    Thanks. We are considering love birds at the moment. My recent stuff has just been about the homestead, but definitely going to do some bird content. I haven't had birds in twenty years

    A high quality pellet mix and fresh foods should be the foundation of the diet. A seed mix, even with added viatmis, is discouraged

    My Love Bird 'Peanut 6yrs old is a Red-Head does not like fruit. Besides her regular food & spray mallet [her treats] she likes lettuce, broccoli, sunflower seeds & egg shells. Her mate Buddar died last summer when she flew into the window. Since then I am Peanut's mate I guess cause she never leaves me alone, always on my shoulder. She won't let me touch her but nibbles my ears, & twirls my hair in her beak . She is happy in her large cage with lots of toys & comes to me when I call. Thank you for this video, I enjoyed it

    the bravest parrot i ever see
    1 time i saw a little yellow lovebirds (rose)
    attacking and keep chasing a African grey!!!! and he won that fight Lollllll😂

    • @LearnaboutAnimals
      @LearnaboutAnimals  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's quite an interesting encounter you witnessed between a yellow lovebird and an African grey parrot! Lovebirds, despite their small size, can sometimes display territorial or aggressive behavior, especially when they feel their space is being invaded or when they're protecting their mate or nesting area.
      It's important to note that each bird has its own personality, and individual birds may exhibit different behaviors. While lovebirds are known for their feisty nature, not all of them will engage in aggressive behavior towards larger parrots like African greys.
      The interaction you described highlights the fascinating dynamics that can occur between different bird species. It's always intriguing to observe these unique moments in the animal kingdom.
      If you have any more stories or experiences to share about lovebirds or other birds, I'd love to hear them!

    • @purpleperruche5433
      @purpleperruche5433 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@user-fr5ws7zn2mbecause they become hormonal, they get more agressive, territorial and they become dependent on that mirror so if u ever remove the mirror they will get depressed/mad for a long time. I'm talking from experience. My bird nonstop did things with the mirror😅 and became more and more obsessed and aggressive... It's not healthy, they need a partner not a mirror

    A quick question, i own a lovebird, but lately he's been doing the same wing flapping combined with screaming as the bird in 2:52 what does it mean?

    • @LearnaboutAnimals
      @LearnaboutAnimals  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe it wants to fly. If you think something is wrong with your bird, please call a vet to make shure your bird is ok.

      hi i have a fisher's lovebird, when he flaps and screams it means a few different things, excitement, exercise, and showing off, also communication to other birds such as.... hey go away ect.

    • @davescheer5038
      @davescheer5038 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve had and raised love birds for 7 yrs the wing flapping and chirping is a way of signaling to other birds a calling to them , plus it can be used to entice the opposite sex for breeding , if it’s an only bird it could be used to call you as it might want attention.

    I remember visiting a friend in Den Hague and they had the smallest love birds I’d ever seen….they were TINY! And their eggs were miniscule! But they made the most endearing noises I’d ever heard from a cage bird.

    My father bought me two pairs of love birds and i love them. But the two pairs fight with each other so we had to separate them. They also have eggs in their cages.....and its very complicated for me to care for them. They don't want me near them or their eggs...and they're new to my environment. It's only been 3 days and im giving them space to adjust but im afraid if i won't be able to bond with them after they're eggs are hatched....what should i do?

    • @HeHe-iq8cz
      @HeHe-iq8cz 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Check if they are of same gender. Usually they fight when they are of same gender.

    • @ruiwahnon8215
      @ruiwahnon8215 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They need large cages, at least 1,70 meter x 0,90 meter x 0,90 meter per pair. And a dead wooden shrub instead small branches of several witdths. Also a nest larger than those of budgies, placed nexto to the very top of the cage. The chicks that then hatch will only fight among themselves when they grow if the population becames excessive, or if different couples fight for the same nest. A cage with these measures should not have more than two nest (for couples born in the same cage) placed always at the same level. Otherwise they'll fight for the one higher up. You can always isolate the fighters in a smaller temporary cage and sell them.

    • @ruiwahnon8215
      @ruiwahnon8215 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can try and buy them a mixture of several different types of grounded dehydrated tropical fruits. In pet shops and supermarkets with a pet section you will be able to buy the said mixture. If they like it and eat it, then try giving them fresh banana, apple, avocado, strawberies and pear simultaneously. Small portions of each, always. Eventually they will eat only fresh fruit. But make sure to give them only sweet pieces of fruit, they won't go for sour ones. But if they don't go for anything else, then buy vitamin drops and put them in their water according to its instructions. One vial lasts forever.

      I have just learned this a couple days ago and found the reason so cute. They do this in the wild to bring "nesting material" to where they build the Nest basically.

      Compared to many other parrot species they are pretty quiet. Be sure to allow them to sleep for 12 hours otherwise they get moody and make more noise.
