hey, man, I'm currently choosing between Phenom SHG-250 and Venum elite. Which one would you say is better overal for boxing?
Do any of you guys who own this headgear had issues with staining from the interior suede lining that touches the forehead? I received the Phenom today and love it, but just after brief fitting my forehead was all black from the dye.
The ultralight is called the apex headgear now and as far as I know the only difference is it now has a quick clip system too. Does that up the score in your book?

Interestingly, Phenom also updated their bag mitts and copied the contoured shape of the RB5's. Not knocking them for it just interesting to see. I also checked on their website and this is more than twice the price of the very good Top Boxer Gladiator. I'd like to know your opinion, is it really worth that much more over the Gladiator?
For me it is yes
I really like this headgear. I’m glad I saw your review before I bought my second headgear. Only complaint I have is that I already have a very huge head. The L sized version on my head, makes me very easy to hit. I’m akways ten times better at avoiding punches when not using one.
How does the Ringsize Apex compare in size? I personally only need the headgear for the occasionally heads clashing together in the clinch, and some of the eventual cuts from gloves. Other than that, I’m better off without the headgear to be honest. Still love my phenoms, but would love to try something thinner and more compact.

Hi Carlo, I'm following you from Italy, I wanted to ask you if you had encountered the same problem as me with this helmet which after a lot of sweat slips on my head ruining my sessions, I'm desperate, I thought I had finally found the definitive helmet but I was wrong.

They no longer have the suede against your forehead, which I love.
I wanted one but I paid the extra to get the Winning FG-2900 instead. I still want one of these though
you will never go back..After using winning there will be nothing that compares. Save your money up and buy winning gloves
10/10 for this headgear. The one I had before would always slip down or to the side, so I had to readjust mid sparring. Had a velcro closure, so to lower slipping I had to make it way to tight, constant pressure was really uncomfortable. This one just screams quality, was very easy to get a perfect fit for my headshape, very comfortable padding, inside material is non slip, great vision and it looks dope in all black. ALSO they got rid of the velcro in the forehead bar (its now the same non slip leather as the rest of the inside) to make it easier to clean. Thanks for your reviews

Hey! Doesn’t the cheek bars bother your vision slightly? I have a feeling it does slightly bother me on this headgear. Just bought mine a few days ago
@@Maliw I mean it all depends on headsize, headshape and what style headgear youre comparing it to. Ive personally havent had any issues with visibility at all, but Ive always used cheek style headguards. Now compared to an open face headgear its probably less visible, to a nosebar probably not.
@@mightyMrJones it’s interesting that I ordered 2 headgears from them, with the facebar and the cheek version and to my surprise I had a better vision in their facebar version 😅
@@Maliw I feel like that has be due to headshape, Im not a fan of facebars cause of uppercuts. Have you had issues with any other cheekstyle headgears?

Deciding between this and Reyes cheek protector, which would you say has better comfort and vision?
I like my Reyes better. The phenom I got was the wrong size, but imo the leather feels cheap the protection is a beat cheap as well. There’s a reason you don’t see many pro’s rocking this headgear. Go wit the Reyes, it has trusted reviews and many people use it for a reason as I did when I first got mine about a year ago. Bout to buy a new one

Idk if its just me, but i get a headache wearing this headgear (not from punches) but after wearing it for a while. Love the material and color but idk if i should do away with it or stick it thru until they break in.
EDIT- UPDATE
Bought another color way, same size, same type (250) but fits much better and does not give me any headaches. Not sure why the other version was giving me issues and felt tighter.

Is your nose and eyes easily hit with the SGH-250?
23.5 inch head. Medium or large? Seems to run big so maybe medium as my cleto mediums fit good but most others like FG2900 medium is too small. Zero vision back is too wide open
Did you weigh this headgear? I'm curious to see how heavy it is.
Its advertised as 12oz, mine was 364gramms or 12,8oz though.

Pulled the trigger and bought it in black. The new models don’t have the suede forehead. Low key disappointed. I thought it was a good feature.

Hey man sorry for always pestering you with questions but do you think the fortress T1 fastwraps are worth $100?
I've never heard of those hand wraps nor have I seen them but I can tell you right now in my humble opinion no hand wraps should ever cost $100 gloves yes that should be a good starting price point but never hand wraps unless it's some weird glove hybrid wrap but pure hand wraps no. quick tip look at what the pros are using they're going to be using the best and the tried and true
I bought some of the fast wraps… they are nice, quick and convenient… protect my hands very well… been using them only for the past few months and I haven’t had any hand issues at all… the only thing is getting them in brand new laced gloves. They get inside but are super tight and hard to make a fist. I was able to break in some brand new Velcro everlast gloves much easier.. I’ll be using normal hand wraps for the lace gloves and once I break the gloves in I’ll try the fast wraps again..

I'm looking at either the phenom shg250 or winning fg2900.
I currently have the ring to cage clones of the winnings(but want quality that lasts) and love the light weight and super cushionned feel. Really leaves you with less of a headache after a hard sparring sesh.
How is the phenom padding in comparison to the winnings.
Are they as soft and absorbant? Cause I feel that's what sets the winning headgear apart from the competition.

@angelmora6053 man long story short, couldn't get the winnings, but go the ring 2 cage japanese style headgear, pretty good for the price honestly.

No white stays clean and black you can see stains more easily

@@Detonat0rx Phenom feels slightly higher quality, not much. There is no suede forehead part on the UMA . UMA is mich better value for money
