloration for a seagull, and, you know, crows are black. 28:07 That is a wind device, not a spotlight. Its nozzle is just like the ones blowing earlier in the video, and the emission from the one she copied is not uniform like a beam of light.
So many people are skirting around Robbie and Cherry coming back in this game. To me it just seems so clear that’s who the mad scientist sheikah is. But I’m excited to have him back. Maybe we’ll even get Purah too!
I’m really glad that you mentioned that this new Zelda game is a top down perspective and not calling it 2D like what everybody else says. Because it’s not 2D, it’s 3D from a top-down perspective.
This video got me excitedddd for the new game! i thought i was all tired of hearing people talk about this trailer but you really pulled out the little details. Another great video my man!
I think that the two huts in the river/waterfall area that you mention at 10:02 actually belong to Deku Scrubs, as opposed to the Zora. But both theories are valid until we've gotten the game in our hands to see for ourselves.
That breakable entrance in front of Lake Hylia is present in ALttP. I suspect they're going to merge the ALttP world with some BotW locations. The mountain on the right could be death mountain and the mountain on the left could be Hebra (though not icey or the mountainous region that makes up the Rito Village area. There appears to be a larger tree area behind Hyrule Castle which would align with the Lost Woods as depicted in BorW. Kakariko wouldn't be to the left, it would be on the right in BotW. The area on the left look like cubed blocks, a bit like big quarry stone. Which is a little reminiscent of Breah of Demise in the sense that it is very quarry like in its rock texture.
Some other stuff: When the rift cockblocks a guy (10:07), you can see she turns white as she sinks further. This doesn't happen with Link or Zelda, assuming she does enter the rifts that way. Possibly implying it petrifies the "not important," maybe non-Triforce-related, people. The potion that the Deku Scrub is holding (25:35) has 3 different colors in it which I believe is never seen in any other games, though he could just mix it into a proper potion after taking it out. The fountain in Castle Town with the Royal Crest seems different between the box art (26:07) and the trailer scene (8:26). The box art's appears more like the crests in Skyward Sword that you need to Skyward Strike. It's a similar crystalline-lavender color. In the box art, I believe you can see the top of the Great Deku Tree on the upper right, just above the Peahat. This is a little unrelated, but the Octoroks have goat eyes... 26:07
That's a really attention to detail ^. I'm actually wondering if these rifts may actually be a result of Lorule existence considering I don't think we ever saw it get restored at the end of ALBW did we? I know the rifts are likely typical dark world but it'd be nice if we actually got some continuity nods.
I like BOTW & TOTK - that said. they’re just not my preferred ZELDA games. I wish they did a traditional style Zelda game with TOTK . . . and went back to BOTW style on the next one after that. It’s too open for a Zelda Experience - one humble man’s confident opinion.
The stones with holes in them kind of remind me of an ocarina, but I've not seen anybody else talking about that. I don't think they **are** ocarinas, but I think it's neat that their shape is vaguely reminiscent of one. My theory is that perhaps they can refill Tri's energy or maybe even have something to do with upgrading it.
Since Zelda wields the Tri Rod for creative puzzle solving and spawning monsters to attack your enemies, I hope Nintendo hasn’t forgotten her divine power, her intellect (as a scholar), her time power (since she is the Sage of Time) and her signature weapon- her Bow of Light. They are very important parts to Princess Zelda. And what they've could of help the geoglyph memories in the TOTK side story we only get a glimpse of her journey in the distant past. I hope more reveals will be shown before Echoes of Wisdom is released.
Running with the possessed ganon idea, could the trident maybe have been what wss controlling him? It would make sense since it sticks around after he dies, along with seemingly being the source of the rifts
Sometimes things really do just look like Zonai stuff. TotK is the previous Zelda game, and this one uses some of the the same designs, it’s not crazy that the Zonai design makes its way into the game in different places.
I was definitely waiting to hear the classic "OH MY GOD!! IS THAT A ZONAI SWIRL?!?!" line before hitting the Like button. Thanks for delivering NBC!! Please, take my Like! Take it, take it take it, take it!!
its unlikely they we will be collecting any bomb bags? uh... there are 3 shortcut buttons like some old school zeldas have. im pretty confident that the rod and echoes will not be the only item you have to use.
OMG when you said is Tri an Echo of the triforce of wisdom I just thought: Imagine if we got a trio of games, first Echoes of Wisdom, then "something" of Courage and eventually "thingy" of Power and you get to play as Ganondorf!
