2 SCOTS Assaye Colour Parade

- 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (#2SCOTS), The Royal Highland Fusiliers have retired their unique Assaye colour after many years of service. The battalion was presented with a new colour purchased by the outstanding fundraising efforts from serving members of the battalion and veterans.
This historic event was attended by the Colonel of the Regiment, Lieutenant General Nicholas R M Borton DSO MBE who commissioned into The Royal Highland Fusiliers in 1991, becoming Commanding Officer of 2 SCOTS in 2008 and veterans from RHF (Royal Highland Fusiliers)as well as members of the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada.
The Royal Highland Fusiliers were formed on 20th January 1959 by an amalgamation of The Royal Scots Fusiliers and the Highland Light Infantry, the descendants of the 74th (Highland) Regiment of Foot who first became The Highland Light Infantry in 1881, #2SCOTS are the only British infantry regiment to still carry the battle honour.
