I like that idea that they originally had the scythe as a logo to refer to the fact they protect an agriculture world where scythes would be a notable tool and mascot for the world. But now it will take on a more haunting and Reaper-esque meaning.
After the Badab War the surviving rebel chapters (Mantis Warriors, Lamenters and Executioners) were sent to do penitent crusades to try to reclaim their honor or die trying, each of these chapters was monitored by another chapter of untainted legacy, in the case of the Lamenters it was the Scythes who were tasked to keep an eye on them, during this crusade they both found themselves fighting against a tendril of a Hive Fleet and ended being badly mauled by it, this shared ordeal helped foster a bond of mutual respect between both chapters, the Lamenters found some measure of friendship that often eluded them; it was not meant to last as the death of every firstborn Scythe erased the chapter in all but name, their bond became just a memory from then on, business as usual for the Lamenters.
The Scythes are an example of how the Tyranids are a dangerous threat to even the Angels of Death and they are an example of how even the brink of their extinction they fought with zeal and fury that their legends and honors will be remembered for all time.
Dang armor is just sick looking plus the dudes wield scythes which just makes them even cooler in my opinion. Still need to read the cawl novel which I think has the latest lore about them though I may be wrong
I cant WAIT!!!!!!! U know i learned how to, and custom made a .png file Badge of their heraldry, JUST to put it on my Space Marine for: The Last Stand on Dawn of war
I always loved this chapter for the tragic tale of the loss of their homeworld and their near extinction. It's kind of a shame (from a story perspective) that they were just brought back to full strength in the blink of an eye and are all good now. I thought they were more interesting as a doomed chapter.
Sons of Oberdeii still stand! Their vigil over Pharos has ended, but their vigil over Sotha and the imperium will never end!

They protecc
They attacc
Most importantly,
They took too much space in what was supposed to be a Beliarius Cawl novel
And good, cus that shit would have sucked

Hora sad
Blowing up sotha to catch a C'tan living inside the planet was one of Billy Cawl's wildest missions. After the nids ate it.
Adding Billy Cawl to my nicknames ! Billy Cawl vs Fabulous Bill🤣🤘
Seems like I picked the perfect chapter to play/base my marines on in space marines 2
@@xcrimedevilxx3151 I didn't even know and chose them after watching the videos fs hope they add a scythe to the game ha
Bro I already played them and was already kicking tyranid ass without knowing their lore 😂
We need a short story of Scythes of the Emperor hanging out with the Crimson Fists
Write down your thoughts

"Reaping the Xenos like Emperor Welds it"
This was great! Scythes are up there with spears for coolest ultramarine successors. And the Belisarius Cawl book is totally worth a read
Gardner marines tending on maintaing the Garden overrun with Tyranids
6:00 Dear Emperor, who melted those Scouts?

Agree, the Scythes are great, and so is this video.
So passes Dantioch, hero of the Imperium!
Brother Remembrancer, Yet again your elucidations do justice to the Emperors golden light.
Thank you Brother, I do my best.
@@TheRemembrancerMay you elucidate on the Sons of Sek?
Thank you for relieving my boredom with your amazing videos
We needed to cook up these extra Hundred Marines for.. Reasons. Nobody tell Dorn.
I want them to add the cross scythe emblem on the breastplate to space marine 2 sooo bad,it’s the least they can do for their sacrifice on Sotha.
I cant WAIT!!!!!!! U know i learned how to, and custom made a .png file Badge of their heraldry, JUST to put it on my Space Marine for: The Last Stand on Dawn of war
Heroic and compassionate they are the best of Ultramarine successors 🖤🖤💛💛 They are what Salamanders try to be.
Do they use scythes?
Please could you do a video on the Death Spectres, they’re mysterious and cool af
Loyalist Iron Warriors are cool!
Sotha is the coolest planet in 40K. Fight me.
My favourite legion ❤
Fuel for the great Algo
Glorious!
Whack color scheme but their lore is so cool! I’ll be playing them in space marine 2.
Uh! Xenos filth! Here's an idea for a new titan design: regular upper body, and then a pair of lonnnnng legs and giant pair of bug squishing boots.
Merir Astelan pls
This is how Space Marines are supposed to be.
You may no like it, but this is true.
Heroes of the Imperium.
Heroes of the people.