It's interesting that the river zoras are here alongside the sea zoras, the former haven't really appeared in a 3D game before (aside from the remakes that are technically 3D, but still top-down) and I'd really like to see them more often.
Well said, it seems more than anything they want to connect this game to the modern 3D games by highlighting things we've never seen in the top down games before, that's cool. I wonder if Zelda will learn to swim like a Zora in this.
Regarding the master sword and deku tree - if you think about it, the Ocarina of Time deku tree (and wind waker for that matter) do not have the master sword in front of them. In Ocarina of Time you get it at the temple of time. So could just be the master sword is in a different location, link already has it, or maybe it's unavailable for some reason like being shattered like in totk or elsewhere.
maybe the strange grey statues with the yellow lights allow for the transport between the overworld and the rift world similar to the cracks in A link between worlds
Same, I feel like game design wise it would be too much work to polish a Link segment to the game with the risk that it wouldn't bring anything of value to the gameplay. I would imagine it has taken a big chunk of the development to perfect the new playstyle, so why would they focus energy to plop in a contrasting style
I agree. It would be weird to play as Link in the first game that has Zelda as the protagonist. That said, a Link or Shadow Link echo would be pretty cool.
Doesn't Tri have five triangles in the skulltula shot? Four are used on the two skulltula, and it looks like they still have one left after summoning the second.
27:10 Also note here that she is swimming yet there isnt a breathing gauge on screen at all, I believe there are 2 reasons for this. 1. She later gets an ability to hold her breath/can breath water (similar to the zora tunic ability in OOT) OR the other one which might be more likely since this shot also doesnt show any button icons or heart containers.... is that there will be an option to toggle a hud for gameplay screenshots and or captures
6:36 I wouldn't call this a 1:1 to the one from A Link to the Past. It's very similar, but what is clear is that it's expanded to some degree. Not the least of which is a new iteration of Death Mountain placed in an area that was outside of the ALttP map.
7:30 Nope. The Lost Woods area is still there in the same relative location to the west of what I will assume is supposed to be either Mt. Hebra or Mt. Lanayru.
Well said, my awesomely named friend. The only problem is this is Nintendo we're talking about when it comes to them it's always hard to tell whether it's a continuity change or simply an aesthetic one. The fact we see the great Deku tree should mean the lost woods are here but then again he wasn't in ALBW so.
@@Akechi_The_Phantom_Detective Thank you, friend. I don't know if it's necessarily the Lost Woods or not but the forest area is there between the two mountains. So Death Mountain is definitely west of the explorable area shown in Zelda 3's map. Actually, if you look at the in-game map from Zelda 3 the place where Death Mountain is located in EoW corresponds to the cloudy area in the upper left-hand corner.
I find it interesting that when people see Zelda in a crystal in the trailer they go “ah, like OOT” yet it reminds me way more of the crystals from 4 Swords adventures.
17:42 Oh please, the fact that Ganondorf wouldn't have been an epic threat before getting his Demon King Power unless the Gerudo ACTUALLY FOLLOWED HIM (the gossip stones confirming the Gerudo have a CULT around him!) has been quietly buried.
I might be stupid, but can the snowy mountain be Mount Lanayru? I think it can be Lanayru because it is very near of Death Mountain and Zora Domain. Also, I believe we'll get Faron and Hebra regions.
I actually think that sword link wields is a stylized interpretation of the master sword in this art style, after all, it is able to hurt ganon, and we see the great deku tree looking over a pedestal looking thing on the ground
Ganon has been shown to be vulnerable to other swords across the timelines such as the White Sword, Magic Sword, Biggoron Sword, Noble Sword and Four Sword so it's possible that the sword he wields in Echoes of Wisdom is also a new "legendary sword" similar to the aforementioned ones mentioned above.
Thinking about it now, the three Darknuts at the beginning (yes, they do look like the ones directly from Link's Awakening) but... wielding axes? I've watched other videos of people analyzing this trailer but not a single one suggested that those three enemies at the beginning could actually be Iron Knuckles. Also heavily armored enemies but they wield axes. I don't know, what do you guys think?
I've never played a 2.5D Zelda game before (I've only played OoT, BotW and TotK), so I'm VERY excited for this game! 😄 I've watched this video several times because it's my favourite trailer analysis video. Thanks for the vid! 🎮
Considering that there are four arrows for tools to be assigned to and we have only seen the tri rod tool, I wonder if perhaps one of the other tools is some technology tool that was used for the wind-up octorock
One thing that I don’t think I’ve seen people mention, but link would have already completed his journey throughout hyrule, and presumably beaten all the bosses in the dungeons to reach ganon before falling into the fissure, so I wonder how that will have an effect on this story, will there be bosses for Zelda to fight? Will npcs mention links adventures? Etc etc
Those are really good questions. In regards to "Will there be bosses for Zelda fight?", I think that is damn near certain given the structure for the boss fight of the Top Down is a perfect set-up for Zelda's skill which is to say the boss typically having a weakness to unique weaknesses throughout the dungeons and being taken on akin to a sort of puzzle oriented fight. I think the Palaces will have unique echo's Zelda will need and I think in regards to Link the game will probably refer to needing to free the chosen hero. I'm very curious myself.
If any of those patterns are Zonai related, it's probably just a throwback to Tears Of The Kingdom, but not story related. I'm pretty excited for this game. I'm glad they haven't completely given up on top-down Zelda.
***ABOUT LINK BEING POSSIBLY PLAYABLE *** I full on agree with the idea of still being able to play as Link in this game. I just cant shake the idea that this game is actually not "Zelda playable exclusive," however for probably most of the game you do play as Zelda as the main protagonist. Aonuma sensei himself said that she's the protagonist. I just don't see it happening though, where we absolutely avoid controlling Link at least a few times in this game. Also I feel like this game could be the origin of Dark Link, or some new way of series rendering Dark Link giving that the box art has Link next to Ganon with a dark aura around him. He might end up as an antagonist. We might have to beat him in combat (maybe midgame before kicking off the next act) and bring him to his senses all in the while gaining a "possibly playable," ally! If this is a thing and if possible we also get some kind of 2 player co-op (wishful thinking I know) but still, if we find out that this game is that much more in the near future, my mouth will be absolutely flooded with beautiful game wanting-ness and "she beckoning me," drool!!!
The breakable wall in the lower-right of the title card scene lines up fairly well with the Moldorm Cave from Link to the Past (randomizer players know that cave well, having 5 items available as soon as you have some form of weapon).
i totally thought the cloak, sword, and bow that link carry in the first scenes were reminiscent of the zonai too! i loved the wilds era and i absolutely hope that we see official references to it again
THe strangest part of this, is that it implies Ganon moved away from Death Mountain to Lake Hylia cause the part of Lake Hylia region leading to the Ice Rod cave is enveloped by the rift.
The big monster fish swimming in the background could be a boss. Kinda like that one boss from Metroid Dread. You saw it in the background here and there before you meet it.
I'm willing to bet the Ganon at the beginning is an echo summoned by whoever the villain of this game is. Maybe they got the copy of Ganon from a Ganon sealed by a previous Zelda and Link or some sages and he or she is trying to free Ganon because they are a servant of Ganon or they want to use his power like Yuga. I also imaging we will fight evil echo's of Link from time to time but we won't be able to make copy of him because we can't make a copy of a copy. That might also be the exclamation we get for why we can't make copy's of the bosses since they'll likely be echo's of the bosses Link fought on his adventure remade by our new villain. I also think Tri like Midna is a resident of this rift dimension that got caught up in this new villain's schemes and seeks aid from Zelda. I imaging at the end of the game we'll have a boss fight with the new villian our echo's vs their's. maybe they needed Link to unseal ganon witch is why they captured him. either way Ganon will get freed he'll likely get our new vilains echo staff during his boss fight. Then Zelda using Link echo's would be the main mechanic in the boss fight since the the real Link will likely be incapacitated in some way. On a side note I'm surprised no one has mentioned the climbable walls in the peahat scene also keep in mind we'll be able to bring Hyrules most dangerous weapon into battle cuccos.
Personally i feel both Link and Ganon will be turned into echoes by this new mysterious villain forcing Zelda to reclaim them for her own use before using them both during the final boss battle. If this game is confirmed to be a sequel to A Link between Worlds the ending could explain why Ganon is around during the events of the original The Legend of Zelda on the NES after he was freed from this new villain's control following the events of Echoes of Wisdom.
@@javiervasquez625 i imaging the evil link echo would work kind of like the evil zelda clone in totk where we'll hear rumors of link causing trouble through out hyrule. until we eventully run into him.
@@Reacted1991 Guess that's another possibility although personally i think that would be too predicable and unoriginal after we experienced such a scenario in Tears of the Kingdom. I bet wathever role Link will fulfill in this game will be paired with Ganon as implied in the gamebox's cover.
Given the appearance of the Deku tree & Zelda being captured in a pink crystal, this could be the imprisoning war at the beginning of the downfall timeline.
Noting that we do see that Tri has a total of five triangles in the side scrolling segment with the spiders. Two triangles are spent on each spider and one is left on Tri.
Well, the Twili realm should exist in the Downfall Timeline as well. Even the mirror should still exist, since it only shattered in the Child Timeline. The Interloper War and the banishment into the Twili realm happened in the unified timeline, so it should exist in all three branches. Maybe this parallel realm is connected to by rifts that we see. And, well... he learned the concept of jumping but traded it for the concept of rolling. I say rolling is superior, since it gives you i-frames in every game it appears in.
Woooow it’s impressive how I managed to totally get this uploaded on the day of the direct hahahaha!!
Wait…what do you mean the direct was last Tuesday?
Uhhhhhh…OH HEY LOOK- a Zonai swirl’s over there!
Yep, youngster. That there snek was called a rope in the first LOZ. It was written clear as day in the manual. 😜
Good job
Zeltik may have gotten his video out day of, but you correctly identified the Business Scrub (which he called a Deku Sprout)
To be fair, Link's equipment at the beginning really does have zonai vibes.
In another four months I'd like to see a collab video with Monster Maze about speculating what is and is going to be Fujibayashi's headcanon, and eventual actual canon of Zelda, in the case they do the same kind of consolidation as Sonic is assumed to have, going forward.

I thought of your Zonai swirl thing as SOON as I saw the hood in the trailer.
I literally just binged your channel yesterday
When is the next horror history coming out?
Actually just a twili swirl 🍥 😂
Calling it right now:
That Ganon was an echo from this game's villain.
Yeah that was my first thought after seeing the box art- link too (from the box art)
That's probably the plot twist of the game.

I can't believe this game is coming out on my birthday. I've been wanting a new top down zelda game for so long
Happy early birthday 😂
I'm excited for you .
That’s awesome, half your luck 🍀
I pre- ordered a copy on my birthday… it felt good, now just the waiting time 😅
Too bad my birthday is on the first week of September but I’m glad we are getting this game and I was just thinking a few weeks ago “Nintendo should make another Zelda game just like Links Awakening use that graphic style” and boom Nintendo drops this style once again!! 🤩I am so hype!! Can’t wait for this game to come out.
MINE IS EARLIER IN SEPTEMBER SO IM SO HAPPY!! IM HAPPY FOR YOU DUDE
My birthday is the TotK soundtrack day!
Nice wee presents from Nintt♥️💙💚
Happy Birthday for September 🎉🎉🎉
28:29 if you look in the top right, each skultulla costs two tri fragments. with two skultullas summoned and one fragment following Tri, that makes five total fragments, confirming that you will be able to upgrade your echo count
Good catch!
Just noticed that during the Skulltula shot, Zelda's actually got 5... ammo(?) for Tri. Each Skulltula takes 2, but she's got one left after summoning the second skull.
So, in case anyone expected there to be exactly 1 upgrade for that, confirmation that there's at least 2, I guess.
i think another youtuber Hyrule Gamer may have been right on the mark when he said that it could be upgrades to progress throughout the whole game
Maybe. But wouldn’t they typically confine her to her room and assign guards? Maybe we’ve got another Zelda impasta on our hands?
Could be that or Zelda’s father -the king of Hyrule hold her in detention to assure her life wasn’t endangered again.
You forgot "How are the Zonai?"
Not really, just from people that don't like totk.
You mean only whiny Zelda fans did
Wait. Rest? I’m gonna use water blocks and an old bed to create the most amazing waterbed ever mid-combat with a boss.
"Dark nuts" is wild
Very dark nuts indeed
Nut like doughnut just means knot, there's nothing to it really except poor spelling to force a pun and laugh about everything being dirty if you squint and try to make it.
some cool info, thank u@@sboinkthelegday3892
Really Dark Nuts aswel
@@sboinkthelegday3892 Its not that deep
That sword and that bow reminded me of those from Spirit Tracks...
I hadn't noticed this before, but that skulltula segment features five triangles. 2 for each skulltula, plus one still following Tri afterwards.
The game definitely has a more traditional set-up so having Zelda choose her own name might make sense.
i hope they add another house building mechanic like totk, but instead using echoes to be able to decorate it
Somehow I picture this having to appear in some sort of "Echo Realm".
Yeah it’s important to keep expectations in check with this sort of stuff
I think we'll get a Link "echo" or he will fight alongside Zelda against the final boss like Zelda would in past games
Did you notice that in the void the glasses lady falls into there is what appears to be a version of Jabu Jabu just staring at you?
Distrubing
Thought the same thing but I think it might just be the “vapor” coming off the woman sinking into the abyss.
I don't see it 👀
A new version of a Jabu-jabu's Belly dungeon would be really cool so i hope that's the case and he's back in Echoes of Wisdom.
@@javiervasquez625 Agreed
I really hope for some gorons cause of the new death mountain, they would look so good and cute in this art style.
Not only was this really detailed and well edited, it was funny too! Great work, thanks so much!
The bow made me think of the Bow of light in spirit tracks. With those squares in the design.
I think the "spotlight item" from 28:07 is actually a wind blower like we see at 15:38 except it's not mounted on the wall. The tip of the canon looks identical to the wall mounted blowers, and the environment appears to be the same desert themed dungeon or cave.
I hold hope that it's a twili swirl. Midna best companion.

You know what they say: "A picture is worth a thousand words." I wonder how many a video is worth?
Link’s disappearance to the void dimension after freeing his princess had a cool parallel to Zelda’s fall before sent back in time in Tears of the Kingdom.
While some people claims the symbols on Link's hood is from the Twili, I believes both the hood and the bow Link had used to free Zelda is more like a Zonai design.
OH MY GOSH IS THAT A ZONAI SWIRL?!?!?!?!
@@nabodabo1235 Possibly
I just realizing something, the scene with the spiders, Zelda has summoned 2, each spider costs 2 triangles, Tri has 1 triangle floating behind it, thats a total of 5 triangles. One more than the max of 4 we saw elsewhere.
So someone else covered a lot of this mere hours after the trailer dropped, but yours was more in depth and best for me, you were the only one who has brought up the bubble stream. Most just say "oh the gauge is gone maybe she can get an item or something" I bet you'll have to try and hit air bubble spots to get through more of it. Thanks for the video
In that case I think it’s moreso the fact that all HUD elements are turned off for that shot
4:20 now hold on, you do need the Master Sword for the end of TotK. Sure you can beat Ganondorf without it, but the game literally hands the sword to you for the Dragon fight.
I always forget that's a thing since I get it in my playthroughs way before that lol
Also good to note that the thing you’re besting in BotW with whatever weapon you’d like isn’t capital G Ganon
Anyway I’m so excited for this game and I think that people already screaming that ‘classic Zelda is dead forever’ or that this game will also lack more linear and tightly designed dungeons are getting WAY ahead of themselves.
@@shabado0reminds me of triforce heroes shenaningans 😅
Was literally JUST looking for his take on this!
Something I've seen nobody point out yet: Link is left-handed again.
Three minor corrections:
18:20 I believe that would be more of a brazier than a torch.
I actually thought the blue sword link was using at the start reminded me of the goddess sword at the start of Skyward Sword
Great job NBC! Glad you took your time before putting this out. Thorough analysis.
I’m really glad that you mentioned that this new Zelda game is a top down perspective and not calling it 2D like what everybody else says. Because it’s not 2D, it’s 3D from a top-down perspective.
That crow Zelda was holding on Death Mountain reminds me of the bird that brings rented items back to Ravio in A Link Between Worlds.
HA! I never noticed the REST button when you are near a bed.
In another Zelda game, we got to meet Ciel, who we later learned was the Spirit of Courage, so perhaps Tri is some sort of Spirit of Wisdom?
@@EternalScarecrow are you referring to Ciela from Phantom Hourglass? Because that would be a really neat connection between the games
@@Akechi_The_Phantom_Detective. At the end of Link Between Worlds, Lorule gets a new Triforce; No, it has nothing to do with this.
THE ZONAI SWIRL CALL!!! MY WISHES HAVE BEEN FUFILLED ❤
yeeessss!!!!
its unlikely they we will be collecting any bomb bags?
uh... there are 3 shortcut buttons like some old school zeldas have. im pretty confident that the rod and echoes will not be the only item you have to use.
OMG when you said is Tri an Echo of the triforce of wisdom I just thought: Imagine if we got a trio of games, first Echoes of Wisdom, then "something" of Courage and eventually "thingy" of Power and you get to play as Ganondorf!
Clearly that other world is the Distortion World and the final boss of this game is going to be Giratina!
29:03 It's more than likely a Peahat.
maybe the strange grey statues with the yellow lights allow for the transport between the overworld and the rift world similar to the cracks in A link between worlds
I honestly don’t think we’ll be playing as link. I’ll eat crow if I’m wrong, but I just don’t see it happening.
I don't think so, either.
@@matthewmuir8884 Link echo would definitely be a lot of fun
Doesn't Tri have five triangles in the skulltula shot? Four are used on the two skulltula, and it looks like they still have one left after summoning the second.
Best analysis of Echoes I have yet watched. Welcome back, NBC. You have been missed.
Actually, if you look at the in-game map from Zelda 3 the place where Death Mountain is located in EoW corresponds to the cloudy area in the upper left-hand corner.
i cant wait to play this game, good video i loved how you made jokes at your expense too
I find it interesting that when people see Zelda in a crystal in the trailer they go “ah, like OOT” yet it reminds me way more of the crystals from 4 Swords adventures.
Good call
I've never played a 2.5D Zelda game before (I've only played OoT, BotW and TotK), so I'm VERY excited for this game! 😄 I've watched this video several times because it's my favourite trailer analysis video. Thanks for the vid! 🎮
Considering that there are four arrows for tools to be assigned to and we have only seen the tri rod tool, I wonder if perhaps one of the other tools is some technology tool that was used for the wind-up octorock
Glad to see you back =]
YAAAAAAASSS NEW NBC VIDEO! LETS GOOOOOOO!
Am I the only one that's reminded of the Goddess Sword with Link's sword? I mean the swirlies are new but the color is a pretty good match.
Please upload again, I’ve checked this channel once a week to see if you posted about Echoes Of Wisdom.
anyone notice in the official box art that link is holding a different sword than he is in the intro sequence of the reveal video?
If any of those patterns are Zonai related, it's probably just a throwback to Tears Of The Kingdom, but not story related.
I'm pretty excited for this game. I'm glad they haven't completely given up on top-down Zelda.
***ABOUT LINK BEING POSSIBLY PLAYABLE ***
I full on agree with the idea of still being able to play as Link in this game.
A 2D Zelda game with a day/night system would be pretty cool.
The breakable wall in the lower-right of the title card scene lines up fairly well with the Moldorm Cave from Link to the Past (randomizer players know that cave well, having 5 items available as soon as you have some form of weapon).
im sooo excited to play this game!!!

It' s amazing to think that in a mere 3 months we' ll be able to play this game
God, I love this art style.
I'd assume the forest behind the castle is the Lost Woods.
If you can create an echo cat, I will happily sacrifice one triangle permanently.
Yesss, NBC analysis vids always hit different
I love how Link stands over an open cliff representing courage and Zelda stands over a lake representing wisdom.
Here's to hoping Ganon(dorf) will someday stand over a cliff representing Power.
@@javiervasquez625 lmao yeah that was a typo
i totally thought the cloak, sword, and bow that link carry in the first scenes were reminiscent of the zonai too! i loved the wilds era and i absolutely hope that we see official references to it again
Oh this looks good. You just know there's a bunch of abilities that they aren't showing us, yet, too.
25:17 perhaps if it is territorial it's about claim over brackish water? Do sea zora have claim or river zora?
THe strangest part of this, is that it implies Ganon moved away from Death Mountain to Lake Hylia cause the part of Lake Hylia region leading to the Ice Rod cave is enveloped by the rift.
I think there are 5 triangle during the Skulltula part
13:00 I don't think that was a jump that you can do at any time, it just looked like a get-up animation to get onto the table.
I say rolling is superior, since it gives you i-frames in every game it appears in.
gerudo pirates showed up in phantom hourglass, thats a top down game too
Eh....technicality. Plus, never confirmed to actually be Gerudo.
The hood to me reminds me of the Twilight pattern more so than Zonai
